As I said previously, I changed TCR on Manual Profile to 0.00375 for Ti built EK and found it to be much better performing.
As another said earlier,,,, the Ti and Ni Pre-set Profiles are operational Curves with several Data Points. More than likely, the manual TCR Setting is a "straight-line" operationally and performance wise varying Power only to maintain a Point on a straight Temp Line.
That would explain the difference in Experiences with the 2 Settings on the same Arty/Builds. Depending on the Atty and the Build and the Material, one will perform better than the other but not necessarily predictably without a ton of personal usage to go by.
Which was also pointed out previously....
The Basic Parameters are objective and Informational. Text-Book per se.
How it will apply to each of us and our differing Situations individually (with all the other individually subjectve Variables) and the nuances thereof aren't "Cookie-Cutter" in nature. So, can't just be asked and answered. We are gonna have to find out and learn for ourselves as we go.

It's been my experience so far that NONE of the "popular" grade 1 titanium wire (Stealth, Unk, etc) in use is conforming to the 0.00350 TCR that the data sheets claim (and that most mods that have pre-set Ti01 functionality seem to use). 0.00370 to 0.0040 seems to fit reality better.

I start out at 0.00370 and go higher as needed, especially if I'm using a build with longer than normal legs, uneven legs from center post builds, or using atomizers with spotty 510 connections (kayfun V4, Lemo/Lemo 2, Subtank Mini, though to be honest all three of those models are in the PIF/parts bin now, they're just horrid for temp control).

even SE wire wizard uses 36.6. Dicodes set TCR for Ti is 35 but Im at 37 and might tweak it up a bit. I use 40 on the SXK...

Since cotton singes at 410°, would it not make sense to dry fire it at 410° and adjust the TCR until it singes?

Has anyone tried the numbers from wire wizard? Seems to me to work just fine. I haven't tried it with the NI200 yet but I notice it is higher then the .00540 at .00608 for NI200 IDK which is right but I do know the Ti numbers in wire wizard work very well with Ti1 but I'm no electrical genius like some on here. Just thought I would give it a try. I'm very happy with the Ti01 mode on the SXM. Just experimenting and the NI 200 is even more difference at .00608 and .00366 for Ti. Why the diff IDK.

It's under results it gives the number like this TCR in vaping range 3660X10to the minus 6th power. move the decimal point over 6 times giving you .003660 you have to enter the wire type and it's the same for all gauges.

Like with Kanthal it is 2to the minus 6th making it .000002 not in a range possible on the SXM SS316L Stealth Vapes is 879X10to the minus 6 making it .000879 which for me I would give .00088 a try.

I got some help on multiplying a number X 10to the -6th power from some one here think it was Holman. But I'm usually wrong with names.

I also am not sure if the reason the difference in the TCR is caused by the TCR of the wire at room temp and the TCR in the temp range for vaping. I don't know a lot of things about TCR but I know there are guys here that could explain that.

Has anyone tried a SXMM battery cap from elevated vape accessories? I just ordered one because I just spent 2 hours trying to get mine on my SXMM. With no avail. I finally just had to switch out caps between my M class & S class. Of which the one for my S class is a bit taller & not flush on SXMM but it does the job. First time I have had to do this. Anyway, Varitube caps are cheaper but are Yihi caps so I think it is a crap shoot if you are going to get a good one.

I ordered 4 extra from Varitube. . 3 were good. I'm sure they will correct that with the next generation mod.
Yihi seems to be listening which means they care are focused on delivering a quality product.

I knew someone on here had ordered several & most of them were good. My luck though the one I ordered would be junk. I will let everyone know how the elevated one is when it gets here. Suppose to ship tomorrow.

Yeah it does. I can't believe I tried for 2 hours before giving up! In the past though it would always catch when turned counterclockwise.

I think you'll get far better results with the NiFe30, even with this update, the low TCR of 316L makes it about the worst possible wire you can use and still be "TC capable", in terms of accuracy. 430 is IMHO the best choice for available stainless wire.
