Been researching, too cold to do much else between cleaning and laundry(meh), think will try smalls of cranberry, acai, fruit circles, maybe champagne now too, sweet and tart, sour,...these last 2 I can't fathom why I don't even have yet:facepalm:, thanks guys for your advice/opinions as always appreciated:)....being inside, bored, flavor browsing when said I was chilling on ordering:)shock:), there's always something I manage to find that I am curious to try, even when say/think I have enough...

Andria, you saw a robin....really....sheeesh, frigid up here...I can't wait until spring, I want to see robins too

Robins down here are rather optimistic, I've found. :D Today we have cold rain; had "wintry mix" (rain, sleet, snow) this morning, and more forecast for tonight/tomorrow morning. But the extreme N. Ga areas are getting ice, freezing rain, so I feel lucky!!!

Andria

EDIT: I just checked, and the temp has already fallen to 30 degrees... and with all that wet out there, it could get really messy tonight -- so maybe not as lucky as all that. :( You know, Atlantans go completely bonkers with anything frozen on the ground.

Robins are still in flocks down here. 70deg.
2 or 3 more weeks they should be heading north....

Some of them must have already started... saw 3 or 4 of them the other day, when I mentioned it. But the geese haven't started north yet, from here, and probably won't for a while, it's so cold and white up north.

I pruned my roses last weekend, but mercifully no new growth has started yet, so they should be ok. I don't really mind if we get all this wintry mix crap over with, in February; if it hangs around till March, it will burn the dogwood buds, so they come out all brown in April, instead of beautiful white (and some pink, in March, along with the plum trees that flower in March).

Looks very similar to the Blueberry Vanilla Cake recipe I posted a while back

Blueberry 8% (I used extra)
Vanilla cake 11%
Vanilla swirl 6%
Bavarian cream 3%
Cotton candy 4%

I like your recipe too Master!

I normally order large quantities of the flavors I regularly use and it has been a long time since my last purchase of TFA flavors. Running low on several flavors I went to order another batch of my favorites and discovered a few NEW ones to try (new to me anyway), Vanilla bean gelato, French vanilla crème and DX Bavarian cream. I understand these new flavors use safer ingredients and such but how do they taste? I've been using Vanilla swirl, Vanilla bean ice cream, Bavarian cream and French vanilla for a long time, how do these new flavors compare to the old ones?

MonicaRae -- I've only been building coils and wicking etc. for 2-3 months now so I'm still a little green to it -- but I spent some time looking at several youtube's on how people build on their magmas. There are some great tutorial type videos out there. Somebody posted one link here a week or two ago that had a really neat wicking method that makes the magma pretty much leakproof. I haven't tried that yet but it's on my list.

As far as coils -- the person who suggested building the same coils as you use on your other device -- that makes good sense especially if you are using any kind of coiling jig or something similar that makes it simpler to crank out multiple coils that are more or less the same. Then you can just grab one when it's time for a new coil without worrying about how many wraps/ohms that one has.

I've been using 28ga Kanthal A1. I'm not sure what power/ohm range support your mod has or what your preferences are as far as a "hot vape" or a cooler vape -- but I've had some decent coils wrapping, pretty sure it's 9, wraps around a 3/32" drill bit. However many the wraps though, my coils have generally been clocking at around 1.4 ohms for one coil, or around 0.7 if you put a pair of them on. I've had good vaping with both single- and dual-coil. I usually have the power down a little lower with dual coils, but I mainly just adjust the power until I hit the sweet spot of flavor/vapor production. It seems to be around 15W generally, +/- half a watt with a dual coil, and usually a watt or or so higher with a single. I don't like a super-hot vape, just whatever is giving the best flavor and vapor.

I've also had good luck with lower-resistance coils. I ran a single 0.9 ohm coil a couple of times and it worked well too, but IIRC I ran it a bit lower wattage than the usual 1.3-1.4 ohm coils

If your vapor is really harsh, aside from the possibly too high of power setting (or perhaps the wicking not keeping up at that power level) -- there is one thing that might be worth checking too. I saw some interesting discussion in the erlkonigin thread a while back where a couple of the really prolific wicker/coiler guys in there figured out that the height of the coil above the air intake can make a significant difference in what you get for flavor. The consensus seemed to be that you will get best flavor when the coil is a good 2mm - 2.5mm above the air passage, rather than having the coil sitting right above the air passage. Of course, the erlkonigin is not exactly the same as the magma -- but they do have some similarities since the coil is situated above the air passage with each. Main difference being that the magma has 2 of these air passages if they're both open. :)

It might be worth experimenting with how high above the air passage you have the coil situated. If it's down pretty low (close to the air passage) it might be worth trying to raise it up some. That 2.0 - 2.5mm figure the erlk gurus were talking about seems to work pretty well for my magmas as well.

BTW if you don't know about this site already, it's pretty useful for getting a good close estimate of what a particular coil build is going to yield for ohms. Stumbled across it a little while back and it has been really helpful. Especially since they also have an android app version of it. :)

I have used the vanilla bean gelato several times,i used it as a standalone adv for a while,it has a nice deep vanilla flavor to it.I haven't had the ice cream,so can't say how it compares, but the gelato is good stuff haha.I have the french vanilla cream, but haven't tried it yet,and the dx flavors i haven't tried any of yet.

Ya I'm not sure what the deal is. I'm not new to building whatsoever but I will say I haven't given my magma the same attention as my other drippers. Meaning I haven't tried as many builds. I know I've done a .7 dual coil and used it on my stingray but honestly I don't think I've really tried anything different - that I can remember. I'm pretty sure that's whats in it now.

I guess I need to just put in some time & energy and like you guys said figure out a build that works. Everyone seems to love it so much I guess I just expected it to blow me away on my first try. It's gotta be the airflow difference that I'm not used to & I just need to adjust for - I'm gonna try raising the coils up a bit and see if that makes a difference. If not I'll rebuild it at a higher ohm maybe. 7 is too low for me on it.

Thanks everyone for the tips!

Hi everyone

I am doing papa smurf recipe. In original it is
8% blueberry TPA
8% strawberry ripe TPA
3% vanilla swirl TPA
3% sweet cream TPA
4% ethyl maltol

Juice came off quite sweet and I liked it but I was missing bluberry taste.
Next mix I came with
10% blueberry extra
7% strawberry ripe
3% vanilla swirl TPA
3% sweet cream TPA
2% ethyl maltol

But again I am missing blueberry :(
Everything was mixed so that final result was 50/50 VP/PG

Does anyone have some similar recipe where blueberry would pop out as primary taste?

I'm curious if sometimes people just add too many different flavours. I'm sorry I'm not familiar with a Papa Smurf flavour, but if you cut the Strawberry way down would it not bring out the Blueberry. I just did a fruit-berry with my dominant flavour being Blueberry (9%), followed by Watermelon (7%) Strawberry(4%), Grape (1%), and Koolada (2%). In the end I tasted no Blueberry at all. All flavours being TFA. You would have thought that this would be really sweet and delicious but it actually came out quite bland.
