I have worn the finish off of mine in spots :D
Not a single issue with the battery door :)
View attachment 679167
I still use it everyday :)

i was just about to post a question asking if anyone has worn off the finish of there Steampunks. gotta say, i was a bit disheartened when i looked at mine recently and saw the finish was worn off in the areas that i hold it. until then, i was amazed at what a quality device we were getting for the relatively inexpensive price. i still enjoy my Steampunks, but i now realize "you get what you pay for" applies to them too.

How about the firing? Is there any delay on firing?
I'm going to to use this MOD for 1-2 years, do you think it's a reliable MOD?

I think it fires good, my Drag, Exus Arks, and Finder 250 fire a little faster.
If you want durable I would go with the Tesla, Smoant(Charon or Battlestar), or Voopoo Drag.

I will be honest and say that though I own three colors in this mod, I haven’t picked one up since I got my Minikin V2. That is my current favorite. I found no negatives with the Steampunk and have not seen one person say he or she regrets buying it. I might regret buying four (I have two brass) but know I will use the mod again and enjoy it.

Just little faster? I think this MOD is great.
How bout the leaking issues? Does your mod leaking?
So this MOD isn't durable enough?

Mod leak?
My mods don't leak and if they did I would worry because that would be the batteries.
The Tesla is durable, compared to most on the market since the other companies mainly use cheap paint and plastic polymers, pumping them out like rabbits.
The Drag is built as tough as the Tesla and fires faster, but to each his/her own.

The mod pictured is the Desire X.

I don't regret buying my pair, the issues were known (battery door) and I found a solution (silicone sleeve) but it's one of the smoother, most reliable vapes I own and firing has no lag, and TC works pretty well from what I have seen. I haven't seen a *lot* of complaints from owners or regrets purchasing one, but I think there isn't a mod around that may not have had *some* QC issues. I'd be upset to get a faulty 510 pin, but the mod door is a known issue (and I think it may be better or worse depending on finish-- I have one with a poor door, and one that seems to hold up better. Though I anticipate the possibility of having to wrap it at some point (though there are other fixes for the battery door that don't require a sleeve.

Thanks for your opinion Anna..
What colour has problems with faulty 510 pin and battery door?
So far that's the only problems with this MOD?

I have not had a faulty 510 pin, though there were complaints for some (I think this was the early versions, neither of mine have that issue). For me, I bought the copper and that battery door was pretty cranky right out of the gate. I have a silver/gunmetal steampunk where the battery door seems much better. I don't use it much, as I am keeping it as a backup for if my first steampunk fails (that's how much I like the mod, :) ). With that said, that's one person's experience, I don't necessarily KNOW that it's "color" related, I may have just been unlucky with my first one, and luckier with my second.

I will say, it's a testament to the vape quality that I DID both a) buy a second one knowing about the door and b) I was willing to find a solution (silicone sleeve, which resolves the issue) and just keep vaping it, to me the vape was that good....

I'm a big fan of the Minikin V2 myself. I picked one up here off the classifieds and liked it so much I picked up a second one from element.

I agree with that! For the price I haven't found a better mod. The Steampunk has been my main mod for many months now and aside from the battery door becoming loose over time (fixed with a small piece of clear tape) it has been amazing. I have dropped it a couple of times and the chip is still as good as it was when I first got it. I have the rose gold and the finish is still in excellent condition. Congratulations on making the switch to vaping! :)

Maybe - ;) I tend to buy multiples of something I really like and I really like the Steampunk. Actually, I have four - two brass ones. I plan to sell the extra brass and the stainless steel (nothing at all wrong with it, I just don't LOVE stainless steel even though the Nano looks better in the antiques stainless, IMO, than most mods of that color.

You mentioned leaking and I only remember one person on the forum who had leaking into the battery compartment from the tank and it turned out to the pin. Occasionally, there is a lemon in everything I suppose.

The Steampunk is a great mod and quite durable. I haven't had a battery door probably on the one I have used, the copper. The battery doors fall open easily if there are no batteries in the mod, but stay firmly shut, on mine, with batteries in.

I haven't used my favorite copper Tesla in weeks so I should drag it out and fire it up. IMO, it is a great mod. It just isn't my personal favorite.
