Roxy, maybe it is my 'unseasoned' coil. I will keep vaping it off and on until my doubts about it are either confirmed or ... I get a surprise and the flavor kicks into full blossom! The problem is I get such good, satisfying flavor from my Rose2 and Aqua2 that I don't have much patience with anything less flavorful.
pardon a suggestion from a perfect stranger- get a silverplay rta. flavor-wise it is an absolute homerun. just remember to put your cotton into the channels and you will have a beautiful taste machine. easy adjustable airflow, simple build(dual coil), and you will get flavor from your juice that was buried but waiting to come out. at under $40 (or less on sale-got mine for $29) it is a steal. forget the fiddling with the kfl4- this is a simple tank that delivers.....

I think VaporDNA actually just sold out of them, but I could be wrong. I'm sure they'll restock quickly though.

Hopefully they will have fixed the dissolving insulator by then just poor from Kanger there. How airy is the Subtank let's say in comparison to a Fogger V4?

The K4 just seems too much hassle to get a good vape I can recoil and a wick a Rose in a few mins and it works. Just like the KFL+ just over hyped I was never a fan the vape was OK but nothing special for me got rid of them all.

The Subtank is quite a bit airer than the Fogger V4.

Woot! Military mail came through for me today and my SX Mini showed up. Took me a little bit to figure out the controls on it but the thing is kicking right now.

I've been trying it out with all my normal tanks since that is what I carry in my day pouch. Will throw on the Atlantis and Subtank to try out when I get back to my room later, along with a couple of RDA and RBA.

Only thing that bugs me is the buttons and tilt seem backwards to me at times. Granted I use it in "right" display but for some things the top button is + and others it is -. The tilt to the left is + and right is -. Other than taking a little bit to figure out which is which it works great.

*EDIT*
All my buttons are straight, grip panel is on with no gaps, and the very minor casting marks can only be found if you know where they normally are and look very closely.

That being said, I wish they had made the hole for the power button a little smaller or used something to take much of the play out of it. It doesn't wiggle up and down, but side to side has at least a mm of play.

The exterior of the 510 connection is nice but the pin looks like.... and doesn't perform as well as the one on my eVic Supreme. Once warranty expires I'm thinking I'll be ripping it out and replacing it with a good quality one made here in the states.

Finally the charging port needs to be a little deeper. About 1.5mm of the plug is still exposed when it is plugged in and charging. Setting it back about 1mm would make the gap minimal and still leave a little space if they are worried. However unlike what we see with 510 connections, USB ports are all an exact standard. Not one other device I have (including mods) has part of the plug exposed like this does.

I like the screen but it is very deeply recessed and there is plenty of room to make it bigger. Putting a 1~2mm thick glass panel over the screen would help. Also ether making the screen larger (can be about 5mm wider and 2mm higher) or centering it between the buttons.

Thanks for the input Peter,I have been looking at that or the Goblin. The Silverplay is a little large in height, but I may go with it anyway. I am looking at reviews between that and the Goblin. I would even consider a SubOhm Kranger, but I refuse to go 25 mm. 22 or nothing for me.

When I made similar "...but it's so big" comments about the subtank earlier someone linked me to VapinGreek's Instagram which showed off the 22mm subtank that is coming out soon. The link is a page or two back I believe.

Sweet-vapes has the Subtank Mini (22mm, 4.5ml) and the Subtank Nano (18.5mm, 3ml) listed on their coming soon page.

the good news is kanger is putting out a 22mm version of the subtank. even the 25mm version comes with a really nice trim ring which tapers to 22mm- i believe you would not find it objectional at all. it is a great tank with both decks(the rta side and the coil side) doing what they are supposed to do equally well. i don't have the goblin but i understand the deck is smaller than the silverplay- the silverplay is small enough so i would have a hard time dealing with the smaller goblin. i have vaped the silverplay constantly for about a week now and it has not had any issues(once i figured out where the cotton needs to go). vape-wise, for an rta, i believe the quality of vapor has no equal. the flavor just leaps out. i care more about flavor than cloud production- the silverplay can produce some nice clouds because of the varied airflow but it is the flavor that will win you over. for the money it is hard to beat- give it a try, it won't disappoint.......

Thanks! I picked up two Samsung 25r batteries for it while I was there. I need to get a charger now - they had Nitecore chargers but from what I read on here I would rather not go with one of those. I will probably order an Xtar tomorrow...

I got some wire & Japanese cotton (which I used to wick the coil) there but having never built my own coil I was leery of not having a tank to use if I screwed up so I am using the factory coil for now. Next Friday I will stop in & if they don't have any Subtanks yet I will get a dripper to learn on - that way I have a backup if need be while I figure things out...:)

Here's my favorite Lemo build, and it's so good my buddy here at work started using it, too, after experimenting with several different builds. 26awg, 1/8" drill bit, 12 wraps, mounted through the holes (not under the screws), and I have it about 2-3mm above the deck. Comes out to about 1.3 ohms or so. I'm running it at 22.5 watts. Use lots of cotton.

Thanks for the build details. I was looking for Lemo builds for my SX.

My current Lemo build on the SX Mini is a twisted 24ga coil at .56ohm wicked with KGD. At 40W/powerful it fires instantly and brings ridiculous flavor.

Damn, that's nice. Does it vape cool or a tad warm?

It's on the warm side but certainly not hot. I'm running with the AFC ring completely removed. Twisted 26 would probably be more practical - getting the coil legs into the holes was "challenging", lol. It does take a fair amount of power to drive this coil. It is fairly useless on a 30W mod but is awesome with the SX Mini. I built it mainly just for grins but am pretty pleased at how well it works.

wow! that looks fantastic. my old arthritic hands can no longer build so i cheat and buy the pre-made coils from e-bay. i get the twisted .5 coils and never thought to try them on my lemo. i will now-thanks for all the details and i can't wait to give it a whirl. do you have to put in it the holes or can you just capture it under the screws? does it make a difference? thanks for the help.....

For this build I definitely had to use the holes. No way the tiny screw heads would capture those legs. I doubt they would capture twisted 26 either.

Whoa...color me surprised. The Atlantis is pretty damn badass!!! Great flavor (no really, the flavor is shockingly good) and out really pumps it the vapor. 35-40watts is where this thing really shines, and it's looking good on or S(e)X(y) Mini!!!

Just had to drop my thoughts off with a quick Skinemax shot (I'm not in the hardcore porn territory just yet, lol).

Glad you like the Atlantis. How much airflow are you allowing and what setting do you have it? Is it getting warm at 40 watts?

I'm still tweaking but loving the Atlantis too. Moved to 'low' setting this morning and mid airflow.

At 35w I was using the second largest AF. Popped it to the largest AF setting for 40w. It didn't get warm but I didn't chain vape it for an extended period of time...yet...

I cleaned it and everything then just juiced it up 20 minutes before the post, so I haven't had much time with it yet...but the time I've had with it has been nothing but great.
