System Preference options...priceless, thanks for the feedback fellas.

If you personally had the ability to add or change a system preference I'm curious what everyone here would suggest ?

I would like to be able to set the screen timeout ins any boost mode not just ECO.

My system preference option needs a little (very little) work on Yihi's part...I want the temp/resistivity of titanium in there so we can select wire other than Ni 200 for temp control....and I second Georges display timeout across the board.

I know Yihi says they are working on the Ti thing but I want it yesterday. :)

I agree. Ti setting is needed. Since switching from Ni to Ti I just don't ever see going back to Ni. Easy enough to work around though. I just set the temp to between 260° and 300°. Also, being able to select the display timeout in any mode. You could select "0" for stealth mode!

I hadn't thought of that for our vaping stuff but I've been doing it for years for half used cans of varnish and tung oil. :)

And I hadn't thought of that for either purpose. Just starting to dabble in woodworking and I need to go buy a bag or two of marbles today!

I just love learnin' stuff! :)

Since I am already getting 30K+, soon to be 40k+ when my LG HG2's arrive, my wishlist...

Time/Alarm clock
Puff counter
Ti algorithm
Dummy mode -- Just set temp and it works. That temp. No need for joules or modes
Clean my apartment / make coffee / dinner reservations (why not... it does everything else)
Vibrate mode (well...at least for the Pink models)

+1 for Ti

have been using the same builds for over a week now

two identical builds 0f 0.265 that still read exactly the same as day I made them

coils are not gunked atal using 26awg x 5 wraps at 3mm

changed the wick a few times & like yourself am running between 270f-290f depending on the juice

creams & custards have better flavour at 270f

where as the fruit mixes take a bit more power up to 290f for me

the Ni200 coils had a slight taste to them even after cleaning the wire and gunked up with a few tanks run through them

Where were you able to order the HG2s?

I strongly disagree with the last statement.
Chinese manufacturers have the potential to build with equal quality as manufacturers from any other country. So why do they get a bad rap? Because to get that quality, you would pay as much as you would for something made in another country. China also has the unique advantage to produce items for pennies on the dollar comparatively, and that manufacturing is what people gravitate toward-- in other words, it's why you see so much more of it: people want it cheap!

It's no secret that China leads the world in math testing scores. With that, it only follows that the potential for good engineers is also there. Again, the "WalMart mentality" drives the over saturation of the market place with cheaply made, substandard quality, and reverse engineered (aka "cloned" or better termed "counterfeit") products.

The SX mini is a prime example of top notch engineering and manufacturing. Even John the lead engineer for Evolv commends how well the SX350 board is designed. One look at the SX Mini, and it's easy to see a device that is built as well (and arguably better) than some devices made in the U.S., Germany and other places. You also see a level of customer support that rivals anyone else.

Chinese made products, as with products made elsewhere, if you eliminate the hype factor (I.e. High demand driving prices up), you will get what you paid for.

Well, YiHi is replacing the ones with defective paint, so you should send it back if that's the case. I just got my replacement with fixed paint, perfect.

I do not think paint of any sort is or should be acceptable on an item that must be handled constantly to be useful. The only finish other than brushed metal that I have confidence in is anodizing for aluminum, bare metal for stainless steel etc. There may be epoxy resin coatings that have the durability required but I have no experience with them. It's unfortunate that Yihi chose zinc die castings for the SX Mini M class because zinc is a very unattractive metal in its natural state. I understand that it is possible to achieve better dimensional precision with zinc die castings compared to aluminum but I personally would be happier with a slightly less precise aluminum frame that was anodized compared to what we have with the M class now.

I would also prefer the lighter weight of an aluminum frame device...but overall I still think the SX Mini M class is a winner. My option is to wrap it with something like J Wraps or put on a silicone case.

Btw Does anyone recommend a specific silicone case source?

When I first became aware of the silicone sleeves for the SX M I thought I wouldn't like that at all because I liked the appearance of the device in it's raw state. After trying the sleeves anyway I'm converted to a fan. I like the feel of the device in the hand with the sleeve and the button presses aren't negatively affected at all. The ones I got have the covered buttons and I even like that. Reminder to self..."keep an open mind". :)

You have posted that link already before

There was a bad 1st batch of black painted SXM's

Yihi have instructed vendors to replace them under warranty

The new paint is as durable as paint can be

Just get in touch with Yihi & arrange to get it swapped out with your vendor

That's assuming you bought it from an authorised source then you have no problem

If you did not ... hey ho
