I used the ECHO charger that came shipped with the starter kit. it matches others I now also have in appearance and labeling, and it is still charging other ECHO batteries without issue. One of my other ECHO USB chargers died, but they are cheap (in price) and I still have two others. They are from two different suppliers now, but still appear and are labeled exactly the same. I don't think the charging unit had anything to do with the battery overcharging, overheating and exploding.

My only real complaint with my new ECHO setup right now is these ECHO cartomizers. Whether single or dual-coil, at best I only get about a week of decent performance out of them before I have to get rid of them, even after a fairly decent flush cleaning. I did just get a nice little cartomizer flushing kit, but I haven't tried it out yet. I have high hopes for it, but these cartomizers will only last through so many cleanings before they aren't any good anymore, no matter what.

Billy have you tried the Echo Clearo's? They are much easier to clean and vape very good too.

Most of the regular suppliers have them. I haven't bought any in a while and found they are a little hard to find. I did see mountain vapor has them now with replaceable heads and are called iTurbo 2 but he is out. I-Turbo II (rebuildable 808 thread)

Northwest has them in stock for 4.50 each. CE4 Clear Cartomizer for 808D / Echo / 901 (Long Wick) - $4.50 :

VaporGirl has the ce 4 clearos for 5.00 and the ce5 with replaceable atty heads for 6.00 and spare heads for 3.00 https://www.thevaporgirl.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=808CC

I still got about 50 single coil Echomozers I got from Bill after D&B Gold shut down. He gave me a amazing deal. Guess I won't find out about those clearos ect for a while.

I still have about 20 of the echomizers as well but I am saving them for the hard times. I only use clearos now mainly because they are easier to clean and I can tell when I'm low on juice.

I wouldn't throw any of them out as the can be taken apart, cleaned in boiling water and dry burned. Once reassembled they vape as good as new. Like Los Marauder I bought 50 from Bill several months back and have only used about three and they are still in rotation after being cleaned a couple of times. What will really wake the DC Echo Carto up is higher voltage. I run mine at 4.5v up to five as they get older and need a dry burn.

Charles are the heads interchangeable with the ones for the ego vision 2 clearos. Where did you get yours?

I got them from Mtn Vapor. I would assume they are the same heads but never really cared enough about the Ce4s to keep buying them for 510. I only bought them because the echo has so little to buy for. lol.

Maybe I should try different heads? I did manage to determine the tight draw was being caused by the head and not the body. I managed to open the hole just a tiny bit and airflow was perfect but it's hard to get a good draw. The coil just doesn't fire as easy as it does on the regular ce4 or the cartos so I figured it was a loss for autos for now.

The Vision 2 clearo, Vivi Nova and the mini Nova all use the same head which makes it nice.

You can use them for about a month but you have to remove the filler and wash it separately and dry burn the coil so they are clean again. As a tip....do your best not to touch the inner cotton filler. It's amazingly easy to get the shells off so clean thoroughly. Before I put the shell back on I put on a pair of nitrile gloves and soak the cotton then rewrap the outer filler and put the shell back on.

I summarized on this page. But I no longer bother taking off the airtube anymore. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ego-type-models/189567-echo-thread-330.html

This may have been coverd already, but just to keep from looking it up, and because if nothing else things are kinda slow around here, This is my question. Why does North West Vapors say not to charge their new Echos on the old style 100mah chargers? They say only the new 300mah can be used. I thought the 300's were simply faster at charging them. Is this just a liabillity thing? Any chance this is the problem that happend to billbc's? Kind of worried that Echos from other sites could be this "new" style, and that would mean getting new chargers and keeping them separate, ect. Thanks guys.

I can't see how it would be a problem. It would just take longer to charge them.

Perhaps just another push by Hangsen to get us to the stealths?

I think you are totally correct. I've seen nothing but stealths lately. Don't tell anybody but I have 4 led-style Echos that are still in their sealed wrappers. S-s-s-s-h-h-h-h! Don't let the zombies know.

Have fun with those, Lulu. Lithium ion has a shelf life of a few years if you don't use them. There's lots of debate on whether putting them in the freezer will combat the degradation as well as the chosen few who swear they do have a charging memory despite the hype that they don't....

As I stated before, I'm not quite sold on the v-fast version at tropical vapors but should you go that route, the kit I received had a slightly darkened crystal tip on the battery. The one that my buddy got is good, identical to the echo had the regular clear/plastic tip that the echo has. My v-fast batteries have an extra tight draw but at least they aren't taken down by the mightiness of pocket lint!

I have good use for the stealths but they stay securely tucked inside my kuwako when in use, which protects the pinhole led.
