I agree! I've been doing DIY for almost 5 years now, and most of my local friends who vape...either DIY, too, or I make it for them.

Things like the Dank vape cartridges though, are totally different. From talking with several teens and early 20-something's...the people who usually buy the black market cartridges aren't looking to vape eliquids at all. They're specifically seeking the alternative stuff, for the buzz they get from it. They know what they're buying, but not what else might be in it, too. ;)

Get some kicks for it, that's what I did. I have several mech's for worst case senerio :)
What do you mean by kicks? Do you mean the mosfet fuse janks by chance? I’d been planning on grabbing some mechs for down the road so I used that as an excuse for the most part to pick this up. It’s pretty nice for $9, it almost makes me forget about the treacherous pain of missing out on a Dripbox 160 for $14...... almost.

I just said in the Random DIY thread I wish there were a checklist itemizing how much a person might need. I know it would be impossible to come up with something that would apply to every individual, but a general guide would be awfully helpful.
You can take a systematic approach. Start with a time frame. I planned for a high probability of lasting 10 years and may be 20 if everything works perfectly. I plan to mix and rebuild so don't have to plan for drop in coils and don't need pre mix liquid since I'll be making my own. So the only things that need to be stockpiled are atomizers, mods, and nicotine. A liter bottle of 100 mg nic will last me 4 years so I'll get 3 of those. I predict a mod or atomizer will last 2 years of continuous service so 5 each of those. But what if I miscalculated any of the above? I've invested very little so far so how about double up on all of it. If my predictions turn out right I'm good for 20 years and still haven't invested much (especially compared to what I used to spend on cigs). If you don't rebuild (yet) get some rebuildable atomizers just in case you need them some day. Everything else you'll need will always be available.

i'm getting real tired of stocking up.
Me too. Very tired of stocking up.

I do still intend to buy a few button-top batteries and spare coils, I think. Can't afford to right now. We'll see.

But, I haven't bought much of anything for a long time. The thought of it just makes me tired.
I feel like they’re all laughing at me now, it’s a big joke how I’m blowing all this money on mods and RBAs and stuff. We’ll see who’s laughing in a year or two.
Even if nothing changes and the stocking up was unnecessary, you'll have bought enough to last the rest of your life and will have lots of extra money for more fun stuff.

I don't believe the culprit(s) are in China, based on several things I've read not only on ECF, but elsewhere. You might want to read this, if you haven't seen/read it before. It relates to Patrick DeGraves' brother who died recently and the cartridges of "stuff" he was vaping...not pods. I've seen the same cartridges sometimes mentioned in other stories about these lung problem cases, too.

Appears I jumped to a few too many conclusions. That old style atomizer, probably slow selling may be overflowing somebody's inventory and he found a way to get rid of them for at least some money. But what stays true is a black market is likely to hurt a lot more people than a legal market regardless whether the additive is nic or T_C.

I stopped in a local vape shop on Friday to see if they had anything of interest on sale/clearance. The employees there, including the owner, had ZERO clue about what is coming down the road. I pointed them to some info and by the time I left they were huddled around the computer and kind of freaking out. So there you go.

I've actually made a very good start, though I won't know exactly where I am till I do an inventory (a project I hope to get to this week). I'm just a worrywart.

I brought it up while chatting. They didn't believe me until we brought up the info on one of their computers. I honestly thought they knew all this being that is their business and livelihood. That really surprised me. I would certainly know if it was my business. So would you.

It's stunning and depressing. You did them a service by opening their eyes.

I bet the people at the vape shop nearest to me are just as ignorant.

I don’t understand this part. Is this not low?

“The settings range is from 5 watts to 10 watts.”
Yes seems low to today's standards, these came out when people had two choices, cartos or drip atty's. I have quite a few cartos and drip atty's in my stash just in case :) You could use a tank too if you build to work well at 10 watts. That is actually what I vape at :)

Thats funny :)
I mtl at 6-9w and for DL I have I have an rdta set up at 9w
I do also have a DL tank at 50w and a RTA at 80w jst to see how the other half live.
I could be quite content at 9w mtl or DL.
