Like all things vape related, I think these are subjective to personal preferences. I got a batch of the 3+ ohms clearomizers to try. I am not a fan because I do not like the coil so close to my mouth. As 302s are my preferred attys, I am accustomed to the vapor having some room to expand and cool a bit before hitting the mouth. I found a way to improve the clearmizers by leaving out the top two inserts (leaving the lowest one to prevent leakage), cutting the rubbery mouth piece at the narrow near base and inserting it inverted into the top of the clearomizer (so narrow is in the carto and the bottom end is sticking up). Then, I put an 801 style whistle-top on top of the inverted rubbery mouthpiece. It fits but not as stable as I'd like it to be. This arrangement gives some room for the vapor to expand and cool a bit - and I like whistle-tip mouth pieces too.
I look forward to seeing what happens with the new cartos Drew is working on - the clear ones with coil at bottom and air tube extending upwards thru the center (the ones where he said the plastic is cracking at the base). Drew, if you are reading this, perhaps if the external tubes were made out of metal, similar to regular cartos, but with vertical windows cut out, and then a clear plastic sleeve to allow juice to be visible thru the window. The plastic sleeve could stop just short of the base connection. This might allow metal, instead of plastic, at the base where the first batch are cracking, and still permit people to see into the carto for juice level.
I also find flavor varies sooooo much with different cartos, attys, etc. The Joye 302 at 8 to 8.5 watts, if airflow is "right" provides far more flavor than any other atty/carto I have ever tried. If I could get that much flavor from a carto...
