It's such a tough call. Really I'd have to lean you towards NW just because they sell the batteries that are tried and true and if you decide to return it, it will be because you just didn't like it, not because the battery was faulty. That and because they are close to you, which is a nice thing to support.

Vapor Girl offers her own version of echo style batteries with a long cutoff. Los Marauder has the most current version (military style-she calls them) and he reported liking it. You may want to bug him on his profile and see if he'll update us on how he's doing with it. In the beginning they were a little buggy but I think that's all worked out. The reason she doesn't get a lot of press is we tend to stick with the Hangsen originals.

But there are more and more batteries coming out with echo threading so this will become the spot to discuss those too, I'm sure.

Thanks Charlz!

Introducing the Smileomizer, 3.5 ml vertical coil at 2.5 ohms for the low, low price of $9.95 (regularly $14.95) per unit. The Vapor Zeus isn't out yet, though I'm not sure if it's needed. At V4L's prices, it'll probably cost the same as the Dial-a-Volt.

Really? The Smileomizer? And 10 bucks for 1? I really hope some other vendors get these soon.

But I still want one. :)

Has anyone been getting a weird flavor from their Echomizers lately? The last batch I got from Mountain Vapor just tasted horrible, as does the one I just filled up from NHaler. I filled up one I got direct from China and it's okay. It's vapeable, anyway.

I'm just not sure if I'm tasting the filler like many people complain about with cartos, or if there's something in the manufacturing process that is coming through.

I've had to resort to Stardusts again for my Echos for out and about. :(

try looking down the air tube with a bright shining from underneath. Check that the coil isn't pushed to the side and resting on the air tube.
You might be able to get in there from the bottom with a pin and recenter it.
or:
Remove the filler and pop the base off. Check the coil and check the silicone situation. We've had batches come through once that had about five times the amount of silicone in the base as should be used. It's easily removed with an exacto blade.

All the coils were good, though I still break some whenever I try to adjust them. I didn't pop the bases off, so it might be the silicone issue. Those nasty ones tasted like a pre-filled past its due date.

I'm even getting the taste a bit on my 306 and 108 cartos for my Sidesho, though it isn't as pronounced as the Echomizers. It's making me glad I haven't invested in a carto-tank yet.

Ha! Somebody might be developing a distaste for filler cartos. lol.

The crazy theory...the filler cartos were stored near a contaminate whereby they were exposed to something foul in the air. This foulness got absorbed by the filler so the polyfill carts all taste off but the clearos and attys still taste fine. I just checked with snopes and it verified this to be true. Gotta go, here comes my date. She's a french model.

:D

I think I'm going to take one of my empty Echomizers and disassemble it and clean it thoroughly. Maybe even scrape off some of the silicone inside if I can manage to do so without damaging the air tube. I've got about 8 of the things doing nothing for me anyway.

Worst case scenario, I just put my strong citrus and cinnamon juices in them for when I need a hard hit.

Been meaning to pop back in here. I just have to say what a difference a drip tip makes! I was hardly even using the Echo the first few weeks after I got it w. those awful whistle tips on the echomizers. It reminded me of trying to suck down an Ultra Light - so much work just to get a teeny hit. Then, I finally got a couple of drip tips and have been sooo much happier with it...

Yeah, those drip tips make a world of difference. Just don't get any from NHaler. They're difficult as hell to get on and off, unless you remove the o-ring which just makes them wobble in the tip.

I actually prefer the whistle tips on my Echo, but I can't stand the rubber taste. I still haven't found a good plastic whistle tip.

801 hard whistle tips. Search Results : (that's a link to the left....showed up weird)

When you get them, they come with that white piece of plastic. You remove that, then there is another white sleeve with filler inside. This is how they were made for the 801. You can pry off that white part with filler in it and it is a tight fitting whistle tip for the echo. As always, my suggestion is to boil it and widen the whistle hole with a screw driver shaft to help with condensation and for a better draw.

You can look around for your own whistle tips for boge leo/801/302 cartridges, but most of them are soft rubber.
