I'm with Bill on this, Stainless steal is 99% of what I use! 1derlin and 1 SS lined stone that I just got from a friend. Aluminum taste funny to me. Fortunately the ones that came with my Stingrays have a, copper on one and brass on the other, insert into SS so I don't get any bad taste of them.

Stone huh? Derlin in my head is just "plastic", so I'm not sure what that'd be like. The stone I'd be interested in experiencing though!

It's pretentious of me, as a newcomer to this thread, to even offer a possible remedy for the lack of pastry flavor in Cinnamon Danish, but I stumbled on this while playing with our Danish experiment. If I add 1/2% to 1% of TFA Hazelnut, or Hazelnut Praline for the sweettooths, depending on a base combo of 15% to 30%, I get a slight puff-pastry flavor. You may or may not! You might give it a try. Don't overdue it!:):2c:

Connelley (Rockhunter)

Connelly,

Nothing with information is pretentious at ALL! We LOVE to get info from others. Not only does it give us something to try, it also sets our minds a blazin' as to maybes and could be's! That my friend, is a good thing. Keep on participating-that's what we want.

As far as your Hazelnut/HP flavoring-I think you just put me onto the "lets start a new order" thing LOL Thanks!

Ren according to the TFA website their menthol premix...

Alert!!!!!
The price of menthol crystals has increased dramatically
You can purchase menthol crystals directly from our supplier (Vigon International) to get a better price.

Unfortunately, they do not sell it diluted in PG, but you can duplicate our menthol blend by the ratio:

for 1000 grams
660 grams menthol crystals
340 grams PG

So about 1/3 PG and 2/3 Menthol Crystals by weight.

Update* I googled Vigon International and I ended up here https://02d6969.netsolstores.com/mentholcrystalsnaturalfcc.aspx I just may have an ounce of menthol crystals(sample) coming for free.:D:toast::mail:
If so that will net me just over 40ml of premixed TFA menthol

Ok, good info. Don't know why I didn't back track and look harder there. Duh! But, I'm fixin' to go to that link right now and see what I can find!!!!!!! Thank you.

Pretentious? Hardly. I think this might be the breakthrough we need, my friend. The Hazelnut Praline may very well, at low percentages, mimic a missing flavor in our danishes, without going to nutty on us. You may be on to something here. I am going to try this next. To me, if I use a 30% flavoring mix, about 1% or less would be that slight pastry dough/bread, what have you, that is missing. It may be a combination of flavorings with the Hazelnut Praline, but this sounds very promising. What took you so long? :D :toast:

Frankly Mrs C, I can see this yam flavoring becoming a terrific "bakery" juice. I've not pushed my brain to the % phase of it, but my dream of that flavor includes Brown Sugar (Extra), Butter, Vanilla Swirl, Holiday Spice and an oh so slight amount of Cinnamon Spice.

I just found that TFA has Woodruff Spice. Also, I'm sure no one has this, if they do, I'd be impressed! But, if you've never used this before, I highly suggest you look to see if you may be familiar (by another name) with: Waldmeistersirup. It's a European thing. We used to have it on pancakes and ice cream :) YUMMY!

I have Woodruff Spice but have never tried it yet, research project for me, will do some testing on it tomorrow.

Yes! I'll order some Sweet Woodruff. It was the wonderful accent in May wine. It used to be available every spring(the wine). Can't wait to add it to my flavor stash!
Connelley (RockHunter)

Awesome folks! I've got it set to my next order. I hadn't realized it was available in the states. I'm kind of excited! If all else fails, I can make syrup with it lol

I've lurked on this thread a long time.
Finally got to the end :)
Wanted to thank Bill and all you other folks for the fine recipes!
Renilyn especially got Bill to open up about Vanillas, and I finally nailed down my ADV/EDV.
It's Bill's Vanilla, I forget what he called it - maybe Swirl? - but I've tweaked it to my tastes, and what I had:

I call it 'Vanguard', in the spirit of Bill advancing the DIY juice community on ECF

Vanilla Swirl 4%
Van. Bean Ice Cream 4%
French Vanilla 4%
Vanilla Custard 4%
Bavarian Cream 4%
Cotton Candy 3%
Sweet Cream 3%
Dulce De Leche 2%
Marshmallow 2%

It's gotta little tang 'out of the can' but settles nicely after 24 - 36 hours.
<blasphemy>I cut my steep time with 20 minutes @ 150°, then sit overnight</blasphemy>
I didn't have Vanilla Bourbon, French Vanilla Cream, Vanillin, or Sweetener, so I went with what I had.
I have a B&M 5 minutes away that stocks TFA, Cappellas, and FW :2cool:
But, they don't have the newer(?) (TFA) flavors, like Vanilla Bean Gelato or French Vanilla Creme.

My other tweak is to Bill's Mango Custard - it's great!
But I thought I would try something different - Lemon Lime -
and wow, it's like vaping a Sprite!!

Here is Bill's Custard recipe, use Mango or Lemon Lime:

(M / LL) 11%
Cotton Candy 7%
Vanilla Custard 6%
Bavarian Cream 6%

I might switch the custard for swirl or french for the next time with Lemon Lime...

Thanks again! :):vapor:

Delicious looking recipes, I'm glad you're joining the fun, Tarkin! My girlfriend mentioned wanting a nice vanilla vape, and I think I may have most, if not all, of this headed my way.

Side note: it's so much more fun reading recipes when you have 90+% of the flavors, rather than 10%. I'm still waiting for my massive orders, but I just get giddy reading this thread now :vapor:

Welcome Tarkin! Glad to see you here. :toast:

So glad to hear that some of these ideas are working out for you. I like that you are taking the basic information and then tweaking to suit your preferences. This is how we all need to do it. We are, after all, making juice for ourselves, and our loved ones, and it needs to POP for us, right?

Yes, vanillas and custards have literally infinite possibilities and work with many fruits and other flavorings. Thank you for the kind words, my friend! :toast:

Edit: I think I called the Vanilla just Vanilla. It should probably be Ultimate Vanilla. :D

Anyone have a recipe that I can use up the rest of my 4ml of Strawberry (Ripe)? When I got it, I was thinking I picked sweet, which I didn't and everything I can find uses sweet not ripe :( I'm not all that sure what I should be doing with it now....*sniff*

We always complain that we are one short flavor away from a given recipe that pops up. So, we constantly order new flavorings to make a particular juice. But, prior to that, we never knew we needed that flavor, and that's why we didn't have it. So, I recommend holding on to all your TFA flavorings, because you never know when a recipe will pop up that uses that one, unused flavoring. I promise you that the minute you don't have that flavoring any longer, a recipe will pop up that you you will need it for. It's as certain as the sun coming up tomorrow.

On that note, I've gotten to the point where I do have a couple of hundred flavors, which is NOT all of them, and I still run into recipes that require flavorings I do not have, just as all of you do. That's ok, though, as I know my vape lab can pretty much make any flavoring that does pop up, even though I do know that I have at least 100 flavorings that I rarely use. I sometimes think when looking at my vape cabinet that I'm wasting so much money on these flavors, but I'm resigned to the fact that this is a hobby for me, one that I enjoy, and I just hope and pray that these flavorings stay good long enough to use them some day. It is enough for me to know that I'm pretty much prepared for whatever comes up, and that gives me peace of mind, though it was a long, painstaking, and expensive path that I took to get to the this point. I wouldn't have it any other way. :vapor:

In the last three months, I have added 50 new flavors to my vape cabinet, most of which I have not used, but I'm ready to make those recipes that prompted me to get them in the first place. I have 4 oz of strawberry ripe...ready to go. I would truly feel naked with 4 ml. :D

So, hang on to it! You will certainly need it! :toast:

You do have a TREMENDOUS point my friend :) I shall hold on to it. hehe

As far as the size.... that was part of my original order I believe. As you saw from my box, most of my flavorings are of the small variety. Originally out of lack of knowledge, now-semi-budgetary and semi-out of generosity of a few friends that have given me what they had (the LA flavorings I have are almost all PIF-with a small exception of the ones I had for candy flavoring). So, as I realize what I need more of for MY ADV(s), those will be the first 4oz'ers I'll be after and then build from there.

I did a 100DT from a recipe I saw online the other day. It's titled Apple Cinnamon Danish, but I'm going to remove the Danish out of the title I believe lol It's actually pretty darn tasty (I actually set out to make this because my son picked it out-for him. Now, I may have to be creating some more for him and keep this for me lol), and I am NOT one for cinnamon in this manner-at all! Here it is:

Apple (LA)-21.5%
Cinnamon Danish (TFA)-6.50%
Vanilla (Bourbon) (TFA)-5%
It called for 1% Cinnamon Oil (LA), but there was no blasted way I was putting that much in. So what I did was take one of those lil tiny pipets from TFA, dropped one drop in the bottle and one drop PG in the bottle before I started everything else. So I am going to call that .50% *shrug*

Again, I didn't want anything to do with this, but after tasting it.... YUM! I'm very surprised.

Go figure!
