That drop thing'll mess things up everytime for sharing formulas, eh? 'Nothing wrong with your dropper or my dropper, they just don't look like they're close in size :(

The droppers I use to draw the TFA flavors out of the WZL glass vials create a drop size that averages about 35 drops per ml. I typically use one of those drops per 10ml for CC.

However, if I use 1% for 10ml, that equals FOUR drops (at my 35 drops per ml)...so that would be a very substantial increase (for me) of going from 1 drop to 4 drops per 10ml.

SO (whew), I'm so-So-SO glad you replied. I'll get it some ka-chunking around in my DIY brain...and probably give it a try 'as written' (w/o) the sweetener. And take your suggestion to 'go small' this time around.

Thanks again!

Wow, that is a big jump for you.

I hate drops. I even sacrificed a syringe to ripe banana today to measure. I never bothered calibrating my drops.

I did the drop recipe that's around here the first time. After that I measured even if it was eyeballing .05ml.

I went with the above recipe for 30ml. I tasted the extra caramel version early and think it may end up needing even more CaraCapp!

Received and tried Jolly Rancher Grape this week. It smells so good , but at 10% and 15%\, I wasnt very impressed. It was a bit light flavored to me. I really wanted it to go WHAM !!

Anybody else? any Ideas for this one ?

Hawaiian Punch is killer good by itself.

Even understanding all the variables it's crazy how much different taste is to everyone. I love strong flavor and I thought Jolly Rancher Grape was potent at 10% in an rda.
Orange Creme @ 10% which many swear by and I can barely taste it in an rda.
Same boat with Blueberry Wild and I can't get it to do anything upping to 15%.
I usually mix ending in a 50/50 but I tried 70/30 on the Blueberry Wild with no positive results.

Thank you yet AGAIN! :) I'm going to 'go small' (12ml) on both of them with .5% Sweet Cream and no sweetener (I can always add the sweetener). Hopefully I'll get them started tonight :)::sigh::: I'm so far behind all I'm seein' is ....).

I hate "drops", too! And I'm getting ready to try a batch of Pirate Banana (with Ripe Banana), so I'm likely gonna lose a syringe-tip :(. However, sometimes I can save it by drawing up 2-3mls of 'air bubble' into the syringe before drawing up the Ripe Banana (or other syringe killer)...that way the syringe tip never touches the liquid. But it doesn't always work (for me), because sometimes I forget and push the syringe tip all the way to the bottom :( And once the tip touches the liquid, it's all over.

Btw, which Caramel/how much did you add to the CC? (I may give that a try instead of sweetener, if I end up needing sweeter).

I'll have to remember that trick. This one was damaged while cleaning (bent the plunger) so it was heading to the garbage anyway. I also have another that's getting sticky I was originally going to sacrifice.

I used 1.5% of Caramel (Original) Flavor (TFA). Although I have no idea how it will end up tasting. It was my first attempt at boosting the caramel flavor.

Pretty new to DIY … so far I have good results with simple mixes of VZ concentrates… but i saw an old vid of TPA/TPA flavors and was intrigued when he said "natural flavorings" (from i think he said TPA) use much higher percentages than artificial…

first natural sounds good… so I got a bunch of mostly fruit flavors…. they came in glass bottles!

I'd appreciate your comments: thanks
1. I have had TFA flavorings from a nic liquid vendor that came in plastic bottles with just TFA on it… is that the same thing or is there another TFA?

2. Do the natural flavorings require more % than the artificial?
Is there an average % to start out with?

3. Do the natural flavorings, and artificial require steeping as a rule?

TFA sells "wholesale" to other vendors and they can re package it any way they want. I do believe that I would NEVER buy from the vendor that re-packaged flavors in plastic as it makes a poor storage container due to "leaching".

Do yourself a favor and buy TFA flavorings from Wizard labs or TFA itself. In smaller bottles, Wizard is cheaper. If you find flavors that you really like and use alot of, order the one ouce size from TFA.

Wizard Labs is also about the lowest priced place top get your Nic....when its in stock.....they sell out quickly when they get a batch in, because they are a very trusted vendor and also the price is hard to beat.....;)

I am working with the Pirate recipe also.. I made one 5.ml batch and its leaving bit of an over ripe after taste behind. I added a few drops of EM and it mellowed the after taste. But on the whole it just seems like a weak mixture for my taste. It's there, but it could be more. I am trying to be patient on the steep. I am using a gram scale on everything now, just dropping from the bottles or droppers is so just easy and fast for me, and cleanup is a flash.
next batch maybe tomorrow.

I have a question: Using a preset % in a mixed juice, as in this chart, say I want Waffle Flavor (20% suggested), and Whipped Cream (14% suggested)…. would i ie. in a 100 mil recipe; use these percentages in 2 separate 50 mil batches and then combine them?
That would be my best guess.

im stoked I think I nailed a peanut butter (give me a break I am getting my feet wet here lol) pina colada needs some tweeking not sure going to play around a bit more its close but at 15% not quite there might need to steep for a bit or something. Egg Nog ummmm am looking for advice here. played around with it this morning and well so far I think id rather vape a rubber glove (I know its not the flavoring but my mix is no where near quite right)

is Wizards Labs not going to carry The Flavor Apprentice anymore I was just there and they have none of their flavors currently.

Looks like they are re doing their site. Flavor Lab ..

Their TFA flavors icon doesn't show any flavors but the link I posted has them on that page, just scroll down below the header "Display: List / GridShow: 25 50 75 100 Sort By: " section.

Probably half of each since you are combining the two flavors. ....Recipies are in percentages so it doesnt matter if its a 5 ml, 10ml, or 100ml batch.

I highly suggest you do a 5 ml batch and check it out and tweek from there.....

exactly… i was using it as just an example…
i normally make a 5 mil, and if i like it, up it goes…. :)

So what i'll do is make a few 5 mil samples of different flavors using the percentages for each flavor, and if i want to mix, just do if from the separate samples. :) thanks

Not me, and this is why (from TPA site):

*** contains both "Custard" ingredients (acetoin and acetyl propionyl)
****** This flavor should only be used in Food and Cosmetic applications.
****** This flavor (no matter what company makes it) has inhalation risks if it contains either Acetoin or Acetyl Propionyl!

Well heck, I bought some.
Does anyone use it at all?
I'm not going to make it my ADV.
