I was talking about the flavors. I keep all of mine in a very low temperature storage freezer. Its like 40 years old. That thing is ancient but its the coldest freezer I've ever seen. It must get down to like -50F lol
Its so cold when I take out flavor vials they are thick even though they are PG.
A normal freezer should work fine.

It really depends on the juice. Some flavors taste better after oxidizing and fermenting(steeping), others loose the flavor or change in an undesirable way. The only way to find out which ones do is to mix up a bottle and find out. If it tastes bad after steeping and tasted good presteeped then it would be best to refrigerate and only take out enough for a days worth of vaping, naturally...

I find coffee juices and flavors go bad really quick(~2 weeks or less), especially the flavorings. Vanillas, chocolates, and a few others benefit from steeping ime. Most fruits don't go bad but its hit and miss. Like I said, pineapple TFA is one that goes bad. I had a outstanding pineapple juice/flavoring that was juicy, sweet and tart. After it went bad it tasted like a overripe pineapple; earthy, like dirt, almost rotting. Blech
Such a shame. That was my all day vape for a while.

It really sucks when you make a juice you think will be excellent and it tastes PERFECT right after mixing and then the next day tastes completely different. If it tastes perfect, freeze it to prevent the break down of the flavor molecules. If its too strong, or isn't perfect, steeping might help and It'd be worth a shot.

After reading through more threads than I can count about a few TFA flavors, I'm hoping someone who has vaped Tiramisu and Raisin can chime in.

Most everyone I've seen discuss Tiramisu compares it to the Caramel Capp. in terms of strength and how horrible it is. Has anyone gotten it right? Even at 1% I'm a bit hesitant to give it a try - I blame caramel capp. for that one - even 1-2 drops per 10ml was bad.

As for raisin, how's it compare to eating one? Is it a pretty close replica or is it far and away?

I haven't had raisin.

For both Tiramisu and CaraCap mix it with Irish Cream. Let it steep at least 3 weeks (this is a must and I'm guessing you didn't). There's something about the Irish Creme that tones them down for me. I actually increased the CaraCap after I started using Irish Cream and went from hating Tiramisu to liking it.
I also use a little Sweet Cream (only because everyone else does and I have to use i somewhere).

These are all in the neighborhood of .5%-1%.

Wow, Irish Cream, eh? Whowouldathunkit?

I'm game to try those combos. If you have the time, could you post a recipe that's a bit more specific, please? .5 - 1% of what/which? The CC and/or Tiramisu? Or the Irish Cream, or both? The one thing I'm NOT game for is vaping CC or Tiramisu at too high of a percentage! YIKES

TIA

I was wondering something that I haven't heard anything about yet...

When you are steeping, wouldn't it help the process to warm the liquid in the microwave at a very low power level set at like 30%-50% to 'blend' the flavors as it helps break down the molecules for bonding to other molecules...? I don't by ANY means to a boil, but just slightly over say, 100-120 degrees. This works when we make an extract from a 'raw' product like tobacco/vanilla and coffee flavors. I'd think it would do the same thing multiple flavors you're trying to bond together. I don't know, I haven't tried it but, seems to me it would make sense.
For instance, put the 'mix' you just made in something like a bowl of water to give a buffer from boiling your mix OR, go boil some water and place your container of just made mix into that water until it cools. By heating, i'd think it would bond chemically better and reduce the steeping times dramatically. Just wondering... :)

Dankoman, a lot of people use the hot steep method you mentioned. The trick is not exceeding say 125 degrees, as there ids evidence of starts to beak down and damage the nicotine. I use the bottle in a cup of water method. Don't like microwave, as it creates localized hotspots.

Irish cream in coffee is second nature.
You may want to thin these out a little more.

Both are all VG Nic and all VG added besides the flavorings. If you don't use that your results probably won't be the same.

CaraCapp

Sweet Cream .5%
Caramel Cappuccino 1%
Irish Cream 1%
Sweetener 2%
Water 8%
I'm messing around with adding some caramel to this but other than that I've settled on these ratios and it was a good batch.

Tiramisu

Tiramisu 1%
Irish Cream 1%
Sweet Cream 1%
Sweetener 2%
Water 8%
This one is not finalized. I'll probably try cutting the Sweet Cream to .5% next.

Ripe Banana = too ripe for me ??
copied tc1's recipe (and Thank You tc1 for that !!) per % - strawberry 8% - Ripe Banana 4% - Sweet Cream 3% ...60/40 mix at 12.mg. nic. made 5 ml. bottle on 11-1
after 2 hot water baths/cover off 3 hrs./1 day steep - kinda weak flavor, but I can taste it (all), banana had a over ripe flavor leaving the taste behind in my mouth and my wifes. I then added 3 drops of EM to this mix (now 4-1/2+ml.) Steeped another 2 days -- Aftertaste gone now, strawberry kinda disappearing, but that's OK. I just still have a bit over ripe banana taste. (it is vapable)
Question - you think think needs more steep time , or a drop of sweetener ? or maybe do another batch w/ banana and ripe banana ?

AGREED+100 :::grin::: I didn't make myself clear, I just meant that who would have thunk that adding IC would allow the use of substantially more Tiramisu or CC.

That what we use, so cool deal! However, we add distilled water (9%); sterile saline (9%) and PGA (2%) to our VG - so it's diluted at 20% from the start. The added saline might cause an increase in flavor, but typically we can use other folks' recipes 'about the same' (account for taste subjectivity, of course).

Thank you OH-so-much! I'll add them to the calculator and (hopefully) get them mixed up to start steeping in the next couple of days.

I rarely add any type of sweetener to my juices (I really like CC at 1 big drop per 10ml 'as is'). Do you think these "need" sweetener (to lessen the intensity of the CC/Tira - like the Irish Cream does)? Or do you think I can get away with leaving out the added sweetener?

Hmmm, these sound pretty yummy - I think I may have to break my own rule (12-15 ml max on first time recipes) and "go big" on these. I can't imagine ending up loving them and having to wait 3 weeks for more!

Thanks again!

I guess going from "1 drop" to "2 drops" is "substantially more" :)
It is doubling the amount.

I'm not sure about the sweetener. My first 1 drop CaraCapp/1 drop Sweet Cream batch was terrible and I haven't tried backing the sweetener off since (my first Tiramisu was 2% from the list and worse).
As far as I know it doesn't require steeping after a sweetener addition so it wouldn't hurt to try it without it and add later if needed. I think I'll try backing it off next time.

I was figuring out a mixing session last night and can't decide on making 30ml of CaraCapp now or waiting for the extra caramel batch. It's starting to go faster now that I'm dialing it in and 10ml isn't cutting it. I'm even starting to hit it outside of coffee time.
I would lean towards going small because these are so easy to be wrong.

In my experience ( which hasnt been long) I find that fruits in general need either no steeping ot very little ( as in a day or three). To be quite honest, most of my fruit mixes, if done right, taste great after a hot water bath a shake and a vape.
Ive noticed very miniscule improvements after about three days. There are exceptions I guess, but very few from my experience.

With that said, I would mix a new batch a bit differently.

Anyone else ?

That drop thing'll mess things up everytime for sharing formulas, eh? 'Nothing wrong with your dropper or my dropper, they just don't look like they're close in size :(

The droppers I use to draw the TFA flavors out of the WZL glass vials create a drop size that averages about 35 drops per ml. I typically use one of those drops per 10ml for CC.

However, if I use 1% for 10ml, that equals FOUR drops (at my 35 drops per ml)...so that would be a very substantial increase (for me) of going from 1 drop to 4 drops per 10ml.

SO (whew), I'm so-So-SO glad you replied. I'll get it some ka-chunking around in my DIY brain...and probably give it a try 'as written' (w/o) the sweetener. And take your suggestion to 'go small' this time around.

Thanks again!
