Oh boy!!! This looks so good. I think between you and baseball mom we're going to have a knock out base for whatever Danish flavor we want to make. This is so exciting. I have all these flavors so I may try it. Just so darn busy keeping the wolves away from the door. Know what I mean?

Well, if you're using AP at 5% you're not even tasting the Western. So, try your Western at 5% and AP at .5%. If you're not looking for fruit but something to make it a little different but still in the tobacco line, add .4% of M-Type Premium. This will add something very interesting to your mix. Trust me - even though our "profiles" in taste may be radically different the Acetyl Perezine and M-Type Premium are atomic flavors in strength.

Let us know how this turns out for you, please?

Tim

Hehehe Thanks Tim! We'll see what happens once I get some "filling" into it! I can't WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for the encouragement, much obliged :)

So I know I don't have much to add but I figured I'd just post to let you guys know that I'm a hot mess when it comes to mixing.

I have all the flavors one could pretty much want (thank you Bill) & some others I was interested in as well. BUT I did not buy any syringes or pipettes. Onestop was nice enough to include 2 pipettes - one small and one large. Wizard labs was great enough to include a 3ml syringe. I also did not buy any empty bottles. Ei yi yi.

So I just sat down to make the snake oil clone recipe. Mind you guys I absolutely luv this juice & have wanted to clone it for months. In my order did I buy the right coconut? No. I bought coconut candy....grrrr.
So I'm going by this:
Bavarian Cream 10%
Coconut 2%
Pear 6%
Cotton Candy 2%

I figured oh well coconut candy? Let's give it a shot. Now I didn't want to do drops so I tried my best with the syringe I had. Needless to say .1ml of coconut ended up oh about .3 maybe even .4 of coconut. I thought all was lost or I would have to play the double everything game but no?
It's actually pretty darn good! Reminds me very much of the real thing although obviously not exact. Needless to say phew.... And I need me some supplies!

I too am fond of the SJ snake series, love venom...good luck, I haven't done the oil mix yet, but I have fun with the Bavarian cream/coconut base and other fruits.

I haven't made any fruit anything (IMO) ever that tastes good.... so this is going to be interesting. I'm hoping for a peach
I'm in the same boat, most fruit flavors just do not work for me.I have several fruit flavors, and most will never get used again haha. The only ones i have found that i really like to use is peach, coconut, orange, and cantaloupe and banana very occasionally.I could use coconut in everything though,i love that stuff,i'm actually planning an experiment with coconut and tobacco haha.

Ren, your Danish dough is good! It's really a smooth vape...I'm vaping it now...also did a mix with waffle/frosted donut, no sweetener,(the frosted donut is pretty sweet, I can add if needed) but yours is solid and balanced...one thing I think I learned is that this butter, a little goes a long way, but dang, this is quite tasty...after done this one, I will try the other, but you should be proud of this!!! I wonder how it'll be with adding the toppings/fruit filling? Fixed up my raspberry cupcake base...3% sweet raspberry, 3% raspberry, 6% van. cupcake, needs more work, but better than initial version..making progress, also mixed up some more recipes with papaya at lower %'s...ran out of bavarian cream, getting low on vg too :(

Woohoo!!! Thank you! I seriously felt it needed more "bread-ish" flavor. But maybe I am trying too hard LOL

Do share the waffle/doughnut please! I NEED a sweet sweet sweet vape for my collection. I cannot for the life of me ever get the amount of sweet I want in something, but I can taste it in a few other B&M's juices, so I think I'm just not quite there yet. I may be adding too much. Not really sure where I go wrong with fruits....

"Our" Danish! :D

Yes, I know! I think both of their efforts are simply amazing. I think their juices may be more like a base-stone recipe, and, just guessing, I can see them as a 20-40% mix with the Danish Topping recipes that we've also seen coming out. I will probably put this thinking to the test later this week. I really am waiting for my congested head to completely clear, so I can taste right. My sense of taste has been skewed for two weeks. Makes it tough on juice making!

My feeling about danishes, in general, is that 80%+ of the flavoring is the topping flavoring. I taste very little of the doughy flavoring. That being said, most of the top recipes use many of the doughy flavorings in Mom's and Ren's recipes, so I think it's going to work out just fine in the end. There is no question in my mind that this community effort is going to produce a better Danish for us all, as I think we already have. We just have to put it all together now. We are certainly at least 90% of the way there now, imho. Great job to everyone's contributions. Even the questions lately have been excellent. This has really been fun for me.! :toast:

Heck ya! "our"!!!!

Thank's for the compliment(s) :D But, where I am concerned, yes-it's a "base-stone" recipe. In fact, I have it saved as Danish-Stone lol So we're very much on the same thought process there.

As far as filling goes-I COMPLETELY agree. I did some "research" while on my Tuesday morning breakfast with the boys and really really sat there quietly while chewing each bite. There is no doubt that a HUGE percentage of what you taste is filling and ONLY filling. My obsession with the cream cheese filling may have to see the round file however. I tried last night (ok, 4 am this morning lol) and no matter WHAT, I couldn't achieve that super sweet smooth that we expect with that type of filling. I'm starting to think THAT may be the same issue as cheesecake. Cheesecake doesn't have HUGE flavor on it's own, it's the blasted graham crust and sour cream topping (if you actually do that old school version)/fruit/chocolate/caramel etc., that has the flavor. Full circle, it's the same with the danish me thinks!

I did speak to the chef at the restaurant who does their Danish. He said that his cream cheese filling was 1:8 cream cheese/powdered sugar-then he adds vanilla. That's it. Simple. No?

Not so much!

All of my recipes fall in the 20 - 30% flavoring percentages. Not long ago, most everyone was talking about 15 - 20% flavorings as being the maximum. It was said that the juices would go chemical, floral, or spicy. Complex recipes can easily go to 20 - 30% or more. I limit it to 30% as I use PG flavorings and want to keep my PG/Vg ratio at about 30/70. I have used flavoring in recipes as high as 46%, and it was delicious, and expensive! :D

I'm finding anything less than say....18%, doesn't work for me personally. I'm glad to hear your 46% mark though Bill. Reason being-I'm starting to wonder if my finished Danish product will end up somewhere in the 35% range. My self imposed limit of 30%, may be holding my creativity back. I may have to sit a bit on this. Then again, I may be knocking on your door with my fruit process LOL

Thanks :D

I kept falling at making a good base so I decided to try using the cinnamon danish again but complimenting it where it lacked certain things to be a cheese danish.

And also added and took away a couple things thanks to renilyn.

This is pretty close to what I want it to be.

Cinnamon Danish 5%
Vanilla custard 4%
Sweet cream 2%
Brown sugar extra 2%
Butter 1%
Cream cheese icing 1%

I always make a 50/50 blend
I use a reo with an Odin
Dual coil @.4 ohms
About 40 watts typical

Just throwing that out in case you wanna adjust the percentages to suit your devices better

Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

That sounds tasty! I may have to take this one on before I hit the sack tonight :)

I spent all day with Ren's Danish dough yesterday-so yummy, so rich, so lovely, even on it's own it was really nice! For me, it's coming across like a rich pastry flavoring that you'd find in a "premium" juice mix, the butter note comes through so nicely and really adds that something, sort of reminds me of croissant-that's what I am getting from it at least, and I'm not getting much of the maple syrup from the Belg. waffle-I think the other flavors she used toned that down, it's there but very faint/mild. I tried mine this am-1/2 tank, dumped because mine was just too sweet for me even without sweetener(I am thinking frosted donut is quite the sweet flavor for sure!), changed things/%'s, mixed, will try again and see if changes improve things, if not, then i'll have to add some fruit to Ren's and see what that does since I really enjoyed her rendition...mixing at 40pg/60vg, 3 mg nic, using a kfl+ clone...only reason not trying my 3rd version yet is because I'm testing a papaya "snake series" blend out that I mixed yesterday, once tank finished, back to Danish.

p.s. edited to add-this idea has been amazing and a LOT of fun and a LOT of learning!

Two Words

*HAPPY DANCE*

Yeah,if you haven't tried it in a while,i think it will surprise you how it changes. It gets very creamy tasting after a few days.Like i mentioned before,i can't detect the menthol in it at all,but i think it helps keep the cinnamon in check haha.I need to correct myself too,i am on my 2nd 30ml bottle which is 2/3 of the way gone,so i would say i've went through close to 60ml of this so far between my 5ml sample, the first 30ml,and about 20ml of this one. What can i say,it works haha,i love the taste of it,but i think what is really keeping me drawn to it is the throat hit,it sort of reminds me of smoking in a way.I've been making it at 50/50 and to top it off,i got brave and have been vaping it on .5 ohm coils haha,so yeah it's got some throat hit.
This fireball sounds good, but i dont think my pain threshold would hold up to that one haha,i'll just stick with the fire & ice and be a happy camper, only problrm is i have a whole page of recipes waiting to be made, but just don't feel the need for anything else right now, guess i may have to force myself this weekend haha.

hahaha NO way! Maybe the fire and ice... Fireball = NO WAY JOSE!!!!!!!!!!!

It's actually pretty darn good! Reminds me very much of the real thing although obviously not exact. Needless to say phew.... And I need me some supplies!

I'm SOOOO happy you've found some success! That's awesome!

A few points:

Droppers are easy to come by at a pharmacy (usually where you find contact solution etc-if you can't locate them, the pharmacy will help I'm sure) or if you have a mainline supermarket nearby, or Walmart Supercenter, they should have them too. Usually 2 for about $1.40 or less. Saves on shipping!!!!!!

Don't worry about creating stuff that goes down the sink. None of us learned to walk in a day and we certianly are apt to have some failures in DIY. Keep that in mind each time you mix something! Trust me, it's a huge help. I'm super self critical in the kitchen-same with DIY-it's what keeps me going. I live at 7000+ feet, I think I made more hockey pucks than biscuits in the first two years we lived here. BUT, learning from each time was what made me (what I like to think of myself as) a pretty darn good home baker. So don't worry about the oooopsssssssssss moments, we've all had em! Keep up the good work!

Btw.... You may find that YOU create something that you enjoy more when you're in your lab. Mind that when you're having to adjust for lack of a flavoring or something of the sort. Don't knock it til ya VAPE it! ;) :) :)

Whew! Caught up!

As I said a while back-I think you can tell when I get home and settled. Right? LOL

:offtopic: (kinna)
Ok peeps! I have a new goodie that I want to share (mostly because it's been on my counter for two or three days lol) I wanted something other than my T3S's, mini pro-tanks and my straight up RDA to vape from. I've looked and looked online and I DID order a Kayfun (is that how you spell it?) but I don't figure I'll see it for some time. So I bought a Fogger. I thought that would be a GREAT place to test juices. We shall see.

I suppose my question is-does anyone else have one of these puppies? Frankly, I've still got to look up how to coil it etc LOL I am not at all sure what to do with the blasted thing yet. So... if you have one-how are your juices in that compared to anything else you use?

I'll share something I've been working on, a french toast vape (with strawberries and whipped cream ideally, but... not quite).

I've got two versions I liked initially, and I made these late last night in quite the "100 drop fervor". They're not perfect, but here's the 2nd latest, the sweetest most rich of the group:

Strawberry 6%
Cinnamon Danish 2%
Vanilla Custard 5%
Honey 1%
Whipped Cream 3%
Bavarian Cream 3%

I know you don't have Strawberry, but it was almost imperceptible in the mix. If you have any fruits that could conceivably go with french toast, give it a shot. Or try it solo! I need to double-check your Danish recipe, hopefully this isn't too similar... That said, it was kind of leaning towards cinnamon roll at this point. I only tasted it freshly after the 100 drops, so maybe I'll try it again and gag, and redact this post. The recipe looks cream-heavy, but didn't seem that way. I'm not sure why.

The latest version that I also liked simply upped the Strawberry to 10%, and Whipped Cream to 5%. Unfortunately, I threw in 2 drops of cotton candy and retasted (102 drops, oh my!), and the gooey breadiness completely went away, it was super weird. Again, I haven't tasted any of these since the 100 drops, so I should shut up and go do that :) This was my 5th 100 drop test for this recipe, by the way. I don't enough eat desserts to know my way around a Danish, so this will have to be my contribution to Danish fest.

I'm just lazy now because I broke my Fogger's tank cleaning it, and I'm operating from a single dripper ATM. Too much rewicking!

I have a Kayfun, and just got a Fogger. The Fogger blows the Kayfun away, IMO. But I like me lots of vapor, and the flavor's right up there. Just post or PM any questions (or head to the Fogger thread!) and you'll get some help. It's not too hard to build once you use "one weird trick".

Now you've got me multi-posting :p

Strawberry North of 10% - 15%. Sweet Strawberry, not Ripe. You're on track with the rest. Consider Vanilla Swirl for the Vanilla Custard. Try it anyway so you'll know the difference. Careful with the whipped cream, not too high (I know, you can't taste it.....and you won't with the others MTL). Good luck! On the gold, for sure! :toast:

Kayfun is the most popular RTA on the market. Only thing I used for about 6 months. They are very good. You'll be making your own coils and wicks, but it's more a mental block, NOT a difficult operation by any means. I'm sure you'll find all the help you need right here, just let us know.:D

P.S. I all I use these days are my Taifun GT's. Better and easier to work with than the kayfun, imho. I have ten of them!

Ok, I'm going to test this one out tonight or in the morning-but will probably set it aside after I vape 10ish drops. I have a thing about that lol Not even sure why!

Let me know how to switching around went...post rest time.

Thanks Bill, I appreciate that! My latest mix was 10% Strawberry (not ripe), and it was still subtle. Again, fresh 100 drops, no aging whatsoever. My only thoughts on Vanilla Custard v. Swirl is that french toast gets soaked in that creamy egg mixture, and I was really hoping the custard would add the egginess.

On the other hand, I haven't played with the Vanilla Swirl much, so if I've got an excuse...

The fogger thread, oh definitely read there for tips/tricks, some of the people there are super helpful. I prefer my ephro kfl+ clones, haven't tried a taifun yet, but do want to get one someday, but the fogger should give you a good experience. Your kf will probably be super easy after building the fogger, if you can build protank coils, you'll be fine honestly. The fogger for some is tricky with the duals, and there used to be some quirks depending on which deck you had that are easily resolved(fogger thread) I honestly prefer the tighter draw on kf' s but that's just me, so I do have a fogger, I just don't use much, but many love them.

And I will post Danish/donut tomorrow, left notes downstairs, should probably post my snake oil/venom recipes for Monica too

Lava Flow, a guess:

Lava Flow

Pina Colada - 6%
Coconut Extra - 3%
Pineapple - 3%
Sweet cream - 3%
Sweetener - 4%
Strawberry - 8%
Jamaican Rum - 3%

Would have to work out the percentages, and flavors, but this would be a good start, I would think, and it sounds great too! And maybe some vanilla there somewhere. Sounds wonderful. Good luck! :toast::vapor::D:2c:

Hey Bill,

I kinda new in DIY and normally I only mix 1 or 2 flavors, that recipe look tasty . How long do I steep this to get a best result?
