I'm gonna toss my opinion in here. Can the SX Mini be improved? Sure it can. Is everyone as pleased as I am with it? Probably not. But as far as I'm concerned, it beats the Evolv dna 40 hands down. I got a Vapor Shark, a Vapor Flask, and a Deviate. All of them but 1 was over the 199.00 price tag of the SX Mini. The other was only 20.00 less. These mods have been retired and are being displayed as "Collectors Items". They just can't compete with the SX Mini. Evolv is really going to have to step it up before I would even consider them a viable alternative to Yihi.

Now I've heard it all. LOL. Just LOL. The standard definition of a Joule is one watt-second, among other things you infer. A joule is a watt, expended for exactly one second. No more, no less. It has nothing to do with thermal energy vs electrical energy. Actually they are convertible into each other. Unfortunately there is absolutely no time element in that setting, therefore it is meaningless. So really, that setting is watts. Nothing but watts. Except to the marketing guy that figured out everyone would think otherwise if he redefined joules. And it's obvious here that a whole lot of people bought into that. Just LOL. OK, I'm out of here. This was an amazing display of fanboyism. Seriously, over and out.

From engineering toolbox:

4.184 joule of heat energy (or one calorie) is required to raise the temperature of a unit weight (1 g) of water from 0oC to 1oC, or from 32oF to 33.8oF

As you're an engineer, I'd like to hear your proposal as far as what units it should be measured in. As I'm sure you're aware, watts are insufficient, as the amount of power delivered to the coil necessarily changes over time in order to maintain the set temperature.

Vape Mesh company in the UK. They have been in the metals business forever make their own Ti and sell to a lot of the vendors that mark it up. Seem like very good wire to me. It is GR1 vacuum annealed. Shipping is high but the wire is fairly cheap so it makes up for it. They make Titan wires and Crazy Wire and wouldn't be surprised if they made Sweet vapes and Spider silk or web or what ever it is. I think they got into the vaping end when the genesis atties were poplular and started making mesh thus the name.

They don't "make Ti". They buy it like everyone else. They don't supply stealthvape and certainly not sweet vape which has some weird grade 2 transformed into something else (so they say).

Btw, since you say that the Mesh company has such good wire, did they provide the analysis datasheet? Mind sharing?

I have much to say about your reply quoted here. For now I will remind you that the discussion of Celsius vs Fahrenheit has been debated here numerous times. For example, on April 14 when you picked the same fight about it. And I think you've been around long enough to know that the mere mention of F vs C is guaranteed to start a fight. And I fail to see how that was remotely connected to my comment about the factual misuse of "Joules". Who is doing the baiting here?????

So who is picking fights here? You may wish to review the rules here yourself. And these are not my rules but rules you are imposing on me, such as apparently I am unable to discuss anything buried in the 7500 preceding replies here. Those are not my rules, nor do I agree with them. I just think it is fair to request that you adhere to your own self imposed rules.

And I am in my late 50s, as my profile factually and clearly indicates. Did you not bother to look, or was that a back handed insult intended to "pick a fight"? *I* did not pick a fight. I merely asked if anyone else had an issue with the obvious misuse of the term. Which has resulted in great confusion, as evidenced in HolmanGT's recent reply, and numerous others here. I suspect because he is unwilling to simply suggest that the emperor has no clothes here. But the mob of fanboys will attack anyone that suggests otherwise, as I did.

It was not I that tried a strategy of Revisionist History to pick a fight about this. I merely challenged you to support your revisionist assertion with a credible link. In fact no one has ever specified a light bulb in watt-hours. It's been watts since Edison. And the lumens argument is a total Red Herring and simply irrelevant to my post.

In fact I did buy a different mod, mainly because the more I read in this thread the more credibility issues I came up with. Issues such as lack of warranty disclosure and how they went about the titanium update, which IMHO was very unprofessional and not becoming of a company marketing a device at 4x the cost of many of their competitors. I wanted to buy this product but I just couldn't.
Dear Vneil,

I don't know how to tell you this without hurting your feelings but I didn't bother to check your profile because... I really don't care enough about you to be remotely interested from where you are or how old you are.

You do realize that indicating a forum profile to prove age or gender is a bit surreal? Not too long ago, I met a member, here on ECF, who actually resembles you very very much, that listed his origin as being "Paradise". Should I believe he was in fact Adam or Eve? Or maybe there is a village or city called Paradise, I don't know?

Regarding the rest, I think you proved your point. I threw away anything remotely related to joules and I'm now vaping on a Watt device. Thank you for showing me the light. Joules are plain wrong.

I hope you'll sleep better tonight knowing you won.

Regards
Tony

It's very apparent from your remark that you don't understand Joule heating. Ignorance is bliss I guess.

Your best bet is to start a thread devoted to arguing with yourself. I think you'd love it.

Now that that's (hopefully) over, has anyone else noticed coils gunking up a lot faster with TP? I've only been using it for about a week, but it seems like mine get really gummed up after about 2-3 days, whereas I can usually go a week using the same juice in VW.

Apologies if this has already been addressed, I'm making my way through the thread from the beginning, but as it turns out it's quite long

Vapo,

I have experienced the exact opposite. Mine hardly gunk and the little bit there is cleans right off with a toothbrush. I will admit it makes my toothbrush taste a little funny though.

God if I was any funnier I would quit my day job.

I think a really opinionated man would/could build a really meaningless argument for the the absolute-ultimate unit of power being the Poncelet. Further I'm sure that same self absorbed opinionated person would make a similar argument for use of the Quad as the only proper measure of energy.

Of course that person would be absolutely right (to him or her) but the rest of the world wouldn't give a flying ****.

When things get really dull there are always people so wrapped up in themselves that they are willing to provide entertainment for others at whatever cost to their image. It can really brighten up a dull day.

I also find that temp control keeps my coils/wick a lot cleaner. Haven't heard of it making things worse before.

Well, I learned with my wife that sometimes it's just better to let the other party think they won and avoid further arguments that will lead nowhere. Life has been much easier since then.

Never thought using it on a Internet forum with a complete stranger but hey, no more arguing right?

And, as you certainly know, throwing away all my joule based devices wasn't that hard at all. ;)

Sorry to tell you this, but even those remaining devices are using joules per coulomb. I guess that means it is time for you to dust off the mechs and party like it's 2013? ;)

Lol... I think I threw away enough mods for a day and I still need to make a few experiments with my dna 200. Maybe tomorrow? :)

Haha, you got me, I did indeed laugh out loud when I read your post. Not sure if it was the joke itself or the comment afterwards :)

I guess I'll keep experimenting; like I said, I've only been playing with TP for about a week. The gunk is definitely easy to clean off (light wipe with some leftover cotton leaves the coil looking shiny and new), I just noticed the flavor starts tasting muted and gunky a little faster than VW. Granted, I suppose I could just be vaping more now since I have a whole new style to get used to :w00t:
