I do think pods are a great easy introduction into vaping actually. Personally I'd probably have tried one and just continued smoking. They just aren't the way I want to vape is all.
The shops around here probably sell 10 pods to new users for every one device/atty beginner setup. Most are just looking for an easier way to quit smoking. Pods offer that in spades.
I shunned pods when they were first introduced. I thought they were simply cigalikes in a different form factor.

However, within the past month I've tried a couple of pod mods. First was an off brand JUUL which I purchased as a stealth vape. Second was a new dual coil pod I received from Geekvape for review.

I know we are both DTL sub-ohm vapers, and I was pretty satisfied with the DTL subohm coils in the Geekvape Bident. Downside is the lack of true variable power and the relatively small battery (950mAh), but it was a very satisfying vape for what it is. Juice capacity (3.5ml) is about the same as my Crown tank (4ml). It's a nice vape, but it's not going to convert me to pods voluntarily, though.

That's the number of months we have left until the new PMTA deadline.

Personally, I've been ready for a bit over three years. This thread is mostly intended for people who realize they aren't ready yet but would like help getting there, who aren't willing or able to wade though 23,000+ posts in the Deeming Regulations thread or 24,000+ in the Stocking Up thread.
So your telling me in 7 months there will be no juice sold?? I talked to EcigPro (Bob) who I have been getting my juice from for 6years and he said I have nothing to worry about they did everything they had to do, he's only concern were the flavored juices, not tobacco. I live in Florida, I will go crazy if they ban everything. I don't do my own juice, I have but it was disgusting I thought everything was going OK

Hey, finally another flashaholic! I seem to keep my problem in check, though (a while after I start seriously considering a high-end ;)). I only have a couple dozen or so lower end 10440, 14500, and 18650 ones - maybe a couple medium-end. But it seems I start going crazy again once I need to replenish the ones that have started to fail. My newest crop after an ~8 year hiatus all seem to be excellent though. And I'm gaining the equipment and knowledge to fix/upgrade them now. So it remains to be seen if I get more, ATM. :D

All I have are Trustfire/Ultrafire 10440 & 14500's. They don't seem to be bad, really. Obviously overstated mah ratings, but I knew that going into it. They've held up pretty well for the past 3/4 years so far. But I might could be considered a lighter flashlight user. I mainly just keep them at each and EVERY SINGLE spot I might need them.. For before forgetting what I'm looking for, I can instinctively reach for one of the plentiful conveniently-located flashlights. :)

Hi. My name is Sailorman and i'm a Flashaholic. I hit my bottom when I spent $275 for a 1W LED McLux from the ECF Skunkworks back around 2007 or so when an LED flashlight was cutting edge and finding a 1W white LED was like finding a priceless pearl in your Hooters plate. I've been on the wagon a while with only a couple relapses and instead spend all my money on vapes. We flashaholics have the electrical savvy to work around any hardware issues the FDA throws in our way. And don't even get me started about RC planeaholism!!

Squeezer $25
Coppervape $35
armageddon $55
Dotsquonk $99

These are some of my less expensive but perfectly functional, including over time, mech squonkers.
One more step up to like $150, and you can get a Reo - perhaps the original vapocolypse mod...:)

The Vandyvape Pulse BF is durable, tough, has decent components and can be had for $15-$20 pretty regularly. Replacement side panels are cheap now too so you can use a different one every day and pretend you bought 10 of them!!!
Seriously though, it's a cheap, reliable beater and will certainly spare wear and tear off the finer model you can get with all the money you save. Plus, all the electricals are well accessible so you can always hook it up to a transformer if there's a Li-onapolyse.

It's a little too early to go crazy. In my understanding, much is still up in the air and uncertain.

Juice manufacturers had to submit a costly application for manufacturing approval to the FDA. One for each flavor and each nic strength. I've not heard that any manufacturers have certain approval yet. Also heard talk that all flavors except tobacco might not receive approval so that our children would not be tempted to vape. Heard that that "open" juice attachments like tanks and clearomizers that can be refilled may be banned, and only disposable "closed" unrefillable juice attachments (like pods or cartridges) will be approved.

You can stand by and see what actually is approved and available for future use, or prepare for the worst scenario. Problem of standing by will be a rush to purchase juice and gear if these items become unavailable in the future. Vendors only carry so much gear and juice and many will be left with empty warehouses from the rush of sales.

The naggiest thing on my mind re: disposable pods or other closed systems, as well as the EU decision to make only 10ml bottles available (for retail anyway) is the huge increase in trash. We'll start seeing these things all over streets, sidewalks, and just outside on the ground in general..

I ordered a vacuum sealer today so I can pack up all my backups. It'll come in handy for other things as well, so, if I were keeping strict vaping accounts, I would only add a portion of its purchase price to the ledger.

Good point. There's already so much trash and waste in vaping it's ridiculous. And the amount of packaging going into those cbd and other oil cartridges is obscene. Where's Bloomberg when you need him? LOL.
But now, instead of beaches littered with cigarette butts, they'll be Juul pods, some of which have floated in with the tide from godknowswhere. Probably make good fishing lures too and they'll be turning up inside sea turtles and other marine critters. Of course, that'll provide more ammo for the Anti's who have suddenly become ecologically conscious and are just as happy demonizing vapers as smokers.

I'm stocking up on rda's, rebuild parts, spare squonk bottles and strong nic. A couple liters should see me into the ground and I doubt they'll mess with batteries, flavorings, wire or cotton. I have non mech mods almost as old as I probably have years left, and I'm not worried about electro-pulse wave whatever science fiction weaponry, so I see no reason to go all mechanical. A couple good mech mods will do me.

So placed an order with Apothecary. 8 n 10 lbs PG/VG. UPS is the only option for shipping. Wiped out the 16% discount in a quick hurry. :) Oh well 16% is 16%. I'm waiting to hear back from Carolina Extracts to see if they'll let me pick up nic solution in person. Flavor list made out. I'll order from BCV tomorrow. The gears are turning.

Geekvape Bident dual coil Pod System Review

I've been vaping 11 years and just tried pods a couple weeks ago for the first time for stealth purposes. No matter how small a device is, it's not stealthy if you need to blow huge clouds to get your fix on 3 or 6mg juice. So I figured I'd go back to my high nic beginnings and got a tiny Ijoy VPC mainly cuz it's got a 510 connection, variable wattage and up to 45W to handle a little Wasp nano when they stop making pods or I get sick of paying for them.

I haven't tried salt nic but I whipped up a batch of 20mg and it seems to deliver the goods. I too doubt that even salt nic would convert me and I hope this pod trend (and the fda) doesn't kill the mod industry, but they're sure better than the lame cigalikes and battery tech that a newbie had to suffer with back in the day. Lipton Pyramid Teabags anyone?

Or the blue foam aquarium filter material we used in place of the cartomizer/cartridge polyfill. o_O

That's what I said when I got the ultrasonic cleaner. I believed myself when I said it.
