Was just curious,I just got the xtar-VP4,it tells you everything.lol. Thanks for the info Vlad.

No and especially at high wattage. Yihi strongly recommends that you do not.
Where does YiHi recommend that you don't use the passthrough in this manner? Link please.
Oh sorry about that Vlad I just figured you had tried it when you made the recommendation. I know someone on here said there was plenty of flavor at .065 with 26awg which makes sense to me because of the wickjis getting good coverage. I think that is why the flavor is better at .09 with the 28No no no, I was just suggesting you try 26 @ .09Ω I don't have any 26 to compare.![]()
I don't think any of the devices anymore have true pass through they just allow you to vape while charging is going on if the battery is charged enough. I could be wrong but if I remember right from the old days a true pass through could be vaped without a battery even in the device. It's been a long time thoughSeriously?

Can you please show where they claim that either of their devices or chip is pass-though?
can you provide a link please that shows they recommend it please.
Does anyone use the usb charging port to charge their batteries? One of the reasons I bought it, to use the usb charging capabilities. The SX Mini's USB is a pass-through, but YiHi recommends swapping batteries. This is likely to reduce wear and tear on the USB port, which is only warrantied for 3 months I believe, while the rest of the system is a 1 year warranty.
I don't think it's a great option as it would be pretty slow.Does anyone use the usb charging port to charge their batteries? One of the reasons I bought it, to use the usb charging capabilities.

I also think YiHi makes it pretty clear that the USB port is there mainly for upgrades and it is only guaranteed for 3 months which is enough incentive for me not to use it for anything else.

But there is also a safety factor here. It is simply quite dangerous, especially using the device @ 50J or 60W while plugged in.
For someone to recommend a feature as dangerous as this (the unit can blow up in someones face), when it is absolutely false and no where stated as a feature by Yihi is, well, possibly going to get someone seriously hurt and set themselves up for one major lawsuit.
I use it when I am at work and don't have batteries with me. It works but I just am nice to it.Does anyone use the usb charging port to charge their batteries? One of the reasons I bought it, to use the usb charging capabilities.
The links you gave didn't support your attribution to Yihi regarding USB charging. Thus, the only conclusion that can be made so far is that you're asserting your opinion as if it is YiHi's. As to what they recommend, I leave that to the manual, which someone else has already posted. Also, as to what constitutes a passthrough, it's generally the feature not the exact function that matters. So long as the device can be used while charging, this is often referred to as USB passthrough. Should you need convincing on that, just do a google search of any popular recent mod (e.g., iStick) along with the term "USB passthrough" and you'll see that is the case.
The ability to use the device while charging is listed as a feature (or capability if one prefers) in the manual. As to the rest of your hyperbole, such a failure would be due to using a defective battery. The charging feature itself, however, is unlikely to cause any thermal runaway, as it is below 0.5 A.

30 min? It takes me 4-5 hours to charge my vtc5 at .5amps. Everyone is talking about prolonging the life of the usb port, and no one is talking about prolonging the life of their batteries. Charging up a battery in 30 minutes, using a high amperage, decreases the life of it greatly. All very true! And a very good incentive to use a more practical charger too.

yes, you can use it for charging. Many have since Nov/Dec on the S class without issue. But, as with cellphones, the USB port can easily be damaged by constantly inserting and removing the UB cord -- it's the weakest link on any device. As @2legsshrt states, there is a shorter warranty for the port too. And if its damaged, you will not be able to do a future software update.
Charging through the USB (only 450mAh) can take 5 hours to complete. You can do the same is a charger like the LUC4 in about 75 minutes.

I understand the risks on vaping and charging , and I agree with everyone. I won't do it, but just was curious about just charging the device through the usb port, as I only charge my vtc5 batteries at .5amps anyways, I wouldn't see a slower charge time than normal. It all comes down to if I can or not. I understand that the warranty only covers the usb for 3 months, but that doesn't mean you can't ever use it, if you're careful.
Can you link me to some of these studies? Every thread I have read says that .5 amps will increase the battery life a lot more than 1amp.There are quite a few studies regarding batteries and charging at different amps. Most show that charging at 0.5A vs 2A will give you maybe 5 more total charge cycles over the life span of the battery. At about $5 cost per battery, i will take that convenience. Also, as a safety feature, being so cheap to replace, I am not waiting anywhere near the end of the battery's life to replace it.
Also, certain batteries like INR (the popular Samsung 25R's for example) will lose 40% after 250 charge cycles (a little over 8 months of everyday charging).
The links i provided are all from Yihis very own website and not my "opinion" but FACT that NO WHERE is it listed on any of those links does it mention that this device is pass-through.
You make a statement that this device has pass-through and is perfectly safe to use as pass-though without any proof of such. That is YOUR opinion only. And a very dangerous opinion for which you now become personally liable for in the event that someone listens to you and gets seriously hurt as a result (yes, i am a practicing attorney). Furthermore, you quote a "manual" and this feature listed in it. Please show to me and the other few thousand owners of this device where in that manual it is listed? Page number? I am looking at my manual and can not see it anywhere. There is a BIG difference between using the USB port to charge the device and using the device to vape while it is plugged in and charging!
Also, please provide me with even ONE of their authorized dealers website that lists that this device has a pass-through feature. varitube, vapro, ginger vaper, coval, yeti. Any one.
And thank you @Croak for attaching the manual as Yozhik obviously does not have it nor the unit to even make such a statement.
