I am single coil only. But from all posts i have seen, you have to fill the unused channels with wick. Not what I was expecting, so have been reluctant buying one.

Honestly I don't see the advantage in running the Aqua V2 in single coil. But it's not really that difficult to split the wicks and run them into the 4 juice channels in single coil mode.

splitting the wick isnt the best method, in my experience. best to have a full wick in the coil.

and it's not a matter of blocking off the channels, since the tank holes do not necessarily line up with the channels and the liquid drips onto the deck all the way around. it's more about soaking up the excess liquid so it doesnt run into the airhole under the coil. a simple piece of cotton secured down by the unused airhole screw serves this purpose quite well.

I'm not convinced that wicking the two unused channels feeds much of anything to the coil, whereas liquid held by cotton on the top deck definitely gets vaporized since it's so close to the coil. the difference is apparent in the discoloration patterns of the cotton.

I've been using a single coil in the aqua v2 since november and I've found this is the better method.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he's saying to split the tails, not the wick itself, into four strands, one strand per juice channel.

In any event, simply plugging the unused channels at the bottom with a little wick (or even small plugs made from a silicone O-ring) works fine and if rayon is used for the wick there's never any problem with enough juice wicking to the coil.

ETA- be sure to block the unused air hole when using a single wick.

right, but doing so effectively splits the shoulders in half. maybe you guys are more skilled with scissors than I am, but I could never maintain fat shoulders + split tails without it standing proud of the deck and risking movement while taking the tank on/off.

the aqua v2 vapes best with fat shoulders, imo. plus, one wick split four ways is alot of labor & fuss with no discernible advantage over a simple wick job + a block; rewicking time is cut in half now that I no longer split the wick. I'm not convinced that the un-coiled wick carries liquid fast enough to matter and certainly not as fast the liquid simply pooling on the deck and flowing toward the primary coil, so I'd rather have that single coil wicked the best way possible.

I've put alot of thought into this :p

My reference to split tails vs. split wick was not intended to be an endorsement. I simply block the unused channels as I indicated earlier. Works fine for me, but I have to admit I didn't lose any sleep coming to this conclusion... :D

ETA I'm also having a bit of difficulty picturing the procedure you mentioned as being the best way to wick it.

Hi folks, I read the whole thread to find an answer to my problem. Got the cheap aqua v2 clone 2 days ago and it worked like swell. No leaking, great vape and good taste. This evening it suddenly always says "without atomizer" no matter where you put it on. And, of course, it totally stopped working. Tried 2 Cloupor Minis , 3 Vamos and a Smok Guardian e pipe.

Someone here had the same problem. Can you help me? What did you do to solve the problem? If I just missed the answer to the problem, sorry for that.

A very desperate Marmaduke:(

I think the best place to start is to see if one of the post screws came loose.

Hi,

Another happy Aqua V2 user here!
My Kayfun is sleeping now... I use juices with 30/70 PG/VG and the thing works like a charm!

Again, simple does it. New Coil, new life for my aqua v2:)

I still don't know why, couldn't see or feel anything wrong.
Sorry for bothering you.

Hope my next question will be a "real" challenge....no just joking but I'm quite sure that there is more to come from my side, so... beware!

Thanks for your help:)
