The State of Confusion
Thanks Bill :toast:

To give you an idea of how frequently I mix, the 8mL bottles I'd just emptied were purchased as far back as September. I did score a few 4oz bottles of my chocolates, peach, and cotton candy. I caught TFA before they stopped selling the 1oz flavors around the end of January, and I grabbed vanillas and creams to bolster my supply at that time.

I really only mix for myself (and I'm just starting to make some for my buddy and his wife whom I'm trying to nudge into vaping and away from smoking.....) So the 6 bottles I just mixed today could easily last me at least a month. I usually only mix when I have about 25% left in the majority of my flavor bottles....

Buuuuuuuut, having a full pantry from which to choose might get me to make some otherwise untried juices :D

I got my tax refund last week, and all my upcoming bills are paid (and then some ;) ) so I think I'm going to go for it. If I come across some choices that are "less than desirable" to me, I'll just see if some of you fine folks would take them off my hands....

I love you guys!!!! (but, I love vaping more!)

Make all donations payable to the ItTechy Benevolent vaping Fund!

Your donations are NOT tax deductible, and I will use your donations for me! Muhahaaaaaaa!

Well not much to see here today......

I've had the last two days off. BUUUUUUUUUUUUUT, I'm all a-titter!!!!!!! I ordered a gallon of VG from Amazon yesterday, and it showed up about 45 minutes ago!!!!!

I bit on the TFA sampler pack (140-15mL bottles of most popular flavorings) and 2L of nic from MFS (expected delivery Tues or Wed.) I figured I'm set for about 2 GALLONS of juice

The sad thing is, I can only vape one rig at a time :( Even at 10mL/day, I think this will yield almost 2 YEARS worth of juice???? :rickroll::banana::rickroll:

    Somewhere between here and there
I've been trying to come up with a citrus type orange rather than a creamsicle type. It just comes out too sweet. Here's what I did last time. Any suggestions are welcome.

    12% mandarin orange
    4% tangerine
    2% cotton candy
    4% vanilla swirl
    4% Bavarian cream

Maybe I should cut out the cotton candy?

I think the Vanilla Swirl and Bavarian Cream have some sweetness to them, but not like Cotton Candy. Might try a little less of one or both of these (but your variation sounds awesome!) I like my juices somewhat sweet, but it sounds like you almost want a "fresh-squeezed orange juice" flavor? I think you need the background notes to enhance the Orange, so I don't know that completely removing will aid the cause. I would try a 100DT, and back off one percent of Cotton Candy and maybe bump the Vanilla Swirl up one.....

I would leave your recipe alone, but try and add sour notes to it. TFA has one, but there are several better from other vendors. Fresh squeezed orange juice is sweet due to it's very high fructose content. But, what is missing is the citric acid/sour note. So, try a few drops of 10% citric acid solution and the sour flavorings, one step at a time, until you find your happy place. I don't think 2% cotton candy is all that sweet, personally, but YMMV. Eliminating all sweeteners is not going to help the cause, again because orange juice is sweet, AND a little sour. There's a lot of flavorings that can be used to get the juice to POP. Even a one-half percent of sweet and tart might help. I would just plan to make perhaps half a dozen or ten 100DT's until you find what you are looking for. Good luck and please keep us posted. :toast: :D

The Sweet Orange is a pure citrus oil and will give you that "orangey" taste.

You just have to have mix it first with PGA to make a soluble solution so it will mix with everything else...:thumb:

    Yeah Bill.....I know...BLOG....LOL! :thumb:

I thought I would have time this week....yeah right!

I may have time this weekend to tweak what I have thus far....

There is just so much data that goes into the chemistry side of mixing, and the explaining so everyone can relate and comprehend...

It's kind of like a doctor telling you you have "medial collateral ligament torn" in your knee rather than saying your knee has a torn bungee cord so now it pops out and fails you...so to speak... HUH? WHAAA?

As we say in the south "it's a come'in'! :thumb:

Lets see, I have 2 gallons of 100mg/ml nic, if I vape at 12% how much e-liquid will this yield?

I guess I could do the math...NAH...I'll just keep buying nic until the extra freezer is full! :thumb:

    As the old saying goes:

Nic will get you though times of no money better than money will get you through times of no nic!

You have two hands...be it you can only hit one rig at at time, play switch-em!

You should be able to make 250 30ml bottles of 12mg eliquid. Now, how long will 250 bottle of 30ml last that depends upon your consumption...lol.

This got me wondering just how much my stash would make,so i had to go and do all the math haha.I have enough 100mg nic to net me 22,500 ml of finshed juice at 18mg,i go through about 30ml a week,so i'm set for about 15 years haha. This is of course,if i stopped experimenting now,and only made stuff that i know i like, since there is some waste from bad mixes,i think i'll continue to stock up as well, besides hopefully i'll live more than 15 years from now,and i want to be stocked up until i'm gone haha.

I have just started going through the thread and all you guys with the recipe ideas are just wonderful. I am expecting to receive some flavors tomorrow and I will start my own mixing trials. I just have a question. When percentages are stated and especially for Bills recipes, how many drops are in 1%. I know it depends of the drop volume of each different flavor but is there a general rule? ie 1% is 2 or 3 drops. Thanks in advance for your answers.

It depends on how much you're making. 1% of 15ml is not gonna equal 1% of 30ml.. ;)
