Wicking in tp will have a big affect on vapor production, but wouldn't change the temp the coil reaches before it throttles down. Whether you go with rayon or cotton, high vg or low, the temp and joules will control how hot the coil gets. How wet the coil is will control vapor production.

Quick question. I haven't bothered updating my 3 SX Mini's. If it's not broke, don't fix it. Right? I'm not even sure I can since my PC is running XP Pro. Should I look into updating my mods?

Not absolutely necessary, but I am the kind of guy that will run a script that will check their web site every 5 mins. lol

However, I would suggest the upgrade.

If you have Eco mode, than with the firmware you have you can pretty much do the same thing as anyone else.

K I don't know if it's possible running XP Pro. Should be. I use to be into pc's like I am into vaping gear now. I don't even have Internet. Could I dl the file to my phone and transfer it to my PC and do the upgrade that way?

I would think you should be able to do that and then connect your phone to your XP PC via a USB cable. If that doesn't work one of us could email you the files.

I would advise against d/l to phone, rather direct to the box you use to do the upgrade itself...

Yes I tried to update on my desktop only running usb3 win 7 and it wouldn't update so I updated on my laptop with XP and it updated fine.

Sort of, both e-liquid and air help cool the coil. So the more wicking or airflow you have, the more rapidly the coil is cooled. TC is basically about balancing energy lost from wicking, airflow, and vaporization with heating from the coil. You're right that these factors (e.g., wicking) don't change the target temp, but they do influence how the device reaches the target temp.

Seeing I don't have Internet on my PC, I will sit out on the update. At least until I have access to a PC with Internet. I don't run titanium anyway so it's really not a big deal. Thanks everyone for the replies.

Yep, but you can still do Ti with nickel mode. Just need to lower the temps.

I am not sure if anyone has seen the latest Phil Busardo review on the new iStick TC40W by Eleaf that has temperature control for NI200 wire. In his review he again compared actual temperature readings with his equipment on the iStick along with the DNA40, SX350J, and the eVic VT. The SX350 is showing a fairly accurate reading with NI200 on his graphs. One of his graphs does compare include the DNA200 with his Kayfun temperature comparisons. Funny with a 400F setting the DNA200 comes in at 402F which is pretty damn good, but the SX350J came in at exactly 400F. Not bad at all. The others were much lower with the DNA40 coming in next at 368F. But that is with the Kayfun RTA which we seem to know, and he again states is troublesome for TC.



The iStick is not too bad for TC and for a price selling $31.99 it might make for a good throw around mod, a work mod, or maybe something to have around just in case...

All the airflow and the wicking does (if done well) is slow down the time to reach temp.

Not sure if the SXM will let you, but I wouldn't. Charging two batteries in series tends to cause more problems than a single battery or two batts in parallel. Better to just remove them and put them on a dedicated charger.

I believe I remember that it will not allow charging with the battery tube connected.

do you guys prefer to take the battery out and use a external charge or just keep the same battery in the unit and use the usb port to charge the battery?
