Well everyone, I can finally say the words "I have a Darwin on the way!" I am very excited, it is a brand new Darwin donated from Evolv, and I contacted Brandon before I bid asking if it would have the normal warranty and he informed me that it absolutely will come with the same warranty as one bought from Nhaler. I am grinning :D

congrats, atavanhalen! you are about to get likely the best PV out there on top of contributing a sizable sum to a great cause!

This is probably NOT a problem with the battery. 14 hours is not bad at all.

Voids the device warranty if you open a Darwin

thanks, nebulabrot - definitely aware of the voided warranty upon opening. the only problem is that the darwin i was thinking of was bought off the classifieds and as of yet i have been unable to find the original owner (as per brandon's completely understandable request - i read about shady darwin sales in the past in these threads). still trying to track down the info, but if i am not able to, just wondering if anyone has opened their darwin and thus voided the warranty to replace their own battery. i know us vapors love to tinker, haha.

Nah not really, I would like another one, but if its a blue screen, if its used, it would have to be a great deal, or I would just prefer a new one, if it were a white screen, I probably would have thought very hard on it though.

My Opus has become my main pv, I wouldn't say I prefer it to my Darwin, but when i leave the house its the one I take, the form factor is incredible, and its just easy to hold in the hand, I think I may need to drop my nic level again because I'm going through a ton of juice and I'm getting over nicced, sigh, I just dropped down to 6 mg like a month ago, now what, 4, 3, maybe mix in some zero nic, sigh.

in a lot of ways i do prefer the white screen darwins too! the screens are far more readable when you are not firing the PV and i like the mobility of the non-locking arm--maybe because i only use atomizers with drip shields on it. i can definitely see tanks causing the arm to wobble, haha!

the opus is excellent, i agree...but the nerd in me loves the Ohms, volts, amperage, and wattage readings of the darwin!

I'm still here on ECF... sort of. ;)

I'm just guessing but it could be the resistance it's set at, I've only been using LR atties, but I heard LR uses up more voltage but I'm not really sure. That stuff doesn't make sense to me lol, but try playing with the resistance, SR and LR and compare them and let us know how they work for you!

CONGRATS dude. your gonna love it!

been running my new ZAttyU from Zen on my Darwin....great combo (it doesnt close but oh well)...i have noticed though that my battery seems to drain really quick when i use that combo...not sure why

thoughts?

You need to add some coils to it.. 5 wraps of 32ga. will give 1.7 to 2.0 ohms.. I use 7 wraps for the darwin.. came out at like 2.4ohms.. the battery likes the high ohm attys for sure..

higher ohms uses less amperage where as lower ohms uses higher amperage

I've never seen any hard science on it, but I've read that Genesis atomizer drain batteries quicker for some reason. True? Seems like it but I don't know for sure.

No hard science that I've seen, either, but genesis attys in my experience do drain my batteries a little faster (on the Darwin or mechanical mods). I suspect it's a result of momentary shorts occurring and causing an amperage spike. Nothing noticeable to your vape, just real quick shorts that come and go in the blink of an eye. That's my theory, anyway
