How do you like that?

I "dremelled" only one side of the new carto I put in today, and it seems to be working well. However, it makes me wonder if one side of the filler will get all the liquid and turn out to be less than the best alternative. Full disclosure, I haven't had any problems with wicking or over-saturation in the single coil cartos such as this, just trying different approaches out of curiosity!

OK... so I purchased two new liquinator tanks. One for my mom (purchased on the 7/14) and one for me (purchased 7/21) to keep a 2nd flavor I like in it.

The ones we got for me and the hubby a month ago are nice and tight. Yes they slip up or down, but there is enough resistance that the tank does not slip off the cartomizer without knowing you are doing it. If I reach over to grab my PV and grab it by the tank it is snug enough to stay on!

The new ones purchased have no resistance at all, if you put the cartomizer in the tank and then put it on the PV (Buzz Pro's) knock the tank even lightly the tank slips right over the drip tip and comes completely off the cartomizer. It slips all the way down just as easily. My moms buzz pro arrived today and I went over to show her how to use it. I filled the liquinator and while screwing it onto her buzz it was so loose the tank slipped right off in my hand and I was taking a 30ml juice bath!

I came home and played with my new tank and it is the same?

Has anyone else had this problem where there is no resistance and they just slide off. I read through thirty pages of this thread and it has taken hours... I just can't read anymore! I read some posts where people are using orings to stop slipping, but I have two problems here, first will that work so it does not slip over the drip tip, second it sounds like an adapter is needed for this and I do not have one. Besides I am using the two I purchased about a month ago on Buzz Pros without any issues, it seems to me the two new ones purchased should work the same on the same device without modifications needed.

I'm a bit disapointed as I was really liking these, it is the first setup I have been truly happy with.... But if a second order is not consistent that may change my point of view. I am thinking I could have hit a bad lot where the opening is a little bit bigger.... but they were ordered a week a part so who knows. To top it off, I ordered mine with white and clear orings to tell them apart and I got the same black I ordered last time.

These are the 510 3mL ones with the drip tip supplied with them!

The ones I got yesterday are doing the same thing. My old ones fit tight. My new ones just slip and slide. For all the sliping and sliding they are doing they still don't leak. I have to be careful not to touch the new Liquinators or they will come right off. My old ones are snug enough that I use them to tighten and loosen my carto. The new ones feel like they have a bearing in them they spin so good.

moorea and Big Fran...contact customer service by calling them and let them know about the problem. It's obvious that they have a design flaw with this latest batch and need to know about it. Hopefully they will replace them for both of you.

Edit: I clicked on "like" just to get both of your attentions to this. I don't "like" what I'm reading. They need to be more careful because there are 2 other vendors making them. Also, I caught word that COV might get into the action.

I will just thow this out there... There are actually 4 O rings total per tank, the 2 that are plain site and there are also 2 that are on the inside of the top and end cap. 2 things to check would be 1) take off the top and bottom caps and look on the inside to make sure that there are o rings installed in them... IF they are not in there, you should see " Grooves" where they are supposed to be. 2) Make sure that the o rings for each (top and botttom) are perfectly aligned with the grooves of the inner caps, IF they are not, you need to work them in with a small long object such as a glasses repair screwdriver, dental pick etc... In order for the Carto to remain in place like your other ones do, those tricky little o rings have to be in the right position.

I hope this helps correct your problems!

just interested which carto's did you get? what size tank? know white was all that they had in stock so if you were able to order other than that it might have been a webpage ordering screw-up

Meh. So not impressed with what they sent me. Wrong color, wrong size, and a leaky carto. I can't even get motivated to peel the stickers off and dremel slots into cartos I have on hand because I'm sick up cleaning up juice that keeps leaking all over the place.

I've been using a Dremel 1.5" metal EZ Lock.

080596025816sm.jpg

That's what I"ve been using too, though I wonder if a smaller wheel might be better. The slots I'm cutting end up pretty long - a little difficult to control.
In the end it doesn't seem to matter though. I've cut some exactamundo professional looking slots and terrible sloppy diagonal horrorshows. They all work great.

Beveled the caps a little.

You know what would look really cool? Instead of beveling the edges (which is cool, too) you could level them like your first picture and then cut a groove or channel in the middle of the top and bottom caps. That would give it a nice look and leave room for easy removal.

Hi Hairball.... I will be calling tomorrow! It is very fustrating, my Mom really wants to start using her new Buzz Pro that arrived yesterday. I liked this tank so much and it was working so well that I did not order anything else for her, just the tank a few extra slotted cartos and the Buzz. I was going to give her the one I bought shortly after and that is when I found out it works the same. I'd love to know what two other vendors are making them. While I love my first two tanks, this vendor does NOT respond to emails, sent two deffective products and sent me the wrong color. Maybe a different vendor is the way to go!

I ordered White and got Black so Black must be in stock!

You mean cut a groove in the side of the caps?
