It takes a village....

Blueberry 8%
Vanilla cake 11%

Today is a good day,now i feel like i'm "In the loop" haha, all this talk of cream cheese icing had me feeling left out,and after finding out what i seen at walmart was the emulsion,i was planning on ordering it here in a few weeks after i get some more tfa stuff.I got my ebay bucks today, and was browsing to see what i could get with my whopping $8 haha, and searched for lorann, and found the 1oz. cream cheese flavor for $7 shipped,so i got a great deal because it was free, and free is always good. Now,next week i can catch up on a few more of these recipes that pop up so fast i cant keep track of them haha.

I think that was my suggested recipe, and I don't believe I ever actually mixed that one up. I think it is worth collecting and would certainly be a good starting point for this flavoring. We all have slightly different tastes, so all recipes require some tweaking to work with our individual taste sensibilities, so I would say yes to this one. Good luck! :toast:

By the way, YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE ON A LIST TO PARTICIPATE, and everyone is invited to participate. Anyone can post to this topic anytime, and we sincerely welcome all your participation! Don't let: :tumble::tumble: :tumble:

I made up a small 10ml bottle of Bill's pink starburst this morning before heading to the office.can't wait to try it :)

As I am off wont to do, I tasted the liquid and I think I may have over-sweetened it. I don't have cotton candy but I do have EM solution (10% in pg) and boy is it sweet! I think my solution is way stronger than the tfa flavor concentrate but I won't know until I rewick my atty...

On the EM mixture note... I keep reading different suggestions on the web on how to mix the EM crystals to make the 10% EM TFA sells premixed as Cotton Candy. Last one was 1/4 teaspoon to 15ml PG from Kimberly owner of OSDIY. Still confusing because a 1ml of PG is 1.036 grams. So wouldn't 10% be 1 gram EM crystals to 9ml.

EDIT:lol OSDIY site says 1/4 teaspoon to 10ml. (1.25 grams EM crystals to 10ml) this is closer to what I was suggesting.

Does anyone know what the sucralose to PG ratio is for the TFA Sweetener flavor? Perhaps that's proprietary information? I don't know, but would sure like to take my EzSweetZ sucralose and dilute it with PG so I'm on the same page with you all.

Tim

I'm not sure what the ratio is that they use,but i have been diluting my ezsweetz by mixing 1ml of ezsweetz with 9ml of pg.It's still really sweet, but not as much as it is without diluting.I used to use it straight, that's some sweeeeet stuff haha, and it also gunks up a wick and coil super fast when using straight, but not too bad after being cut with pg.

Also,i seen your other post about the tobacco flavors. If your really into that type of flavor, have you tried any of the methods for tobacco extraction listed at the top of the diy section?I didn't like any of the tfa tobacco flavors i tried, other than ry4 double,so i gave up on them pretty fast, but here lately i have been really wanting a good tobacco flavor,so i started reading the posts in that section.I haven't made up a juice with them yet,so i can't say how they taste, but i made up a straight tobacco extract and a black & mild extract last night,i will make a mix with each tommorow, but everyone who posts about them there say they taste exactly like the tobacco that you use to make them.If these are good,i can see alot of potential using them both straight and as flavors for other mixes, plus i think these will really help with those cravings i posted about back a week or so ago.

i am by far a vet in this diy stuff that i now love and see myself spending hundreds of dollars on lol. but as time goes by im getting better with practice. i bought 100 1ml syringes off ebay for $11 shipped and that helps out a ton for small test batches. i also bought a ton of bottles in various sizes so no more washing out my bottles except for my glass ones.

bill i have a question for you. i have nicotine from wizard labs. i bought it earlier this year. it says expires on 9/23/14. does nic really go bad that quick? yes it has oxidized some but ive been using it and all is fine. im sure it has lost some of its strength also but im fine with that. i have about 100mls left of it. would you still use it?

Surely the only way to do it accurately is by weight?? - 1 gram of EM crystals to 9 grams of PG = 10% EM solution.
If you used 10 grams of PG you would end up with a 9% solution (I think).

Not sure Bill will see that so ..... Do you store it in the freezer? That is the suggested method (in glass bottles). If so it will last for years with minimal degradation. If it's been left at room temp, unless it smells bad (compared to when you got it) or is making your mixes taste funky I personally would go ahead and use it.

I have done a number of home extractions of pipe tobaccos. The hardest part for me was learning the different nuances of the different types of tobacco - Virginia, Burley, Cavendish, Latakia, Perique, etc. I think I have it now. I have done a number of "flavored" tobaccos and find they don't always come out as you expect. Sometimes after a good steep they shine! But synthetic tobacco flavors do nothing for me so far. A good NET hits the spot for those urge times.

Sorry, back to TFA...

The only thing I know for sure is that the potency changes after 18 months or so. If you bought it earlier this year, you should be fine.

Great idea Bill, I know you've been trying to find a way to get the community to be more active. I think you stumbled on a winner here!

I'll throw my name in, but we'll see if I actually get to mix anything. As is often the case, payday came and went, along with most of the funds. I'll try and get a nice TFA order in regardless, and I'm intrigued by the danish idea - I've only vaped pure fruits and a few of mints/methols, never a true dessert. Danishes are delicious though, so this is clearly a great first choice!

Hello all!

Fantastic response to the Vape Meet here online. Thought I would clarify a few points.

The vape meet starts tomorrow and ends on Sunday, October 19, 2014. I know that not everyone has everything they may need, so that's why we have 15 days to figure out what we want to do, and enough time to get to it.

We will be trying to construct a Danish recipe. The recipes that get posted will only have the flavorings and their percentages. We don't expect any mixes to have more than 30% flavoring, but that is up to you.

The most important part of these efforts is our communications here on this thread. Ask questions, provide suggestions, provide mixes, etc. Just keep track of what you're doing and tell us all about it.

There is no one way, or final recipe. In fact, everyone may end up with a different recipe, and that's fine, more food for thought, and a lot of options for us all to try.

I see the flavoring as the doughy bread component and the sweet internal component. As such, the flavoring will be about 50/50 for the two components, but this can vary wildly by taste.

Use the taste test 100 drop method to test creations and test them immediately, and report findings. After flavor bonding and steeping, feel free to taste test again and report any changes, or lack thereof.

So, communication and supporting our community are the most important elements. IF we end up making the best Danish on Earth, well, then, lucky us!

We have no idea how this will work out as I'm not aware of similar efforts anywhere on ECF, so we'll just have to see and play it all by ear, so to speak.

There is no right or wrong, just contributions here. The journey is what is important, and helping one another.

There is NO LIST. Anyone can participate and we everyone to do just that. We have the common goal of making the best Danish we can, and there is no one flavoring, or fruit, or what have you. All contributions are welcome! :toast:

There may be other elements and good advice, but this is all I can think of now. :D

See you tomorrow!
