Definitely call your doctor. Give her a chance to have you come in to check your thyroid before you skew the results. She'll probably have you come in and take the test immediately instead of waiting. Either that or just change your dosage.
Eh, I almost called her today. The problem is I think she thinks I am some sort of "crack head" thyroid person because I was on that T3/T4 stuff, not knowing that lithium has issues converting stuff, and I was ALL freaked out about switching because my Low Thyroid Time before like, taking the other stuff was HORRENDOUS. Only (I guess to get enough of the already converted stuff) they gave me a SUPER HIGH DOSE and like, I don't like ANYONE messing with my thyroid Thank you SO much because it's usually a disaster. So I was on this super high TOTAL dose, with low levels of what I needed, but like it was kinda working.
I mean, on week one I sent her a thank you/update and she like emailed back that she was NOT changing my dosage, even a millisecond worth of time until 8 weeks because "thyroid builds up in your system" which is sort of true, but not really. I sent her back an email that was like ,"Um... I don't think I asked you to change my dosage I was trying to say THANK YOU actually, not asking for a dose change."
You'd think. She's a freaking thyroid cancer survivor or whatever, but I guess she apparently hit on the magical exact "right dose" or something but like so SHE does not know my suffering.
I also get the sense that she is the kind of PCP who would not be at all sympathetic to eating disorders in remission now returned and whatever. It just....
IDK I guess I could call tomorrow. I could ask her if starving myself and over-exercising are going to have an impact on my thyroid functioning and all that, but what if she demanded I go see an eating disorder therapist (They are so freaking grim. No sense of humor. I have yet to meet one with a sense of humor. I realize this is because patients have NO sense of humor either, but like *I* kind of do honestly, at least sort of. Sometimes.)
F*** F MINUS, actually.
I am not going to Tucson once a week to talk to a grim, annoying ED therapist, its expensive and I don't have time.
Although it could be rapid: "What are your triggers?" "Not enough thyroid." "What is your obstacle?"
YOU know, maybe this is not such a big deal. I deal with TONS of patients who are far worse off than me. I mean at least I have a certain level of insight.
Yep, I will ask the question "So is it unsafe/will it affect my levels if I starve myself and over eat the next 6 weeks because that is what I happen to be doing since my 15 lb weight gain in 3 weeks which like DOES NOT HAPPEN IF YOU ARE PREGNANT even.
