Both are correct! Sorry, I misspoke, before checking. Thank you for that correction. :toast:

Where's my coffee?

Here's my original Lemon Cake Recipe:

Mike added 2 - 3% icing to this mix for a Lemon Cake with Icing recipe. I found the icing at 2% was a wee bit strong and took away more than it added, but it may be really good to you. The Lemon is a delicate flavroring, and lessens with age, as we've discovered on this thread. So, don't make a big batch, and use immediately (after 2 hours). All I can think of right now! :D

I do add 3% CCI to both the lemon cake and cinnamon danish. They are almost all I vape at this point. The Cinnamon Danish is my ADV and the lemon cake is my relief vape. The lemon cake w/icing I am vaping right now is about 3 weeks old and yes the lemon has faded a bit but is still good! I can still taste it but the cake has come though a bit more.
I did have the chance to get together with Reni yesterday for a couple of hours for lunch and some vaping. She made a batch of lemon cake like I do but she had a bad reaction to the lemon, she felt it burnt her mouth, and dumped it. She tried the steeped batch that I had with me and found it to be very good and said she would have to revisit it and let it steep some. I didn't set it aside and steep it, just at the last 1/4 of a 30mil.
So, it's not just our taste buds that are different! For some, our body's react different and that will dictate how we adjust our recipes. This also shows that, for some, steeping is needed to find the proper balanced vape with some flavors.
I like the lemon cake out of the can and after its aged some so this doesn't hold true for everyone.

Care to share the recipe on that Horchata milkshake? I added some chocolate and malt to a vanilla milkshake recipe and might just do that with Horchata Smooth too.

I didn't care for this much when I mixed it on 11/2 but have been loving it since trying it again yesterday. It's a ridiculous recipe and the most flavor I've used in a recipe (35%) but very smooth. Seems the dark chocolate has finally overtaken the vanilla flavors after several days. You could probably skip 1 or 2 of the flavors if you don't have them. Basically lots of vanillas, bittersweet choc, and NF Malt are key. Bill, are you still tweaking your Milkshake recipe or calling it a done deal?

CHOCOLATE MALT

French Vanilla Regular 9%
Chocolate (Bittersweet) 5%
Vanilla Bean Gelato 4%
Marshmallow 4%
Vanilla Swirl 3%
Dairy Milk 2%
Dulche de Leche 2%
Malt 2% (Nature's Flavors)
EM 2%
Sweet Cream 1%
Vanillin 1%

I'm still working on my milkshake. I've been out of town most of the last three weeks, and just can't get into the Lab at the moment. :toast: :D

2% malted milk
3% marshmallow
4% horchata smooth
2% sweetener
8% van bean gelato
3% saline

Revised trial below, just mixed this am, haven't tried yet, close but minor changes, hoping to get more of the horchata flavor, I may still continue to tweak as needed.

All I've done is added flavorings at 2-4% to my base milkshake mix, which for me has worked well...so far. I honestly was writing horchata smooth off as a lost cause, but now, I do think it's a workable flavor, it just needs creamy support, the regular horchata is probably too cinnamony for me from reviews I've read

5% horchata smooth
2% malted milk
3% marshmallow
1% sweetener
6% van bean gelato
3% saline

I bet it has to do with the rebottling thing that they do, and the batch they took it from was not mixed up quite right, I don't think that wizard labs would be diluting flavors.

KAS

Yes, the "Apple" flavor from Signature, which is what ecigexpress named TFA flavors, is multiples more concentrated than the TFA "Apple" from Wizard Labs that it replaced. My clear Russian 91% tank is now "cloudy" from the one mix I made with the Signature Apple... Heads up.

Okay so where's the recipe for Cinnamon Sugar Cookie...

Bill...give it up.....LOL

I searched the thread and now I need a new set of eyes.....
(Or a lesson in searching threads...stupid IT people)...Oh I am talking about me.....HA!

Cinnamon Sugar Cookie is a TFA flavor. I use it in Apple Jacks and a few others. Perfect supporting flavoring!

The State of Confusion
Feed back on Strawberries and Cream.

The first recipe:

Strawberry
Whipped Cream

Mixed as posted , added 3 drops of Capela' Super Sweet

Very rich , defined Strawberry flavor with a smooth creaminess.

Second recipe with the vanilla , hazel nut, etc., seemed to not have as much as a defined strawberry flavor (the fruit didn't pop like the first recipe).

I haven't tried the ripe, but it is possible that this may do the trick as overall the creaminess and general flavor seemed to be a vast improvement for the "cream" part of the recipe...

I know it's all subjective.....

Both are GREAT recipes!

Well I got a mild vanilla cream, a light bakery cinnamon note(not red hots), and like you soaked rice in water and drank the water, so it is close to what I expected...it's just a matter of getting my percentages right to get what I want...I still will likely have to try cap' s version, to compare, might even take a combo of both...still experimenting, but I don't think it's as bad a flavor just needs the right supports...then again, I like malted milk and strawberry ripe, so take my taste impressions as you will LOL.....I do like horchata smooth more than eggnog, bakery cinnamon trumps nutmeg for my tastes, and I'm happy that this one is turning out better than I expected.

I am going to start to make my own EM. I tried to buy a big bottle because I use it so much it seemed cheaper to get the powder. Do I need a gram scale? I have heard of people warming it up to melt it in the microwave. I just wondered if anyone here knew of somewhere to get it besides OSDIY and FW. Do they have it on the TFA website? It's kinda hard to navigate at times.

Anyone have a suggested starting percentage for Root beer or Root beer Float?

I posted this a bit earlier:

Root Beer Float was good:

Root Beer

Root Beer Float - 10%
Vanilla Bean Ice Cream or French Vanilla Cream - 5%
Sweetener - 4%
Koolada - 1%

Thought the mix was good, may improve with steeping. Missus didn't care for the koolada, but when I removed it, she thought it was still in there. The "offending" flavor is in the Root Beer, not the koolada. Made it both ways with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and French Vanilla Cream. Wasn't noticeably different to me. No question you can taste what the mix is, but I've had richer root beers. Maybe it's because I'm not crazy about root beer floats? Btw, I don't have sassafras flavoring, or I would have added it. Anyway, quick and easy flavor. I'm vaping it now. Not bad...

Since then, I did get sassafras, and added at 3%. That was the ticket for me. It's now a rich, sweet, ice-creamy root beer float. I think it does need a good deal of supporting flavors as the root beer is weak to me. :toast:

No youdont need a scale,to make a 10% solution it's like a 1/4 teaspoon to 10ml of pg,i'll try and find the info to be sure, but i think that's the ratio.I warm mine up after mixing to help dissolve the crystals, but i dont do it in the microwave, just sit the bottle in a cup of hot water for a few minutes, then shake until they are dissolved.Yes tfa sells the crystals, here is the link.
