My stepson came home from the Navy today. He was nearly out of juice and the local B&M doesn't carry the one he likes. I looked up a clone recipe, pulled out my toolkit, and had a happy kid in less than half an hour. I can do this because of the advice in this thread. I WILL send a Corpsman to find you if you leave, Bill. [emoji1]

LIKE, LIKE, LIKE, LIKE, LIKE!!!!!!

Thank your stepson for his service. God Bless you all :)

How are you liking your Magma?

I got a magma like 4 days ago,and i gotta say that thing has reignited my interest in using a dripper.I have several others that haven't been used in a long time, but kept seeing the magma mentioned here,so i figured i would give it a shot, and it is great, this one will be getting alot of use haha.

Does anybody have experience with using spirits in eliquid? I'm going to try a few Castle Long recipes soon, and I left TFA Bourbon and TFA Vanilla Bourbon off my latest order (which I made prior to getting the taste for this stuff - thinking I'd make a clone minus the bourbon flavor). I'd love to put an actual aged bourbon into the mix..

I had to order some more 4oz cobalt blue bottles to accommodate my TFA order, and Packaging Options Direct ended up having the best price on the bottles by a fair margin, especially once I upped the quantity into the first discount bracket. They were a little higher in non-bulk quantity on the 24-400 poly cone caps than where I got my last ones but it made more sense to pay the 5 cents per cap difference and save overall with one shipping charge than to order the caps elsewhere and pay shipping again - and it was still a good bit cheaper per bottle + cap than anywhere else I've bought so far.

They charged me sales tax, though - that was a surprise! that didn't show up until actual checkout. I am in NC and they are in Missouri, so I don't think they should be charging me sales tax... Hopefully they'll fix that.

I think they have a physical "location" in NC which makes them have to charge us sales tax. Maybe a sales office or such. It speaks about it on their website, I think under FAQ.

12. I am out of state, why am I being charged sales tax?

Im really wanting to make a root beer juice. I'm thinking root beer with some vanilla swirl and a little caramel but i cant think of anything to use that will give it that "bite" like a glass of root beer. Am i asking to much ? I like a sweet vape so i may add sweetener also. Any thoughts on this?

Although I have yet to try the flavor, I've read that a bit of champagne makes juices take a little fizzy.

I have the flavor but have not yet tried it though I've seen it used in a cola recipe.

You might want to also add just a hint of wintergreen and anise/licorice to start, adjust from there.

I haven't tried the root beer flavor so maybe it won't even need these additions?

Yep, I understand now. Wasn't aware they had operations in NC. Thanks.

Sweet! I don't know a lot of other RDA's but I like how easy these are to build, clean, etc. And of course that flavor!

You can get to a pretty realistic rendition with sassafras. I have some from Flavor West, I believe. I've also posted a couple of different root beer float recipes on this thread, as have several others. Good luck to you! :toast: :D

Someone makes a cream soda flavor. That would probably do good with a root beer. Ive never tried either flavor but I believe they'd marry well

Last test batch made it better. My wife likes it -- that is the overall goal!

This isn't perfect yet but it is very close and definitely something I could vape all day. I started from a recipe I saw someone post a while back for an After Dinner Mints flavor and twiddled from there.

This recipe was developed at 60/40 VG/PG ratio (it's closer to what my wife is used to than what I'm vaping lately - 70/30).

Snow Day knockoff - All TFA flavors
9% TFA Peppermint
5% TFA Sweet Cream
4% TFA Vanilla Swirl
2% TFA Koolada

You may find you want to sweeten it a bit - she is pretty sensitive to liquids being too sweet but this is "just right" for her taste. It is fairly sweet from the Vanilla Swirl. I may try another tweek or two but nothing major.

Enjoy and all comments/suggestions welcome.

I finally had a chance to make this up this morning, haven't tried it yet,but it smells fantastic.Being i like all the flavors that are used,i went full in and made a 30ml instead of a small test batch haha. Also mixed up Bill's butterfinger recipe that i have been planning to make for like 3 months now haha. Now i just need to clean out the magma and do a little taste testing.

All the others i have are the older style, they all have flat bottoms, and don't hold much more juice than what the wicks can hold.A few have adjustable airflow, but most have just 2 set holes. They were ok for a while, but i had to constantly redrip to keep the wicks wet.I love the way the magma is set up,with the deep well it holds a good amount of juice, plus i like how the air holes are under the coil, makes it a bit more similar to how my tanks work,so it gets a closer idea of how the juice will taste in a tank.

I have to totally agree with Bill on this one, I have made it using sasparilla and it turned out well. still messing with recipe but i beleive mine was a TFA flavor. Have to dig it out and see.

Damn Bill that is kinda disappointing to me. I thought for sure i had stalked every post you have on here. Lol i guess i missed some because i dont remember seeing you post one for root beer. Thanks again for everyone's replies

Well, here's one of the posts:

Root Beer Float was good:

Root Beer

Root Beer Float - 10%
Vanilla Bean Ice Cream or French Vanilla Cream - 5%
Sweetener - 4%
Koolada - 1%

Thought the mix was good, may improve with steeping. Missus didn't care for the koolada, but when I removed it, she thought it was still in there. The "offending" flavor is in the Root Beer, not the koolada. Made it both ways with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and French Vanilla Cream. Wasn't noticeably different to me. No question you can taste what the mix is, but I've had richer root beers. Maybe it's because I'm not crazy about root beer floats? Btw, I don't have sassafras flavoring, or I would have added it. Anyway, quick and easy flavor. I'm vaping it now. Not bad...

Try adding 3% sassafras to this and you'll taste some good ole root beer. I try not to post recipes on this thread that don't contain all TFA flavors. However, most of my recipes do contain one, sometimes two outside brand flavors. TFA is great in so many ways, but they do have some flavor gaps that I can't close without using some other brand flavorings. Good luck! :toast: :D

Cool! As it turns out, I took a 5ml sampler back a couple days ago from a guy I work with from the first "big" (50ml) of this recipe I made. He hadn't tried it yet and when I asked him why, he said really wanted 18mg nicotine, not 12mg. I said well give me that one back and I'll mix you up some 18mg the next time I make some - but I have to admit I'm curious how this little 5ml bottle will taste now, since it has been sitting for just over 3 weeks. It has a nice orange-colored tint to it now and smells great.

My wife is still really happy with it - I mixed her up a fresh 50ml bottle last weekend. LOL, she doesn't go through liquid nearly as quickly as I do - her 50ml bottle is still at least 80% full. :)
