Ok, everyone send their fruit cake to those two this year. Don't worry about them going bad. I think they have the same shelf life as uranium.
I'm pretty sure the ones i see at the store every year, are the same ones year after year. They just put them in the back until next year, dust them off, then bring them back out haha.

The ONLY kind of fruitcake I can tolerate is one I make, apple-raisin-walnut-spice cake... it's yummy! With a cinnamon-sugar glaze over it. That other kind... ugh. Citrus fruit peels are NOT meant to be eaten, by humans anyway; maybe by hogs. Or use it make cleaning/polishing oils... but it's NOT food. It's compost!

Just keep on not liking the fruit cakes, keeps the price lower for me :D

I have a sister that bakes deserts to die for.
She makes me a fruit cake and a shoe box worth of hard fudge with black walnuts in it each thanksgiving. I am having a major Pavlovian moment here....

You had me at Sheetz <3

I grew up outside of Pittsburgh, so moving to Southeastern Virginia was a culture shock to have to settle for Wawa.
SE as in Hampton Roads or like out towards Emporia/Danville? Hampton Roads is starting to get them. I think the first one went in a couple years back.

I gotta hand it to Wawa for their hoagies and flavored DIY coffee, but Sheetz prepared coffee is better hands down. Wawa uses this ice cream base in their cold coffees that make them the consistency of half melted Wal-Mart brand vanilla. Yech... what happened to milk?

Hampton Roads. The closest sheetz to me is outside Richmond, about 60 miles from me. I've made the trip before lol. Their hoagies are actually good, but nothing close to a pretzel club MTO.

I sometimes augment the walnuts in my apple cake with just a touch of black walnut. They're too bitter to use alone (I've tried it, and the result wasn't good at all), but with just a touch of the black walnuts mixed in the regular ones, it adds a lot to that cake. Those cakes are so absolutely yummy, I often give them as xmas gifts -- to the great delight of my family members who receive them. :) From-scratch cakes just make people happy. :)

A few of you have some nice mixing stations:) I finally did inventory too, 142 flavors and most smaller sizes 30 ml and under(only 4, 4 oz), most tfa, cap and fw tied at 29 each now, only a few inawera and fa, 3 Hangsen since I don't mix tobacco except dRy4 on occasion..

So people like fruitcake and eat it?! I'll pass on that one and let those who enjoy, enjoy, but if anyone gets a nice eggnog...fw candy cane and tfa white chocolate make a nice peppermint bark base...I don't add a chocolate, but some do, was a nice looking recipe floating around here somewhere in last year, maybe recipe section, I forget.

My pumpkin roll stills smells a little peppery, so few more days aging I think. The tfa flavors I get peppery note from I age longer...vanilla bean ice cream, papaya, white chocolate, pumpkin, vanilla custard, these are the ones I get initial peppery notes from so far, I know a couple others do too on other forums/sites...trying other vanilla ice cream and custards...I know cap v1 has bads, but it is oh so much better than v2-wow! Papaya and white chocolate tfa are so good, once they age...tried fw white chocolate...nah...I can wait for pepper to disappear, luckily aging helps for me:)

The more people that do not like Fruit Cake the more for me :D

Exactly! Anyone not wanting theirs send them on. They last forever, right? Lol

I have my grandmother's fruitcake recipe and it is fabulous. The secret is to baste it every few days with brandy while storing in a tin in the fridge. Takes six weeks to complete [emoji4] Would like to conjure up a juice to replicate it.

Does anyone have a good Egg Nog recipe they would like to share? I was thinking of trying Egg Nog flavoring with Bill's milkshake base for a starting point.
My vanilla custard has eggnog in it. It's strong stuff so adding more will take you into deep egg nog territory. A starting point perhaps. My oldest recipe by the way taking more than a year to develop. Good luck!
