The term E-Cigarette itself is negative propaganda. The word cigarette even though electronic associates vaping with smoking to the simpletons. I feel it carries negative connotations. Electronic vaporizer of vaporizer would be better imo.

Couldn't agree more I refer to my set up as a personal vaporizer.

This story happens to take place in Oklahoma, but I believe we will be seeing the phrase "electronic smoking devices" popping up in legislation across the country.

Oklahoma City Council member wants to consider e-cigarette ban « Watchdog.org

"Transfer" is one of the seven main propaganda terms first used by the Institute for Propaganda Analysis in 1938. Transfer is often used in politics and during wartime. It is an attempt to make the subject view a certain item in the same way as they view another item, to link the two in the subjects mind. Three months ago I started using a vaporizer, a very advanced version of an e cigarette. Since then I have not smoked a regular cigarette. I have also had the pleasure of helping my mother and father quit smoking Cigarettes, a great feat the thought of which I would never believed I would see, unless one of both of them were on their death bed, hooked to a ventilator with lung cancer. Our home is smoke free and the health of my father, a truck driver who smoked 2plus packs a day, everyday while he had worked for 18 hours a day for the last 30 plus years has drastically improved. I thank God for giving me a tool to help, not only myself but my family, friends and anyone who is willing to listen, stop putting the countless number of carcinogens from Cigarettes into their bodies.
A nicotine delivery system without the countless carcinogens from a cigarette is absolutely a great thing, for me, my family and yours.

I walked into a local vapor shop the other day. The cashier was helping another customer when I heard her say something along the lines of "I still smoke, ya'know these things contain antifreeze.". The customer then exited the store seemingly disgusted. Looks like anti-vaping advocates, or perhaps, the grossly misinformed, have infiltrated our vapor shops. I then contacted the owner about the incident.

What are some of the dangers associated with DHMO?
Each year, Dihydrogen Monoxide is a known causative component in many thousands of deaths and is a major contributor to millions upon millions of dollars in damage to property and the environment. Some of the known perils of Dihydrogen Monoxide are:

Death due to accidental inhalation of DHMO, even in small quantities.
Prolonged exposure to solid DHMO causes severe tissue damage.
Excessive ingestion produces a number of unpleasant though not typically life-threatening side-effects.
DHMO is a major component of acid rain.
Gaseous DHMO can cause severe burns.
Contributes to soil erosion.
Leads to corrosion and oxidation of many metals.
Contamination of electrical systems often causes short-circuits.
Exposure decreases effectiveness of automobile brakes.
Found in biopsies of pre-cancerous tumors and lesions.
Given to vicious dogs involved in recent deadly attacks.
Often associated with killer cyclones in the U.S. Midwest and elsewhere, and in hurricanes including deadly storms in Florida, New Orleans and other areas of the southeastern U.S.
Thermal variations in DHMO are a suspected contributor to the El Nino weather effect.

What are some uses of Dihydrogen Monoxide?
Despite the known dangers of DHMO, it continues to be used daily by industry, government, and even in private homes across the U.S. and worldwide. Some of the well-known uses of Dihydrogen Monoxide are:

as an industrial solvent and coolant,
in nuclear power plants,
by the U.S. Navy in the propulsion systems of some older vessels,
by elite athletes to improve performance,
in the production of Styrofoam,
in biological and chemical weapons manufacture,
in the development of genetically engineering crops and animals,
as a spray-on fire suppressant and ......ant,
in so-called "family planning" or "reproductive health" clinics,
as a major ingredient in many home-brewed bombs,
as a byproduct of hydrocarbon combustion in furnaces and air conditioning compressor operation,
in cult rituals,
by the Church of Scientology on their members and their members' families (although surprisingly, many members recently have contacted DHMo_Org to vehemently deny such use),
by both the KKK and the NAACP during rallies and marches,
by members of Congress who are under investigation for financial corruption and inappropriate IM behavior,
by kids who play Beyblades,
by the clientele at a number of bath houses in New York City and San Francisco,
historically, in Hitler's death camps in Nazi Germany, and in prisons in Turkey, Serbia, Croatia, Libya, Iraq and Iran,
in World War II prison camps in Japan, and in prisons in China, for various forms of torture,
during many recent religious and ethnic wars in the Middle East,
by many terrorist organizations including al Qaeda,
in community swimming pools to maintain chemical balance,
in day care centers, purportedly for sanitary purposes,
by software engineers, including those producing DICOM software and other DICOM software tools,
by popular computer science professors,
by the semi-divine King Bhumibol of Thailand and his many devoted young working girls in Bangkok,
by the British Chiropractic Association and the purveyors of the bogus treatments that the BCA promotes,
by commodities giant Trafigura in their well-publicized and widely-known toxic-waste dumping activities in Ivory Coast,
in animal research laboratories, and
in pesticide production and distribution.

Whew some dangerous stuff, makes me thirsty reading all that.

By kids that play Beyblades?! Really? That is kind of silly.

This post was found in an ancient ruin, possibly left by aliens.

But propylene glycol is used as antifreeze. No much for common automotive antifreeze, but very common for "RV" antifreeze to winterize fresh water lines, toilets, etc. So there's more truth than fiction that we're inhaling antifreeze.
Propylene glycol is also added to a huge amount of foods and beverages that people consume on a daily bases. It's in gatorade for example. Check the ingredients label on some stuff next time your at the grocery store it's in a whole lot of stuff.

IMO i think its all about taxes and the tobacco companys feeling threatened by e cigs. They are using kids to try and push all these regulations by saying the different flavors and colorful labels will entice a kid to vaping. As a person who started smoking on a daily basis at 14-15 i can say for a fact that no matter what they do, if a under aged person wants to do it bad enough its gonna happen. I remember being underage and standing outside of local stores asking random people and the neighborhood drunks to buy cigarettes for me even offering to pay them to do so until i found a consistent source. Its just something that is impossible to stop. The government could care less about your health and what method you uses to potentially kill yourself. If they did alcohol wouldn't be legal, that for sure is a toxic substance and its easy to tell by over doing it and puking your guts out then waking up with a splitting headache. Its just mind blowing that its not looked at as something that can save a persons life. Ive seen plenty of youtube testimonials of people whos health was horrible and after staring vaping for a while had drastic improvments. Just saying...im no Dr. by any means thats just my opinion

Not sure if this qualifies, but I'll post it anyway.

I'm sure many of you are familiar with, or at least have heard of, the new game Grand Theft Auto 5. Well, the GTA series is known for taking things to the extreme and poking fun at just about everything imaginable, and generally you are not supposed to take anything seriously. It is satire at it's core.

Well, there is this product in the GTA5 universe called "The Electro Toke System" and is described as an electronic pipe, which is used to vaporize hard-drugs into, as they describe it "harmless water-vapor". I personally find it hilarious because I know the reference, but at the same time realize it might not be doing the ecig world any good.

There is an in-game fake website you can visit, which I have screen-capped and posted as links below (there is offensive language and some crude product descriptions in the website, so I don't want to directly display the image). There is also a radio-ad when you are listening to the in-game radio, and I crack up every time I hear it (simply because I am an ecig user and know the satire reference).

Here's the main page of the website:

Here is their list of flavors:

And here is a description of "How it works"
http://i.imgur.com/KpdGayl.jpg

You gotta hand it to Rockstar for their creativity and wittiness, but as I said... it could reflect ecigs in a poor light as well (maybe... I mean those that play the game know it is satire).

Yes, indeed it is. BUT, when it is used, it is exactly because it is non-toxic. It is used instead of other toxic chemichals also used in anti-freeze. That's the little detail FDA did not tell the public.

Come to think of that, water is also used in antifreeze... :glare:
