This thread is crazy, I spent the weekend trying to get through it but only made it about 20% of the way. Is there a TL;DR version of the tips/tricks portion of this? Truth is, I am very happy with the Darwin and can't really see how my experience can be more improved (is there a place higher than vape heaven?), but if it can I would like to know :).

Most important would be if anyone came up with a lateral arm extension, or any kind of schematics for that (as I would have it made). My only gripe right now is I cannot close the arm with an ego-t on it. Yep, I do have a gooseneck, but its really awkward and not a good on the move option. Thanks!

Anyone using a drip shield on the Darwin? If so which one and what adapters are needed?

I am using the ones from Avidvaper. I have both the ego cone and regular. The Ego cone one does not allow the arm to close. The regular one works fine with the Darwin and doesn't need any adapter for 510, 901 or 306 attys (I haven't used it with any other attys). For 306 attys you need to use an XL drip tip.

I have my complaints about it, but the 306DCA is perfect for the Darwin and is my go to solution for using my Darwin with my vapemate or just dripping.

FWIW, my Darwin is new, only had it for a little over a week. So there might have been some changes but my arm can close with teh avid shield. There is only a hair's space between it and the body though. I really wish they would design the arm a little farther from the body.

@Drew: S Adapter!!!!!!
My previous post....

How about just an offset adapter with a built-in swivel and set screw...screw onto existing 510 and swivel to the position you want, then tighten the set screw......

Edit: Just in case ----swivel idea first posted here by me....... for all to see..... he-he-he ....there may be a BEE Buzzin around.......

You've got a different adapter on yours, I just use a shorty 510, so the bottom of the drip shield is much closer to the connector. I could get enough play to close it if I used a couple more of these, but I don't worry too much about it ;-)

FTFY please!! :)

Oops, yeah that's a 510 to Ego adapter. I'm on the road and I use the Ego-T, so I leave the adapter on so I don't loose it. :) I forgot to take it off. FWIW, the arm does close on my Darwin without it.

Has nothing to do with the Darwin, coils are getting gunked up over time, some liquids do this more the others, clean, see if it helps or R.I.P. soon

I've got a question about atties increasing in resistance as you use them with the Darwin. The one I'm using now used to show 2.4 ohms but now it's up to 2.7. Does this mean I'm killing it? Should I back off on the power on it?

Most likely means that it is heating up. Resistance increases with temp. Does it drop back down when not used for some time. Else there is some crap on the coil

OK well that sort of makes sense as I definitely vape at a higher wattage with the Darwin. I turned it back down though and it's still at 2.7. The atty definitely is clean so that's not it and has gotten cleaner with the higher voltage. We will see I guess, I like this wattage so it's going to have to kill it before I turn it down :)

Ohms can fluctuate as most can vary +/- up to .3Ω but that is usually when new and the variance from rated. Usually ohms will drop over time. I'd suggest you remove the atty and clean the threads and the Darwin connector, blow it out and see what happens when you put it back on.

Back to that 1" adapter - here it is with DCA306:

My carto's change over time as gunk builds up on the coil.....normal......just changed a 3.0 ohm carto that was up to 4.2 ohm....it went into "file 13"......
