Good to know. Thanks, retic1959. Yes, still loving on my HA, Temptation and Shadow (plus more). Will probably christen at least one with HA, and another with Legend.
Unfortunately I'm out of Temptation at the moment but TC is scratching the chocolate itch , I run dual coils in my Magma for maximum flavor but I have to order lower nic juices for it or the throat hit is too much for me . For some reason the identical build in the Aqua V2 dual 26ga coils in the .7 ohm range is a much smoother vape with my usual 24mg juices , flavor and vapor production is close to an RDA in the Aqua V2 . It's a great RTA .Good to know. Thanks, retic1959. Yes, still loving on my HA, Temptation and Shadow (plus more). Will probably christen at least one with HA, and another with Legend.
Mine still gets a slow leak from the insulator under the 510. I tightened everything up but to no avail
Retic, I still have not gone dual coil on my Aqua2 yet. I am still working on trying to get my wick just right, and changed ohms, trying to find the sweet spot for me. I am getting closer, but I can't say at this point, that I like it better than a Kayfun. I had it on 1.6 ohms initially. Last night I put it on 2.3 ohms. I have fiddled with it, and took the whole thing apart last night. I even pulled out the bottom insulator to make sure it had the o ring in it. I have messed with the wick constantly. I have seen photos of other people's wicks on here. But I am not running dual coils. I have the screw in the extra air flow slot. Over that I have wick, and it is in the channels. I have made the wick more full at top, and bottom. Less on bottom. Shortened it, thinned it. I still don't have it exactly right. I was getting dry hits if I chain vaped for sure. I opened the air flow. Now it is just a hair from being wide open. I still can't chain vape it. It is okay, as long as I don't chain vape it too much. But it is not giving me the taste quality. I think I still don't have the wick right. I am gonna play with it one more time. If that doesn't get it, I may just try the dual coil later. The wick looks saturated to me. But I see at some point it was getting darker, especially at the top side of the wick. That is when I started tweaking the air flow more, and more open. I guess I am going to have to thin the bottom of the wick a little more, and maybe shorten it a hair more.
I had the extra air flow closed with the screw. I have also messed around with how much wick is in the channels there too. I think I am getting close, but it is not blowing me away at this point. At least it isn't leaking. I have also adjusted watts. The only thing I think left to do, is to keep working on the wick, and keep at it, until I am satisfied with it.
I run a single coil as well. If you're getting dry hits, try a slightly spaced wider diameter coil (I use just 1/8" or 3.2mm) and trim your wick legs down. check out sedge's photos in the authentic thread. fat shoulders, thin legs. I run the legs all the way down to the pool, but keeping them thin is essential. And for future reference, if you ever experience flooding in single mode, I've been securing a small piece of japanese cotton under the extra airhole screw by poking a small hole and then stuffing the channels with that cotton. I did the split wick method for awhile, but this is better.
There's a video by, I think his YT name is CY Kim. To the best of my knowledge he's with footoon. He's got a two-part video up that shows a method slightly different to Sedge's. I haven't tried that yet, but when my Melon Fiasco is gone from one of them, I'll be giving it a shot. It's fat shoulders, not thinned a whole lot, but only goes into the juice channels a bit. I couldn't tell you without re-viewing the video the density in that upper ~20% of the channels though. It seemed to be working for him. I also don't know what thickness of juice he was using.
A whole lot of I don't knows and maybes there, but lots of info is more useful than trial and error.
ETA: eek! almost to 100 posts. It's the little things that excite me. I try not to spam. There's enough of that in the world already.![]()
I will try the Japanese cotton under the screw. Did you give a gap above the screw with your cotton? Or was it flush over the top? I tried it just flush over the top, but it leaked fluid into the chamber a little. I guess that would be considered minor flooding. I am not completely up on terminology yet. I have had better look with running the cotton from the spare side up, and over the spare air hole with screw in it. The small amount of fluid in the chamber is very minor, and has not effected the vaping. But I have been taking if off, looking at it, and cleaning it too. So it would have more than what I have seen thus far. I have taken it off at least every 1/3 of a tank, to 1/2.
Well I tried the Aqua2 with the cotton under the spare air hole screw. That does seem to help. I also put a little cotton above. It is not dry hitting at all. Still the taste isn't quite there. I am almost wide open on the air hole, with 4 volts, at 2.2 ohms. The MVP2 reads 2.2, but the iStick reads 2.3...the iStick reads the same as my multimeter does. Close enough though. I have HHV White Lie in there right now. I haven't decided if 3.9 or 4 volts is better. I can chain vape it. I changed the wick up a little again. I wonder if it is just as finicky in dual coil mode?
I'm not sure if I follow. I can post a picture if you'd like.
But it's pretty straight forward: poke a hole into the cotton pad, screw it down, stuff the channels with that cotton, trim the excess.

personally, I've found the most flavor from 3/32 (2.4mm) diameter and a rather low coil. but ymmv.
