Everthing is fine. Still haven't spoken to my mom yet, she was supposed to be out a little this afternoon and no cell phones are working. At least I can still get on ECF.. as a matter of fact, I think I will go to the basement. I feel safer there!

pictures of property damage are already coming in!

Gosh, I napped right through that earthquake. Glad to hear all of you are okay and I'll be watching here to see if the others all check in.

One time I was in Los Angeles and was staying in one of those old tower Holiday Inn's. Shortly after I went to bed a 5.9 earthquake hit and that tower building and my bed were all over the place. Scared me half to death ... I thought it was my ex-wife getting in bed with me!!!

Once I found out that it was just an earthquake I was able to go right back to sleep.

Hope everyone is okay? Earthquakes? I did not know earthquakes happened on the Eastern half? All we get in WI is snow-frozen tundra and football. Not really interesting. Longing to move south.....I can handle the bugs.

We need you in the south Sdh!! You'd sure be made welcome.

I think you'd fit right in.

And I'll swat the bugs for you!

MY FIL is one of the friendliest southerners that you would ever want to meet. Well my BIL took him to a baseball game in Chicago a few years back and he was talking to people walking down the street. They all looked at him like he was a mugger and my BIL was embarrassed to death. He said that he will never take my FIL back to another game lol Ok well he did leave the bathroom door open on the plane when he went to tinkle lol My nephews were dying and it sounded like a trip that I am glad that I missed.

True story BTW :)

TT I have lived in SW Missouri and OKie land many years ago. I miss the friendly people. It has never been the same.

However, we built a house in Ozark, Missouri and those darn bugs were very big. We had a dung bug, grasshopper and cricket invasion. Add the tarantulas, snakes and those biting turtles.

Well at least we don't have the dung bugs here. Maybe an alligator here and there ...

Hi Padre. I am in VA and we got a pretty good shaking here too. Scared me so bad I really wanted an analog for the first time since I quit!

Yeah those gators don't eat much though :) When we lived in Charleston we lived right on the water and we had some HUGE gators in our back yard. They were not all that bad to co habitate with except when they would snap up one of my ducks :( They actually eat snakes though and will keep their numbers down a bit :)

Oh Salem!!! Our daughter went to CA at the age of 21 to teach. The next year when I went to visit her in Bakersfield after we came out of a store she said, "Mom, you shouldn't talk to everyone you see here, you aren't in Kansas any more!"

Exactly! That is not acceptable in many areas of the country :)

Well I made it back from the Doc's a while ago, and sure nuff just as I suspected. There was all kinds of pokin and proddin, and cold steel instruments.

And of course the askin of embarasin questions and such.. But after last nights primer course on here I was ready for those Poo questions.

So after Doc and I finished our chat about those things.... there was some more pokin and proddin, and a bit of lecturin too!!!

At the end of all that the Doc looks at me and says:
" Well Irene, I don't have a damn clue whats wrong, we need more tests! I'll set those up with the hospital" :(

The hospital...Oh Geesh, don't ya just know that round of tests are gonna be a party!!

So I still don't know... but I did get an assortment of real prudy colored pills to take...supposed to help I think... to be continued......

Bright Spot, when I get over there to that hospital....I am gonna have a Bus Load of really prudy nursies to flirt with!! :p

Oh the Doc was really proud of my ecig instead of stinkies . He was very encouraging about that at least.... :)

I am originally from Chicago area. My mom grew up in TN and Arkansas. She was a true hillbilly...bless her heart. So yeah she implanted hospitality in my soul. (So many other true values as well).

I live in what you call a snobdivision. Minus me and hubs. We are like the munsters to them....LOL I had a neighbor try to get me in trouble for having a......vegetable garden. OMG! 911 call the FBI. Well they did get ...... and put up a fence. The vegetable garden is behind a fence of cedar type bushes. One would have to break their neck to actually see it!

The stories I could tell you all!

When I lived in Ozark we had a freak snow storm...and you know what a stranger came by and plowed us out. (So I could go to work). Also, they didn't want any monetary compensation. It was a kind act. I have never witnessed so much kindness than when I lived in MO.

I actually made friends in the grocery check out line....LOL

Hi Gang: Checking in and reading all the posts. Was going to respond to some, but they were far enough back that I can't remember what I was gonna say. I do have Age Activated Detention Disorder.

Happy to hear the reports of no injuries from the earthquake. I think I read somewhere once that every state in the U.S. could potentially have an earthquake. Right after we moved into our house 8 years ago, there was a minor quake at 4:30 a.m.....epicenter was only 2 miles from us. And one of my dear friends who lives in a neighboring state called and asked my husband if I had fallen out of bed around 4:30...he said "I" woke him up, when I hit the floor. He is now an ex friend.

SC, I was hoping that they would find the problem....sorry to hear you are going to have more tests. But we will be there with you, holding your hand and treating you like you were somebody. At least while you are there.

I really liked your posts today, TT. Funny and sweet at the same time. Keeping your sense of humor even with the conditions there. I have had a couple of emails about the weather there.....one is about Satan creating Texas to his liking so he could live on earth, but then after experiencing this summer, he states he is going home...that Texas was hotter than hell.

And Salem, please get well soon. This has gone on too long for my liking, and know you are liking it even less. I am sending healthy vibes to you today......eat some asparagus.

Will check in later....hubs is putting color enhancer on our tile right now, and I think he is having problems without me cracking the whip. (I see a Miller Lite on the counter---I need to get him back on track.)
