It's normal for the shoulder of the adapter to not be all the way down. It being crooked should not be normal. Contact Evolv directly and explain the issue, it might help to provide the picture. They'll take care of it for you.

Ok, send them the information. Also I have very often when opening the arm that nothing happens, go close and open for a few times and it works.....not what I expected from an expensive unit...but will inform Evolv as the vendor who I bought it from does not reply on my question why the unit has scratches..... not Drew...UK based....

Try opening the arm slower. It's a magnetic switch, and if you open it to quickly, it doesn't always register.

Hmmm... I noticed that my ARM has slight wiggle in the up right position... Don't really like that, would prefer it to be stiff. As I have been analyzing it for the good portion of the evening, I noticed a wiggle at the mini usb connection. Anyone else have that going on?
yea mine does both of those things, i read about it some pages back people asking about it and talking to evolve about it and apparently it helps durabilityor something. im guessing when you drop it if its real still and plugged in it could break the connector or something just a thoery

Just a thought here.....does the vendor where you purchased it show anything like a 30 day warrantee on their sales? Maybe ask them to replace it? Just thinking out loud here.....

yes they do, I asked Evolv already thxs... It also came scratched...informed them 2 days ago but did not hear anything yet. I am sure it will all be fixed...just don't like to buy something and then return it, really check the unit before sending it, the issues I have are external, somebody could have seen it.....

MJ Republic UK has this in their Terms and conditions section:

* Any defective, damaged or incorrect orders shipped will be replaced or refunded according to out terms and conditions ONLY if we are notified within 7 days of receiving your order and it is reasonable to do so.

Guessing that you got it from them....

I to do not like getting something and having to get it replaced, but it happends sometimes.....

When mine was new I also wondered about the "play" in the arm and USB connection.....but being normal it became a non-issue and does not effect the operation for me....I have comfort knowing the two year warranty is there and having used the warrantee twice, knowing that Evolv has shown to have stellar Customer Service.

yeahh, sure all will be good....send off a mail with the "real" issues:

1.) the unit has scratches and a dent on the backplane;
2.) the 510 connection is not straight and not screwed in all the way, which makes the atty crooked when in use and not bend back correctly on the unit when closed;
3.) often when turning on the unit, nothing happens, slow or fast opening a few times helps, but don't think it should be like that.

Here's my impressions after my first day of owning a Darwin. I love it. I got about 10 hours of use on the initial charge it came with. Which considering I was pretty much chain vaping a 1.25Ω Dual Coil carto at 12.7 watts the entire time, I think that's pretty good. I put it on the charger when I went to bed, and it was about 75% charged when I woke up 6 hours later. Which leads me to my first question... will any mini usb to usb cable work to charge a Darwin? I have a usb port in my car, and I'd like to be able to charge my Darwin in the car while I'm driving. Also, is it safe to charge a Darwin from a usb port on a laptop? I know some usb pass through e-cigs draw too many amps to safely use with a laptop usb port. But I would assume since it's only charging the battery and not actually powering the device that it should be safe. But I'd like to be sure before I fry my laptop.

Red Dog, about anything that will plug into it will charge it, some just faster than others. They're all basically 5 volts, but the current available varies, and thus the charging time.

Technically this probably isn't considered a true PT, in that you aren't really vaping straight from the power from the USB. It is more of an in-line battery. You are vaping from the battery, while it is charging. It's still nice, to not to have to disassemble your device daily, futz around with separate chargers, etc.

Thanks. I just wanted to be sure any mini usb would work before I went out and bought one. My Droid uses a micro usb to charge, but not all micro usb cables will charge it. For some reason it needs to be a micro usb data cable instead of the more common micro usb phone charging cables. So I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't have the same issue with my Darwin.

yes this is true too, if you let the battery completly die out, and then plug it in you will still be draining the battery and only get a couple puffs, i let it charge about 10 mins before i start puffing away
