I just completed the update for my SX, but still need to install the patch (latest update).

Are those of you who've updated using the eco mode? Turning off gravity sensor?

Just wondering how people are changing the way they use their SX after the update.

Jimi D, there is a new update, v2.1 and I believe there's another one after that to fix a problem with the eco mode showing battery is dead.

Go to PBusardo's SX videos, and you'll find one in which he shows you step by step how to update (other then the patch, which at the time he filmed the video he was unaware of)
I left gravity sensor on but turned the sensor off, which stops it from changing your settings up and down when tilted. I assume that everyone that updates will use ECO mode 100% of the time now....

Not really sure I'll use eco mode 100% of the time.

1st, my battery life wasn't too bad. I would manage to get most of the way through an entire day, and simply replace the battery when I got home. If I knew I was leaving the house, and wouldn't be home until late, I'd simply grab a second 18650 and bring it with me.

In Joules mode, I find that powerful either doesn't work, or doesn't work right, but for whatever reason, I don't use powerful when I'm in Joules mode.

When I've vapping with Kanthal, in Power mode, I really like using the Powerful mod! That means that I won't be able to use Eco mode, when I'm not using temp control

I'll probably use Eco whenever I'm in Temp Control mode, but use Powerful in Power mode.

Yes I saw it and did submit for the contest anyway. He really didn't like the feel or the screen of the IPV4. He said it was like the brain was good but the body was not. The screen does look like a showstopper to me. All the rest I could live with if I were in the market.

I know a lot of folks have removed the mirror coating on the screen cover and it makes it viewable. The screen cover is my complaint with the ipv mini v2, which is a smoked plastic, which you can't remove the cover off of. Ok at indoor lighting levels, but outdoors, and or wearing sunglasses, it's impossible to read (not DNA40 scrambled screen unreadable, but still a pain)... But it was a $50 mod, so I'm not going to complain

For $65 I couldn't help myself. I like how it feels in hand myself, the screen could be brighter, but I haven't had any issues not being able to see it, but I also don't sit outside in direct sunlight, vaping and constantly looking at the screen between puffs, lol

I just mailed the M-Class off to Ginger Vaper this morning for replacement (paint). They are so friggin' awesome to deal with, always a pleasure and super quick responding...seriously top notch CS. Highly recommend them to anyone needing an M-Class, or another, in their life, lol

Oh I'm glad to here that. Just bought one from there yesterday and one for the hubby from the classifieds. It was purchased from there also so hopefully we're good to go.

If someone with the new firmware wouldn't mind sending me a PM so I can provide you with an e-mail you could send it to, I would appreciate it!

Also, I wouldn't mind hosting the firmware on my dropbox account so everyone can just download it without needing to have it e-mailed to them.

Good mind reading!! :)

Right behind you...
One thing I'm wondering about why didn't the IPV4 use the 350J chip. Too expensive.

It's because Yihi will NOT sell the 350/350J to Chinese vendors. It's for foreign customers only, and with the advent of the SX Mini S and M, for Yihi use as well. If the Chinese mod makers want Yihi chips, they have the lower spec/lesser featured SX130, SX300, and SX330 series.

It's sort of a smart move, at the board's (tightly controlled) price point and with the market restrictions, it gives them something to compete directly with Evolv in the high end low production mod space, where the HEMO makers aren't directly competing with low cost versions from China. That helped the SX350 series gain a LOT of positive mindshare even before the J was rolled out.

Now all they need to do is score a coup and get one of the "big three" US Evolv partners to jump ship (Hana, Vaporshark, Vaporflask). I'm sure they've been trying to do this for some time, and lack of success last year led them to roll out the SX Mini instead. I'm sure at least one of those companies above are kicking themselves now for not signing with Yihi after all the DNA40 woes, and the sales and critical success of the SX Mini line (and corresponding loss of DNA40 mod sales).

Interesting assessment and probably right on the mark!
