I'm liking this rta a lot. But I have a quick question, I am running a 28 gauge Kanthal, 2mm, 1.4 ohm coil, how high do you think I can go up to on wattage before burning? I am running it at 16.5w now and it seems fine so far...

KK , the atty is really meant for duals , I would suggest going 6 wraps of 28ga at 2.4 mm ID on each coil , you'll need to run that build on the Panzer or the SVD 2.0 , also have you tried going with Rayon , I find it more forgiving than cotton as far as amount used is concerned ?Retic, I still have not gone dual coil on my Aqua2 yet. I am still working on trying to get my wick just right, and changed ohms, trying to find the sweet spot for me. I am getting closer, but I can't say at this point, that I like it better than a Kayfun. I had it on 1.6 ohms initially. Last night I put it on 2.3 ohms. I have fiddled with it, and took the whole thing apart last night. I even pulled out the bottom insulator to make sure it had the o ring in it. I have messed with the wick constantly. I have seen photos of other people's wicks on here. But I am not running dual coils. I have the screw in the extra air flow slot. Over that I have wick, and it is in the channels. I have made the wick more full at top, and bottom. Less on bottom. Shortened it, thinned it. I still don't have it exactly right. I was getting dry hits if I chain vaped for sure. I opened the air flow. Now it is just a hair from being wide open. I still can't chain vape it. It is okay, as long as I don't chain vape it too much. But it is not giving me the taste quality. I think I still don't have the wick right. I am gonna play with it one more time. If that doesn't get it, I may just try the dual coil later. The wick looks saturated to me. But I see at some point it was getting darker, especially at the top side of the wick. That is when I started tweaking the air flow more, and more open. I guess I am going to have to thin the bottom of the wick a little more, and maybe shorten it a hair more. I had the extra air flow closed with the screw. I have also messed around with how much wick is in the channels there too. I think I am getting close, but it is not blowing me away at this point. At least it isn't leaking. I have also adjusted watts. The only thing I think left to do, is to keep working on the wick, and keep at it, until I am satisfied with it.
Agreed , we always have the Rose V2 for our single coil builds !I'll be honest, I set up all my RTAs for the number of coils it was meant to have. Duals in the Aquav2, Orchid and Atomic. Three in the Estia. Singles in all my others. That always seems to give me sucess with wicking.
Cool , drop in on the Army and let us know how they work out for ya !"Out for Delivery." I am excited![]()
Yes, it is wasting juice. I was at the best taste earlier. It isn't bad right now, but it isn't great either. I am just about done playing with trying to run a single coil on here. I believe tomorrow I am gonna tackle a dual coil. This is ridiculous. No way it should be taking this long, and still don't have it lined out. I guess if I had less than an ohm, it would be better. I have not gone down that road yet. I have only tried 1.6, and now 2.3. Neither one has brought the taste I hear about. At it's best, it is comparable to a Kayfun, but cannot beat it. At this point I'd say Kayfun has the edge. The Aqua 2 has great qualities though. I am a flavor junky, and that is why I had to try this tank. The flavor is just not there for me. I've tried different juice in here. Maybe the ohms are why I am not getting the flavor. I have tried just about everything under the sun to line it out, in single coil. It isn't leaking, flooding, gurgling, or dry hitting. I expected the flavor to be better than it is. I hope this is a different story, with a dual coil.
