Dremeling into the arm may void the warranty. I'd suggest you try this first. I think the blue screened Ds had the sealed connector. I had gotten into the habit of putting sealed 510 to 510 adapters on all my Darwins - from the time the sealed ones were first introduced. However, I noticed, when I switched to cartos, that the air draw was often much more tight/restricted. I replaced one of those 510 to 510 sealed adapters with a non-sealed one and the draw got much better. So, as a possible approach to both issues, try a non-sealed 510 to 510 adapter and if it improves the draw, just leave it there and you can be less concerned about the threads. You are using cartos so leakage is not really a concern (unless you often flood your cartos). At least this is worth trying. If it does not work, and if you have time b4 leaving, you can try contacting Evolv via their contact-us and see if they might have any suggestions regarding this or the tight button on the other one.Would I void my warranty if I carefully Dremeled the air slots on the brass 510 connector a 64th of an inch, for more airflow (I have done this on other devices, with no problems)?
Should I stack up multiple 510-510 adapters, in hope of more air leakage? I know that multiple connectors give more failure points.
Ski: As the most international vaper I know, you said "get a Twist", but I have probably now waited too long! I'm leaving in 2 weeks.
Thanks for the info, NB. I too am paranoid about keeping the threads clean. I use a q-tip with iso alcohol to clean the connector well, then let it air-dry before using. Thanks for the tip on Revolver, Drew, I'll get one today.
I'll be in the bush for 12 days, will have (converted to 110) AC available the day before and day after going in. I'm taking along two solar-charging battery packs, one 5000 mAh, and one 8000 mAh (with two charging panels). In addition to vaping, my group is going to have several USB_chargeable doo-dads along. In the Midwest USA in December, it takes about two days to get them mostly charged (the 2-panel one charges faster). But this will be equatorial Africa, should be no shortage of sunshine!
Here's the village I will be staying in, blended into the landscape at the bottom...
