Yep! Absolutely loving mine as well. Will definitely be ordering a second OTM from FT after the Chinese New Year.
So what's the trick to be able to crank down the coil legs without the screws cutting them? I filed the sharp edges off the screws but its still doing it...
What wire gauge arte you using? All I've ever had to do was file off the sharp edges and polish using 600 wet or dry. If you're sure there are no sharp edges and the screw bottoms are square to the deck, the hole might be slanted. This could cause one side of the screw to bear down more and act as a sort of shear. If it's Ni wire, that's softer than Kanthal or NiCr and takes less torque on the screw. Lastly, you may just be over torqueing it. Once the screw is snugged down nicely, stop turning. Check the screws for tightness after dry firing, then you're set till next coil change.
If I use 28 ga its fine, but whenever I try 30ga, it cuts it. I can never get the 30ga snug enough without breaking it. I'll have to take a closer look the next time I rebuild it.
Update on mine: I went ahead and made myself a big ole piece of twisted 28ga. Fashioned up a .4 build and wicked it the way Trevor Jones did the Goblin. Great googly moogly. That's an intense experience. At 25-30W, she's polite with a fair amount of throat hit. At 50-60W it's almost as if the vapor is assaulting your mouth. Nice, warm, dense, dense, concentrated flavor. I wicked with (no surprise here) rayon and it will keep up until about 70-75W. That's too warm for me anyway. I have been running her between 45-55W for the most part, that depends on what flavor I want to jump out front in spoonlicker v2. Happy as a clam with it.

30 gauge is too thin for this deck, but it's a requirement for some reason, you can secure the leads under the screw heads. just watch for hot legs.
I did have to re-tighten 1 screw becuase I was getting erratice readings...it worked and no problems since then. The trick is getting the wicking correct, I am using a single coil build with the mummy wrap...taste does fade after a few tanks, so re-burn the coil and re-wick.
Another option that could help but will add to the complexity/hassle of the build is to make the legs enough too long that you can double the legs back on the ends and twist them much like a twisted wire coil is done. If you make a wire welder you can add a heavier gauge piece of wire to the tail but that's a lot to do for something that shouldn't even be a problem in the first place. Hopefully next time you have it down for a new coil you'll see something that is causing it.

After modifying it I think this RTA is the best tasting rebuildable I have. I would put it even above the Marquis rda....and that is saying a lot.

I just received my vertex and marquis a few days ago. Both bottom fed modded. The flavor off my marquis has been phenomenal, and may finally throw my veritas off the top spot. Vertex is spot on too. Nods.

I'll go ahead and get to work on it after I fix my computer. Long, long story short, I found out that one of the SATA controllers is nearly dead in my machine. Which explains a lot, but that's a story for another time and place. As a computer guy, I should know better about a lot of things like backing up and viewing system logs on the regular, luckily I don't get a bill for fixing my own stuff, lol.

sorry, n22. N 23 has the bottom airflow but like 100 options for side air flow. Haven't tried the 23 yet.

It's alive. While sitting at my desk and watching chkdsk do its thing, I decided to modify my slightly broken Av2. A few things: Whatever stainless that the base is made from, it's really hard. It took like 10 minutes to drill through. When all you have is a drill and a Leatherman Wave, modifying the delrin is much less fun than drilling through stainless with Walmart drill bits.
So, for those keeping score at home, I've put a 3/32 air hole straight across from the stock almost 7/64 hole. I've nibbled the delrin away in a straight line between the notches that were originally there and added a channel from the new airhole to the center of the modified, straight through channel.
When I put her back together, I put a piece of 30 gauge along the side of the positive post that was the most stripped. While not a 100% fix, it will make a very solid connection now. You just can't go crazy tightening the screw and lead. I built her up with a 6/5 wrap of 24 gauge on a 3/32 bit. Just about .24. She's best with the tank up high and at about 80 watts. That's impractical for me. It's pretty doggone warm, but the flavor and vapor density are outstanding. I've got her cranked about halfway down, which is now roughly the same airflow as stock and at 40W. Pretty long ramp time, but it's a very comfortable, flavorful vape. I think I might prefer the 26 gauge spaced build, I'll have to rebuild to check. I haven't vaped it in about a week since the positive post had all but given up on it. This one's a contact coil, but wicking Trevor Jones style with rayon, it keeps up just fine even at 80W with ITC Mach 10 max VG.*
The only problem I've noticed with TJ's wicking style is that if you leave the tank alone for a few days to a week, it will flood a bit. Not badly, considering that there's virtually no wick in the channels.
