Decided to try menthol so I got some crystals from WL with my last TFA order. I was thinking of just adding a little to various recipes.

They suggest mixing 1 gram of crystal with 10 mls of PG, and using that mixture like you would use other flavorings.

Had a problem with my scales. I normally use them for weighing shellac where I need multiple grams. The scales only display grams, not even 1/10ths of a gram, so it probably came out somewhere between 1 and 2 grams though it could be way less or more. I'm not a stickler for precision in mixing juice, but that's a little too much uncertainty. Any suggestions for decent cheap scales?

Also, I've seen various suggestions for mixing crystals. The WL ratio was 1g to 10ml PG. But I've seen a lot of mentions of filling a bottle with crystals and adding PG to that, which must be many times more concentrated than the WL recipe.

Then I decided to try it right away. Added 5% of my menthol mix to some nic base. I could barely taste the menthol at all. Then added a bunch more of the menthol premix to the tank probably bringing it up to 50%. That tasted pretty good actually. Does it need steeping?

Anyone got suggestions on how to use menthol crystals? Assuming I get some scales.

A good scale is a good thing to have around. This scale is widely used and liked around here http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005UGBG20?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

I started out with crystals but just buy it premade now. I use it in a menthol tobacco along with koolada. I felt like koolada added what was missing with just the menthol. I seem to remember someone measuring crystals by the teaspoon. I can't remember the amount though.

I didn't get a spoon. Guess you would need to crush the crystals to be able to measure this way. I might just go ahead and get some premixed anyway.

Most of the time 1 gram = 1ml. Didn't WL include a little spoon with the crystals? Some vendors do.

since a tsp is almost 5ml, to get to 1 use 1/5 of a teaspoon for a starting place.
1 Teaspoon [US] = 4.92892159 Milliliters
Maybe I could crush the crystals up and measure out a teaspoon, then divide it into 5 equal piles. Or get some decent scales.

I thought I was the only one that felt that way about OSDIY's BRS. I bought a big 4 oz bottle knowing how much I LOVE blue raspberry and they hype that I read from everyone just to be disappointed in the flavor. Don't get me wrong I vape on it occasionally but def is t an ADV for me.

I almost jumped in head first with the 4 oz. bottle, but it was out of stock at the time,so i got a 30ml,and was glad that was all i got haha.I really wanted to like it,even tried it a few different ways i had seen others recommend, and it just never did it for me.It's good for 2-3 draws, then it just doesn't taste right to me anymore,so i quit bothering with it.

A while ago I got some marzipan flavoring. TFA don't do marzipan so I got Flavorah. It smelled perfect in the bottle. I actually dripped some on unflavored yoghurt and it tasted exactly like marzipan. Who Knew you could use juice flavors in food (as our P would say).

I made some juice with it. Quite pleasant tasting juice but it didn't really taste like marzipan. I added some to a bottle of vanilla. Vanilla is my number one favorite at the moment and the marzipan really improved it, to my taste anyway. They go together well. Going to experiment with that a bit.

I got some Fa marzipan a while back for a recipe i wanted to try that used it,i haven't tried it by itself though, although mixing it with some vanilla sounds like it could be good.I don't even know what marzipan is supposed to taste like though,so i wouldn't know if it tasted like the real thing or not haha, all i've seen mentioned is that it's an almond paste, and i like almonds,so maybe i'll give it a go.

Blow me down. I just checked the spoons in the kitchen and there is a 1/4 teaspoon on the ring. For some reason I thought a teaspoon was the smallest. I've probably used it many times to measure out herbs for food recipes but I had a brain fart. Isn't growing old fun?

Haha, don't feel bad. When i first found out about using a 1/4,i went on a search to walmart, thinking there was no way they would carry such a specialized size like that, surely i would have to order it online.I found it at walmart, then came home and seen my wife already had the whole set in the drawer, who would of thought haha.

In England they make Christmas cake with marzipan. You put a layer of marzipan over the cake and then a layer of regular icing on top of that. My mother used to make a type of German cake. It had chunks of marzipan mixed into the cake batter. I miss marzipan. It's not used much in the USA.

I got a bottle of marzipan to try a little while back. It was good by itself but better with some vanilla or cream. I don't remember for sure. I think it was FA. I have never tried the real thing. I just bought some new flavors to try.

Thanks for this. I spent a while yesterday looking at scales on Amazon but there were too many of them and I gave up. All the feedback from juice mixers was reassuring. I just ordered one, told the wife she could use it for making soap and lotions so I'm a double winner.

I started off measuring by weight and found that measuring by volume was easier (for me) and the only time I use the scale is when I'm putting the VG in the bottle. It's easier to pour VG in the bottle to the correct weight than it is sucking up VG through a 14g blunt tipped needle numerous times to get the right ml. Other than that I use my scale for weighing out meat from the deer and hog I kill throughout the hunting season.

Yeah I'm the same way. I hadn't vaped on it for a good month or more then all this talk about it made me want to try....again and....again...I was disappointed. I made up a 30ml bottle and vaped it in my dripper and just wasn't feeling it. So I put it away until a friend of mine is out of his n wants more. He loves it so it's his.

I want a BR flavor like the shaved ice blue raspberry but no luck. A friend of mine does shaved ice so I got some good BR from her and made up a small bottle (it's main ingredient is PG and no other ingredients that would cause a problem when vaping) and it wasn't sweet cause it didn't have the simple syrup mixed in so I put some flavor and added sweetener and it had no taste but if you take a bit on your finger and taste it you can def taste the BR even though it's a bit on the bitter side. Well the search for the right BR continues.
