Nano, you said you hacksawed the air holes I don't see them. where are they? Also broke the needle a bit. Strange they don't have replacements included. Have you ever done that? Guess today is nopt my day. :( Life is not the same without a darwin.

Boge Rev 2.1

I've gotten used to mine stock, and with the Cisco atty I actually like the draw alot, but I'm thinking you can:
1. Pry the contact pin in your carto/atty out a little. This makes it so you don't have to screw on as tight; hence, more room for air.

2. It's also possible open the Rev 2.1 and lift the brass disk that the needle goes through a little higher. The plan with either approach is to get the carto/atty to sit up a little higher and still make contact so more air gets in.

If your needle gets hair line cracks in the plastic part enough to leak...give it a wrap with teflon plumbers tape. Also, till Nhaler gets some in stock, I found this place that has spare bottles/needles in stock.

Hmmmm... how about a tiny little magnet or some other conductive metal? It'd kinda be a pain, but you'd only have to play around with it when you take the atty/cart on and off

Great idea...
For me, once I got used to it...no problem. I haven't modded it at all. I'm an 801 fan and kinda like the Revolution's draw as it is ;)

Soon I'm gonna experiment with some adapters to see how well they feed a stock 801 atty.

Ok, so I did another order, this time for an 808 adapter for the Darwin along with some CE2 stuff (cartos & syringes). Going to try this again, this time with pre-filled cartos I've been using and are known to be good on the LOW voltage side and work my way up from there slowly.

Going to take the Darwin over to one of our highly-educated and experienced electronic techs and have him take a look at the on-off problem. He's closer and faster than mailing it off back to nHaler. Besides, your tax dollars have already paid for this. :)
The guy analyzes and repairs classified electronic equipment on a daily basis, this should be a snap.

For any interested in the EMDCC (Ego Mega Dual Coil Carto), and willing to sit thru a long and detailed read: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...mega-dual-coil-cartomizers-3.html#post3786526

I don't know who actually reads those loooong posts, but  :p

You do, Neb. We know you do. :)

Darwin 2?? Wow, please dont do that to me... Im broke until mid-october...

Mid-October 2025, right?

Doesn't sound like Darwin talk to me!!

LOL, j/k :)

No it does not! It sounds like a Revolution. (Just get a VMOD as a back up, guys.)

Yup, maybe we should take it to the Boge Rev 2.1 thread, to keep the Darwin thread pure! j/k It started out as a Darwin backup sub-thread.

CB: I'm not understanding the magnet idea? Much of it is brass and plastic.

Credo: I see that if you raised the brass bottom, it wouldn't screw down as far, and leak around the four (small) existing air slots, but some cartos only screw on by a couple of threads. Raising it up would reduce that.

Kat: I haven't looked too close (and too lazy to look it up), but doesn't VMOD use a proprietary atty? Backup-wise, it is nice to use your existing stuff.

I also was surprised to measure one of the five Boge cartos that came with it, and the first one anyway measures 3 ohms. Better suited for the Darwin, than a 3.7-ish fixed-voltage device.

If you have not yet done this, I would not recommend it. Opening Darwin voids the warranty. If you have any issues, best is to contact Evolv using their "contact us" at Evolv, LLC. Read thru this thread and see everyone testifies how fast Evolv responds and how great the Customer Service is. Why throw away your 2 yr warranty?

Brandon has already sent me a PM about it, he's shipping me out another one and when that gets in I'm boxing up the old one - case unopened - and shipping it back to him for analysis.

The Cisco and SmokTech atties shouldn't leak as there are no grooves/notches in that stem/button where it contacts the battery...not sure about the Joye, Bauway, Ikenvape, etc...as I haven't owned any of those yet. So in theory, unless you have some really really thin liquid, or leave it in a hot car for a while till it gets 'watery', the drops should pool up in the bottom of the atty/carto to get sucked up into it as you draw.

Oh, I almost forgot another tip on loosening the draw...
Make sure the bottle isn't shoved up in there too tight. It'll cut off some air flow if it's shoved up too far.

True that on the Boge cartos...mine were from 2.8 to 3 Ohms as well. To me the Boges at their sweet point (around 5v) don't hold many more draws than a regular atty till ya gotta top them off. Definitely keep any vertical coil cartos wet.

Woops, I was not clear. When I said 'leak around the 4 slots', I meant air, not juice. I haven't tried, but read somewhere that you can slide the needle up and down in the bottle. More crappy cellphone pics here, let's move it to the Boge Rev 2.1 discusion.

Don't worry Darwinians, we still love you, :hubba: but just discussing one backup some of us have in common.

I just thought I would jump in and say hi to everyone. After several failed trades and used Darwin deals falling through I decided to order a new one. It finally arrived today, and I am just blown away!!!! I am NOT a high volt vaper, and this unit get me exactly what I want, when I want. Fantastic device so far. I was so excited to get it I took the rest of the week off to vape!

Thanks everyone for all the great posts about the Darwin it really helped me make my decision. So far I am in love...

Hmm. Guess Krispy and I will have a few things to discuss in a couple of days ourselves!
