The SX350 would require the Hana style enclosure to be modded I believe, where the SX350 Mini may fit well. But still, the SXMini is a fine mod, great form and function with a warranty to boot. Do I really need to eat more than vape? Choices, choices.

LOL!! It took most of last month's vape-budget, but was well worth it to me.. :) I really wanted one in black though.. I'll more than likely grab one if it pops up to blow most of this month's.. I'm also a ProVape fan, but since using the SXmini, my hankering for a P3 has dropped considerably.. It's officially on the back-burner.

As for the Hana-style enclosure.. The display window would need to be enlarged to fit the Mini's screen..

The SXMini 350 may fit in the Hana Box, the SX350 you need to cut the window larger.

The display window in Hana-style enclosures would need to be enlarged to fit the SXmini... I have an SX350 box mod that some guy from Ohio was selling on eBay.. He called it the "Lightening Mod".. He sourced cases from China with a single button, and SX350 window. You can see it here beside of the Mini:

Nice review retrox.. :) The gravity sensor works best when the device is held straight-up.. Not on it's side:

Thanks again for the 1st review on the SXmini: :thumb:

Thanks guys. I figured I'd have to do some finagling.

I want one of these badly, but I can't justify the cost right now. Maybe in a couple months. I went way overboard during Black Friday and such. The hubs is already looking at me sideways for all the stuff that keeps showing up. I could just about get away with just a chip though because he knows how I tinker. [emoji6]

This is gonna be my winter project. Sweet!

I don't know if you have seen these Hana-style enclosures at FT for under 20 bucks:

IMO, the SXmini is at the top of best mods for 2014... ;) :) There should be a steady supply soon.. Hell, I'm kind of expecting YiHi to come out with a compact dual-18650 version soon. I'd be interested solely for the extra battery life, depending upon how compact and comfortable in the hand it would be.. It's hard to beat the Mini in that department.

YiHi does have the market sewed-up with their chipsets.. From what I gather, they refuse to sell chipsets to OEM's, except for Sigelei, Pioneer4U, and perhaps one other.. They also refuse to sell their complete mods to Chinese wholesalers, so I don't expect the prices to drop much soon. I wouldn't trust a cloned YiHi chipset as far as I could throw it, even if they were made available..

As for the ZNA.. Sorry, I traded the one I had months ago. I didn't care for it much.. Not to ruffle feathers, but I find the SXmini much more refined. :)

I'm was considering buying this and replacing its board with an SX350: https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10010986/1939800-d2-dna-35-7-35w-variable-wattage-apv-box-mod

It appears to be the same enclosure you have. FT has them in several colors.

Considering their prominence in the modding community and the reputation of their electronics, I think the SXmini exists primarily as a sort of showcase for their new board. I think this accounts at least in part for the overall quality of it. They wanted this entire device to be perfect in the context of what it is and what it's capable of, and I think they've achieved that.

It does bear some resemblance to the ZNA, but I think it's more comparable to the Andromeda (which is itself inspired by the ZNA) in both form factor and design.

I find it very unfortunate that we all have to be shocked when something like this comes out of China, but that's not really our fault as consumers. Personally I want high-quality gear regardless of the country it's manufactured in; and if it's a Chinese company that raises the bar, then so be it. At the end of the day, the bar is raised for everyone, and consumers worldwide benefit from it.
