Im probably going back to wicks after this one dies. LOL too much of a hassle to make em. I do miss playing around with wicks tho. haha

I forgot about 1 thing that i need to tell u guys if you are playing with Mesh only. Initial stage before it breaks in Any more then 1/2 turns of your mouthpiece and its gonna flood. turn it open for 2-3 secs and close it to vape. After your mesh breaks in, it absorbs the juice better and you can vape it 1/2 open without closing it.

There, the Cons in the stuff. LOL

Ok tried it. Madshock not bad but I can't say I observed more vaper than normal. Taste was slightly different, and I used the juice I vape on a daily basis for the last 5 months (Rawr Strapple 80% VG). Not better but not worse either, just slightly different. I did notice gurgling initially when I opened 1/4 the juice control. I then closed vaped for a while till the gurgle was gone then opened again just slightly then more and eventually half turn without issues.

I used a closed (at the ends) rolled mesh 400 and a 0.16mm resistance wire and the coil I made metered at 1.5 after completion with the Ody closed up and full of juice.
Madshock it works, no question about it. Is it actually better than the normal wick and standard setup? In my opinion, and I stress MY OPINION no it's not. The work required to get this done doesn't justify the end result. I think people need to try this to see if it works for them better than wick.
Thanks for all the great tips.
Steve

Glad it works out for ya. I got the Flooding issues twice on different wicks. Keep going at it till it breaks in, vapor production should get denser.

Yeap.. I concur about the work needed to make this work and it does not justify the end result. You get more or less the same result from a perfect fiber wick setup. The bonuses that you can get from these are just pretty good lifespan and a seemingly denser taste and vape.

I too will likely to go back to wicks soon.

I'm not the manicure type of guy MrK :) Honestly I personally don't think it's worth the effort it takes to do all this. I think it would have had to be a much better vape compared to wick to make it worthwhile. It's fun to try new setups but I'm sticking to the wick.

Im just playing your hands are in better shape than mine will ever be... heck if I posted picks of my daily vape GG all the shiny polish people would have a heart attack... my GG is well used and has kissed concrete a few times but she takes a lickin and keeps on ticking...

I've gotten stuck on using the mesh over wick setup, mesh under the coil only. I've been experimenting with cotton wick, only cotton gauze so far, surprising how it does wick and not burn if wet. But because I'm so used to silicone wick I thought I would try less wick for a change. I unwound a length of wick and used 3 of the 6 strands, wrapped it with mesh at the coil, it wicks fine. Ive noticed the more wick at the coil, the quicker it gets dirty, Im thinking less might be better. I'll see how this goes and post more if there is any interest.

I am on my 3rd day using 3 strands (half of the original 6) no problems with a dirty wick yet. This is 3 times longer than any wick I've used in either the iAtty or the Ody. I rarely get through 24 hours on my wicks, so this has impressed me.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around how this setup is leak free with no wick in the side slits.I just tried it with double wick just to the edge of the cup with 34ga. wire and there are no leaks at all,i'm stumped.Seems to have more flavor too than using double wick all the way like I was doing. This is great, saves on supplies and tastes better.I love this forum and all you guys and your tips, where the hell would I be without it LOL.

The best part is that if you have dry hits often then you do mr's method and dry hits are gone permanently!
This trick allowed the use of mesh too inside Ody in a very easy way!
Thanks again buddy for this trick. It is one of the best :)

Krinkle's a genius that's how!

I am not a genius I just had a fortunate experiment... Imeo is the genius I'm just a tinkering satisfied vapor from the SVC...
