Non-disposable attys are just normal 4081 attys and expensive.
The disposable cartomizers on The E-Cigs Academy . They call them disposable attys,
are an atty with a cart containing liquid which will give you 250-300 puffs.
That does not mean that the atty is dead as well as the cart when the liquid is finished.
There is still a base air hole in the atty, so my mod should
be able to use the remaining life of the atty part of the cartomizer.
They are a 3rd of the price of a normal atty on that site....

I have Kr8 Cartomizers that I use with an adapter on my 510 that have been refilled 100 or more times. The advantage of these is that the atomizer is mounted vertically buried in the filler. The filler largley takes care of any overfill and seems to be far more efficient at delivering the liquid than the bridge / wick design. The condom filling method involved flooding the Cartomizer by inserting it into a condom (Protective cap) filled with liquid. When you withdraw it the excess liquid is drawn away leaving a perfectly moistened coil. The adapter is about 2 bucks (Health Cabin) and carts work out at about a buck each!!!

Thanks for the link.
I now see your point. If I used my mod on a carto the results could be stunning.
I need to checkout carto and battery adaptor combinations which work well.
OK more design investment required. ( I will have to starve the kids and shoot the dogs).
Back soon I have to post a mod to the USA.

Thanks
Petercro

Think laterally man!! Feed the kids to the dogs......... Or the other way around...

Cartz for $1.20 each here
5pc Empty Disposable Capsules for KR808D-1 In 12 Colors [KR808D-1] - $6.00 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail

Adapters $2.50 each here
Adapters : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail

Let the kids live.

I have to admit its no coincidence at all I've got another adapter on order to do exactly this with twin 10440s and came across your thread researching the build!!

Happy Vapin!!

OK, I just tested my bottle/hose for quantity dispensed. Turns out I get a consistent 2 drops per push. I now have a couple questions (suprise!):

1. 2 drops sounds like the right amount to me but what is everyone's opinion. Originally I was hoping for 1 drop/push for more control but I don't know if it's worth it to restrict the flow.

2. Liquid in the tube. I'm concerned about the liquid in the tube. At this point I'm just testing my bottle and tube freestanding (though held in the eventual position/configuration). Problem is that a fair amount of liq. remains in the tube and I'm wondering then if transport/movement of the unit will cause the liq. to flood the atty. My tube will be either 2" or 2.75" long (depending upon final configuration). Do I have to use a squeeze bottle so that excess is sucked back in or will the liq. just sit in the tube (and I'm going into the bottom of the atty thru a "pin" so that's my flow pinch point).

Appreciate any/all thoughts.

MastiffMike. It shouldn't matter if you deliver 10 drops as long as the bottle returning to round sucks it all back afterward. The principle is almost like you flood the atty and then blow out all the excess every time giving you a damp coil with no excess fluid. Using an atty and cart I'd deploy all the dripping type mods on your atty and cart like pulling the wick and removing the bridge etc. to get rid of anything that can give you that burned taste. Then you can also see the fluid hit the coil and drain back away (Might get a bit of splutter in your mouth occasionally)!!! When I was using attys I started removing all my wicks and never had an issue with using carts and never had a problem with off tasting vape unless I was cooking the cart filler!!

If your seal to your bottle is good and you start with an empty tube you should end with an empty tube (give or take). For there to be extra fluid in your tube I think you must be drawing air at some point. Could be wrong???

Hi Guys

It takes a few seconds to start.
But you can see the movement of the liquid in both directions.
When pressing the bottle and when releasing the bottle.
There is very little residue left in the tube.

Hope this helps.

The Heart of the Tardis is the same
I've Just re-configured the inside.

I've been testing my wife's video camera to video the Mk1 and have just downloaded some video
editing software for my ubuntu laptop. I will be playing with both tonight.

Also I filled the Mk1's bottle 3/4 full this morning and have been vaping heavily all day.
Used only 1/8th of the liquid and battery still very strong.

Peter

PS My thanks to Totally Wicked UK, 5 X RN4081 Attys Ordered at 3pm yesterday, delivered this morning.

"Clyde! WTF happened to you?"

"I looked into the Tardis, and it looked into me."

"You looked into the vape vortex, Clyde, nobody is supposed to see that!...Clyde you've got to stop this, you've got to stop this now! You've the entire vortex running through your lungs, they're gonna burn!"

"I can vape everything... all that is... all that was... all that ever could be."

I'll stop now. This is getting even too silly for me.:p

petercro...the design is looking great! Nice work getting it all stuffed into that box.

I've been away from the thread for a few days, so just to catch up and throw in my 2-cents on some of the ideas and suggestions....

Different attys models: The biggest thing I can see that is going to eliminate a few of the atty models is the airflow path.

The 801: It does have a huge hole that would be easy to get a tube into. However, the secondary air intakes are in a downward direction(same orientation as the center hole) around the outside of the threads. This is probably going to make leakage an issue. 801's leak like a sieve to begin with.

The 510: It has two secondary holes perpendicular to the center hole (just like the 4081), so it will be very similar to your current setup. Problem with the 510 is the center hole is tiny. The 510 will give a much better hit on 3.7V (4.2V).

Cartomizer: I don't see this working at all for the simple reason that the carto has no secondary air intake. All air comes through the center hole. If you stick your tube in that center hole you will just be sucking juice from the bottle. **and to answer your question on the carto petercro... the carto is not just a cart glued to an atty. In a (808) carto the heating element is turned 90 degrees and runs parallel with the length of the body. It is then surrounded by filler material. (this is why some <like me> don't like them. Always get that filler taste). The exception to this is the Greencig Carto. It has a reservoir that holds the juice then the heating element is at the top wrapped around some 'hair' that wicks the juice from the reservoir. To me this is a much better carto, but still only has the primary air intake.

The 901: This may be the one to look more closely at. The reason I think it may be the best prospect is that the secondary air holes are actually not in the threads, but up on the side of the atty body. To me this seems like the best place to have them for this type of mod. Much less chance for leakage.

1. Peter, as for images, no. I haven't seen anything on that. Basically, because I'm not concerned with images. I'll keep an eye out.

2. Highping, I'm presuming that the way to go would be the mrpuffer with using cartos, wouldn't it? Use up a carto, pull another one out of the bag, drill a hole in the same place, and badda bing, badda boom. Was looking over my atty collection before I post it to england, and the 901 I'm sending does have an intake halfway up the atty body, single hole.

That's fine if the end user want to break out the tools/tool skills with an attys change. But if someone wanted to make this commercially available, it's not really an option. Plus, drilling a hole in a hard, round object with a tiny bit is not as easy as it sounds. Could end up badda bing, badda boom, drill bit through finger. And again, carto=filler taste (IMO)

Yes, the hole halfway up the atty is why I think it will be the best option leak-wise. But the 901 does have a pretty small primary hole, and it is one of the higer ohm attys, so it's not a great hit on 3.7V (IMO)

Clyde thanks for your help on the images front.
(Second sight is always helpful).

Highping
Your input is as always, welcomed.
As at present I don't have access to other attys, (Good guy Clyde is sending me some)!
So your knowledge base is like having my own private encyclopedia . (AND I will use it)
Such as how tiny is the 510's center hole.
The reason I ask is with the exception of the 901. The 510 is the atomizer most people
have asked me about adding to my mod.
Oh and your absence had been noted!!!!!!!!!!
