(link removed again - he gets paid for hits, so why reward him for his stupidity?)

Spouts nonsense from the FDA's study. Not a "News" site per say, but the name "Associated Content" could confuse some people into thinking it is.
Think you should go after the makers of Chantix and not E-Cigarettes.
Now there is a big rip-off, money maker, for both the Pharm. and the Doctors. Just leave ECigs. alone.

What I find totally ironic, and had to call him out on too, is that he gets paid by associated content to write this crap. Well, guess where they get their money from? From content-based ads that run under his article. And what's under there? An ad that states "The Advantages of Electronic Cigarettes" and another that says "#1 Best Smokeless Kits" selling starter kits! So in essence, he's making his money by helping promote the very thing he's BASHING!

Can we say hypocrite?

His beliefs, I doubt, would be strong enough to cut into his bottom line!

Okay, here's the skinny on this boy wonder Marketing machine. Anyone that followed his first post will recall that he bragged about being this Marketing professional. Well, that's a little true, he graduated in 2006 with a degree in Marketing Communications, but hasn't spent a lot of time in that area-

Steven Mottor - LinkedIn

His previous two jobs to his current one lasted 2mo. and 9mo. respectively. Now you would assume he currently is in a Marketing position, but no, he's a Grocery Buying and Receiving "manager". His resume claims, but what does Berkshire list as their management team?

Berkshire Co-op Market: Our Staff

I guess Berkshire doesn't perceive his value quite as highly as he perceives himself. Notice there is a Marketing Communications manager, but he apparently didn't even get hired as part of her team.

Now, if someone would drop them an Email and let them know what boy wonder is doing on the internet while he's supposed to be working, he may be able to update his resume again......

Ugh, saw your most recent comments on this article Kristin. Unfortunately, he's going to be one that is so naive, nothing will change his mind. I wanted to post again, but what's the point? I would just end up stooping to his level and start name calling....

People like him make me so mad. No wonder our country is going down the dumps. It's ok to make money off of the ecig ads, but addiction is bad! What a hypocritical .....!

I just couldn't resist. I posted the following-

"Hey Grocery Boy, Marketing Pro Wanna Be- Stop the BS. You keep posting this trash and I'll have to have a little talk with Art, Seth and Bob. They might like to hear what you do with your time. You listening to me?

What's the problem, not qualified to be on Jennifer's team. Too Bad."

Curious to see how long that comment stays up. Those three guys are the GM, store mgr and business manager where he is supposed to be working while posting on the net. Jennifer is the actual Marketing Communications Manager at the Co-op where he works. Should be interesting what his reaction will be.

I hate to bump this thread and I don't recommend anyone reading his post since it was nonsense and his job description has changed since last visited-

Steven Mottor’s Experience

*
Professional Writer
Associated Content

(Privately Held; Writing and Editing industry)

August 2006 — Present (3 years 11 months)

-Research latest technology that might affect our daily lives
-Create searchable content that will build a solid revenue stream
-Travel to technology trade shows to build on my expertise
*
Buying & Grocery Manager
Berkshire Co-op Market

(Retail industry)

January 2008 — March 2010 (2 years 3 months)

I quess the Co-Op finally figured out that he was writing anti-E Cig columns and product reviews on company time. I love the second line of this current job description-

"-Create searchable content that will build a solid revenue stream"

I hope those pennies that he earns at Associated Content are enough to hold him off till he gets a real job.

Funny thing, rothenbj, I just stumbled back upon this article yesterday while looking around the Associated Content site. I came close to responding, when I realized that this was an old (stupid) one and saw that it already had 93 responses.

There is a more recent article on e-cigs (different author) and I left a comment, was contacted by the author, and then sent him more info. He is interested in digging into the facts and writing about the facts. Some people are honest and are open to ideas that don't necessarily match up with their current beliefs.

I dunno Elaine. His last comment to Kristen seemed pretty dismissive and closed-minded.

Looks like she scared him. The problem is that the comment space is limited. I think Kristin really only had one comment to leave, but had to break it up into three pieces. To him, that made it look as if she was "bombarding" his article with multiple comments.

Well, we will just see what he does with the information. "All you can do is all you can do."

If he scares that easy, he's putty in the acronym organizations' hands....

Keep fighting the good fight, though. If it makes him think even a little, that's a victory in itself.

Bumping (reluctantly, but he was such an anti-nic freak) this again since I was bored and decided to check to see if Stevie boy had any luck finding a job. The week after I last posted about him, he had the following article? rant? cry? about not getting hired-

The Unemployed: Why Can't We Get the Respect Back that We Give Recruiters?, Page 3 of 3 - Associated Content - associatedcontent.com

Being unemployed has been incredibly difficult. This is because I have found dozens of jobs that I have been perfectly qualified for and still have not been hired. A lot of the companies that I have dealt with have shown themselves to be unprofessional in a number of different ways. The best way to explain this to you would be through sharing some of these examples. Several of my close friends have experienced the same thing and I am almost certain you have as well.

I almost left a comment that it might be his resume, demeanor or lack of objectivity but I decided that would be nasty. I would have never had the nerve to publish something like this where other potential employers may pick it up and look at some of my other work. I never was much for burning bridges in my career..... well maybe once.
