Just so ya know. brother-in-law had new hardwoods put in a little less than a year ago and is already gettin bids to refinish... my hardwood laminates are still goin strong after 3 three years...

Gramva, I totally agree with you. We have been trying to compromise. Hubs will tell me "Do what you want". I then tell him my plans and he talks me right out of it. Darn! Carpeting and animals do not mix. I want to be able to vacuum/clean without feeling something is still in the carpeting. IDK I think anything but carpeting would be a better choice.
OMG! When I first met hubs he could have won the prize for the worlds ugliest couch...for real! We did agree on the house. I drew up the plan and he went from my original ideas.

I might have to check out some of those laminates. Last time I researched was a few years back...I am so slow.....
Well grams, wifey and I picked it together... we do alot of that... she always gets what she wants!!!

If you have dogs running around you may really want laminate. I have real hardwood throughout and really nothing compares to it at all We built this house about 6 years ago and they are still just gorgeous

Yep----SC has left without telling us about TT also. I think if it was a secret, Salem would not have put it in a post. Maybe it is the sleep apnea test. Hope he gets a good nights rest.
I am going to bed now Sd. You tell your hubby, Gramva said that carpet is an outdated floor covering..it holds dirt, germs, is treated with chemicals which are unhealthy. Tell him you will compromise....hard wood, or laminate ( I would go with laminate just because it is so durable) with a big throw type rug for color and warmth....that way you will get what I wanted.

I have been DIYing for quite some time now and I still torture myself for days before placing an order lol The worst part is having to pay multiple shipping if I can't get everything that I want from one vendor. That just chaps my hyde!

Just had a $3,000 bridge put in a few years back since infection ate the bone away BUT they did not check to see that the infection was totally gone and now I am having more issues! I am so ready for dentures. If I did not have a million dollars in crowns already in my mouth I would get them yanked!Salem I am the same way. I just order some premix for a few folks I convert/and or a secret stash when my taste buds go whacko on me. It would be nice to find everything at one place....and paying priority for a 3-5 dollar flavoring.....is ridiculous...I am too thrifty to pay that.

Hey gang!
I fell asleep in my recliner when my wife took over MY computer when I went out to the outhouse and she just left me sleep. Now I'll be up until 2 a.m.
My fancy, snazzy electronic rain gauge says we got four tenths of an inch of rain!!! Its not a lot, but its a good start!
Trying to remember what all I need to talk about. Oh, we put down the real hardwood floors and have been happy with that. Its in the main hallway, dining room and kitchen. We had looked at the engineered flooring and some friends had it put in, but my wifey didn't seem to like it as much as the real thing. Probably no difference really, but I don't get involved in all that.
The only thing I know about is the south end of a cow and north bound trains.
Oh yeah ...I was supposed to have that Tee procedure tomorrow but it seems they overbooked and aren't able to do me just yet. So I don't know when I get to enjoy that. Doesn't matter though because tomorrow I'm going up to Washington State. Techno is doing a nekkid rain dance and I want to be there to see ........it rain.
