Oh, oh , oh....I wanted to say. I did some mad scientist DIY mixing last night. Making juice for my trip and I got adventurous and made some Bananas Foster. It is maybe the best juice I have ever made and possibly in my Top 5 juices of all-time! It came out amazing. I took different parts of 3-4 recipes I found and made my own. It has 6 different flavors in it, talk about complex! now I need to try the TV version to see how it compares! But I am pretty confident in my mixology.

Oh, I posted too quickly! You're going to have a whirlwind of posts about this! Might I be first in line to "beta test" your new complexity? LOL!

Howdy, Darwinians! Weather was absolutely gorgeous today and the Darwin setting was just right (of course). I see DIY...still not falling for that but I did lay in a lot of juice along with some juice vessels (not quite prepared for an apocalypse so atty, ceramic and carto collecting is ongoing) and vape sundries like drip tips and adapters.

I figured out I don't have a Cannon 306 tip but an extended one from COV. Already have two of the Pyrex and Drew's Twisted 306's...what are the next ones I should try - Cannons or...is there another option?

Okay, back to trying to catch up with you guys! :vapor:

Very cool, CG. I am honoured. I'm sure you did an amazing job, and if your wife says it's good, I'm sure it's good!

Bring on the Bananas Foster!

LA Beta Tester~

Haha, I'm not sure how much of an honor it is:) But you are over-qualified for sure. Man, just got back from a meet and greet dinner and it's like 8:30pm and I'm ready for bed....lol. Good ole jet-lag. Early morning meeting with the always jocular folks from NGC (Nevada Gaming Commission), so I'm gonna chill and ignore all of the temptation outside my hotel door and grab a vape and beer and be in bed by 9!

OK, so I've been trying some new stuff. I have mainly been using 801 style attys for the year+ that I've been vaping. I recently thought I'd give the cartomizers a try since many seem to like them.
I started with one of the 801 mega's from Nhaler. I'm not really impressed. Granted, it has a 801 connection, but it is actually closer to 510 size tube on it, so it doesn't really hold a whole lot of liquid compared to the cartridge on an 801. Flavor seemed muted, but vapor production seemed OK, throat hit was fairly poor.
Next was an 808 mega from Ikenvape. There seems to be plenty of people that really like these. I was even less impressed with these than the 801 mega. Flavor was quite low, throat hit was very little, vapor production was again pretty OK.
Next was Clearomizer XL from GotVapes. This was actually pretty decent all the way around. Flavor was pretty good, throat hit was decent, vapor was good. So I started playing with wattage a bit. I worked it up to the max, 12.7. But suddenly vapor pretty much quit. I turned the watts back down to 8.5, fired it, looked at the ohms, and they were at 9.9, and volts were jumping from 7.5-8.5. Once I saw that, I quickly pulled it off my Darwin for fear of screwing it up.
Now I'm on to the new 3.5ml 510s from Nhaler. So far it's doing better than the 801 or 808. It does hold a lot of juice, but it doesn't seem as though I'll be able to vape it all, so plenty seems to go to waste. Flavor is pretty good, throat hit is a bit weak, and vapor is decent. But I'm still not real impressed.
I'll have to see if I can get a tank of some sort, to see how they do compared to the clearomizer. I do like the cooler vape of the 801 atties compared to the clearomizer, so may end up going back to them. I also got some the of the needle-nose bottles that someone had suggested here somewhere, and I do have to say, they make dripping pretty easy. Once I get my hands on a drip shield, I'll give the 901s a try to see how they rate.

Hey Kate. That's the plan I've been clinging desperately to.

Al, last week was carto week and this week I'm back to the ceramics (fluxomizers and clearomizers) and I've been keeping the Darwin at between 4 pixies and 6 pixies with them. I had good experiences with both the 801 (loved the fill - no packing down, airier draw) and the 808 (great capacity). I was happily surprised to read over in the Reo sub forum they're used with the bottom feeders and maybe that's where they'll work best to keep the fill flavorfully wet. And, yes, the whole 801 thing was about their threading more than their being 801-like...which would've been nice.

I'm really optimistic about the iGo because of the horizontal coils. I know already - based on the video - I'll be keeping the Darwin dial rolled back but who cares about numbers anyway? And, to keep things interesting also have HV Fluxomizers on the way to see if the very slightly higher resistance will make much difference. I'm sure they'll still feel like 306s because of the coil position. Actually, I can't wait to see the ohms reading.

Well welcome home! Tried callling the HI 3 times and got put into voicemail hell. Check the Roosevelt out. Anyplace there to have a little vape out. BTW - Jug of 75ml 50/50 12 mg plain, 15ml of cin roll @ ~11mg/ml and a Iken V2 drip carto sitting in front of me for you care package on the bar of the man cave right now. See you Saturday. Hear anything from SK?????

Sooo tired can barely see straight! Just got back to the hotel rm from a friends house. Going to work tomorrow am, Dr. Office I worked at over the summer. Nothing like a little vacation employment, :)

There is a place that shares the parking lot...trying to think of name...end zone? Like I said...tired!

Have you tried the 801 from Madvapes? Their atty is about 3.1 ohms, can't remember what the cartomizer ohms are but I think a little lower but they both have great taste, TH and vapor and the cartomizer holds about 50 drops. I was pleasantly surprised with both of them.

I've been keeping it between 4.5 and 6.5 watts mainly, except for my failed experiment with the clearomizer. Above that, and it starts getting a burnt taste.
After vaping on the 3.5ml 510 from Nhaler, I'll have to put it down with little flavor and vapor and throat hit.
Of them all, the clearomizer seems to be the one to use. I've had them for a while, but when I first tried them I had some issues with leaking from the base, so set them aside for a while. Since I was going through some of the other cartos, I thought I'd include them. This one that I tried yesterday didn't leak, and overall a decent experience, except for it flaking out at high watts. I do not care for the coil being so close to my mouth though, and if you use the plug that they come with, or the "whistle" tip that GotVapes sells for them, it just seems to spit hot liquid into my mouth. I put a drip tip on and that seem to help a bit with the hot liquid. I did notice that the liquid kept getting a darker shade to it as I vaped. I was only about half empty when it died, and what started as a reddish liquid was getting quite a deep red tinge to it. I don't know if this is normal, and would imagine that'll happen on a tank mod as well.
I'll have to look into the iGo;).

Nope, haven't tried them from MadVapes yet. I'll have to add them to the list of cartos I want to try.

I will be ordering some 801s from Good Prophets, a couple of their GP branded ones as well as a couple of their HV 4.2ohm ones. I'm hoping to score one of their new tank mods that should be posting today.

Got my order in at Good Prophets, and was able to snag one of their GP-SSR (Simple Service Reservoir). A pretty neat adaptation of the MAP tank. They only have a few selling today, so if you're looking for a tank mod, here's your chance.

Al

Thanks for the heads-up, BigBopper!
