Ok mine just stopped working, showing "SX350mini v1.2" on the screen and nothing is working....
Tried to leave it without batteries for few hours, plugging in to USB port with and without battery, and of course using few different batteries (all amp).
Any ideas what else I can try before sending it back?

did you test a reset, if it's like the sx350...

you removed the battery

you press the fire button and tu remains always press

You put the battery inside, in remaining press until screen on

you release, and after a normal startup

the variant which is a joke for $800 only goes to 4.5v. it is 7.5v and that should be enough. any update is probably just to 70 watts. the maximum of one battery. I doubt they update temp control but who knows.

if you get the nickel build right and it decides to work you still don't know that the dna is doing whatever you expect it too. to many variables in builders and builds. plus the dna fluctuates which negates the very point of that. yihi is at least dead on readings. dna has had it's issues too. scrambled screen, anyone? for starters. plus we don't even no that does away with some health hazard. vaping is a hazard and I have mine on powerful. yolo. that is coming from someone that currently has cancer!

People who have received SX Minis might want to double check that they are getting the 9.5 volts from a single battery that is stated on YiHi's SX350 mini spec sheet. Someone I know received one that only goes to around 7.5 volts.

you put a 3 Ohm resistor and you will have 9.5 volts at 30 watts ;)

more you increase the strength of your coil, and more tension will go up for the same power

Power (in watts) = the tension² / resistance

I have the SX350 and it rises well above 7.5 volts.

May be that it comes from its battery, should try it with a fully charged battery?

My SXmini is ordered ;) and I did not yet :(

You'd probably be surprised to see the actual relationship between temperature and wattage. It's quite easy to get extremely high coil temperatures out of relatively low wattage.

But then we all knew this from the days of cartomizers no?

Maybe yes, maybe no.
There are too many variables to make the implication that your post presents.

What kind of Dr. are you?

I actually went from powerful to soft. soft allows me to inhale much deeper, cool vape at 35 watts. I was choking on a lung hit with powerful. also the juice and battery are lasting considerably longer. there is no reason to impress with clouds if the vape does not suit me. soft is probably less harmful too. the few times I got the dna40 to work with nickel the yihi on soft blows it away. the dna40 may be technically more advanced but in theory if it barely works so what. right now this is tops to me. I am sure there will be a better one in a month. I am just so glad when china shows they are not just about cheap.

What do you mean "maybe no"? Of course you can get very high temps with low wattages...it just depends on the type and gauge of wire you are using. Vaping at low wattages doesn't mean you're vaping at low temps and conversely vaping at high wattages doesn't mean you're vaping at high temps. His cartomizer example is spot on.

...

My SX350 mods all go to 9.5 volts as well. However, the person having the issue of his SX Mini only going up to 7.5 volts is a very experienced, knowledgable user. The problem is not being caused by using weak or incorrect batteries.

Since using the SXmini, my SX350 box mod feels primitive in comparison. I must say that YiHi has knocked it out of the park with this mod, especially being their first attempt at an entire device. :) The build is top-quality. All screws, firing button, up/down buttons are stainless steel.. The inner battery tube appears to be copper. Nothing about this mod feels cheap, which reflects in it's price.

The firing button is "clicky", and fires wherever pressed. The real-time battery monitor is great for checking overall battery condition. I've already retired a few batteries from watching the amount of sag under load when installed in this mod. The resting voltage shown is spot-on to what my XTAR VP1 charger reads when a battery is installed. The mod is extremely accurate. I enjoy having a device which actually outputs what is set. ;) from what I've read, YiHi listened to design ideas from vapers in the States, and it shows... I'm VERY pleased with the device, and am seriously considering picking up another.. Hopefully, the prices will drop some.. If not, I'll still probably buy one anyway. :vapor:

EDIT: I just threw this Sophia / SnP tank on to show that the upgrade indeed addressed the 7.5v issue. I am NOT attempting to actually vape at the shown resistance / wattage / voltage. ;)
