I haven't used any tobacco flavors and that blend isn't on the suggested percentages chart but of the tobacco flavors on the chart; most start much lower than 20% I would start at 2.5% & work up.

Thanks to LoveVanilla and you :)

I did end up doing 20% (I'm doing strictly VG, which I hear you need to up the percentages quite a bit) that said, yeah it worked out nice BUT I don't get much of a throat hit (exhale and taste is good) should I up the flavor or nicotine to get a better throat hit? I'm using the iclear-30 tanks.

Thanks again for all input, appreciate the help.

You could increase your nic for throat hit but I don't think any more flavoring is going to help there. I wouldn't add anymore flavoring. Your juice hasn't steeped yet but when it does it's going to be a very rich vape at 20%. If you can, take half of your mix and set it aside for 3 weeks. If you like it now, just wait till it's properly steeped. Trust me, you will really like it in a few weeks!!!

I did end up doing 20% ...

Just don't try this with M-Type -- you'll never vape again. :) I'm currently testing at 0.5% and still too strong. Also note the often reported phenomenon that too much flavoring can actually reduce its taste.

Lots of theories on "throat hit" but not an issue for me (to date). Biggest difference I've noted to date is sufficient wattage and clean coils/wick. What kind of device/mod are you using?

Another approach would be to add some koolada -- gives a "menthol effect" without the flavor. I tried once but didn't try enough to become noticeable. Seems it might push some flavors/sensations to the back of the mouth or throat. Not sure, but believe I've noticed this in JC tobaccos.

I've mixed it for a friend and have it steeping. It smells really good. She likes the cola a lot if that helps any.

Thanks for the reply. I hope it's a winner, I haven't had much luck with diy cola vapes.

the first time i heard about TFA/TPA was a youtube a couple years ago; and the interesting thing was a comment the vaper made: "if you are using natural flavors (tfa has many natural sourced) you use more" so he went with 15% to get his fruit vape juice right for him (i think it was a strawberry).
Since then, I did get a bit misled with TFA flavors thinking that way (high %) but i'll bet some are better in the higher ranges… although yeah, 10% is in the high range for me in most cases.

% is definitely a personal thing.

While I enjoy some stronger Vender juices, I generally use my DIY mixes at 8-15%Max. 15% would be total of a few blends. I have plenty of liquids around and found just letting them steep a few days to a few weeks makes a big difference in final flavor and Strength.

I love these threads and gain lots of info from them. I just wish there was a reference point somewhere to know what could be found where. I have found the list with percentages but I am wanting to mix a couple and need some suggestions.

I want to mix peanut butter with milk chocolate. The percentages listed are PB 10-15% and MC 20%. I know that is way too high to mix. I want more PB in the mix with the chocolate lightly in there. Any suggestions on a good starting point? Thanks!

Edit: Well I just took a guess here and mixed 8% of each and it smells about right. I'll give it a try tomorrow and see how it vapes.

I usually am between 4-12 for fruits, sweets, Tobacco is a different story its like a 1 - 2 percent. but i feel like people are just putting 15 percent because they arent being patient and letting it steep so they want to taste it right there and then. but 15+ is just too high for tpa maybe for FW but FW is totally different as well.

I knew those would be too high together so I just took a guess since I have never done this before 24 hours ago.

Milk Chocolate says 4-20% on my list. I mixed it at 10% and am very happy with the result. I haven't tried TFA Peanut Butter yet. Your percentages for a successful mix of the 2 will depend on which flavor you want to dominate. I would mix them singly to get the best flavor out of them alone and then take those 2 mixes and combine them to achieve my Reese's clone or whichever chocolate/peanut butter treat you're after. Once I had the single flavors where I wanted them, I would mix the 2 50/50 and adjust from there.

I actually prefer to keep my flavors single. Some days I want more of one flavor than the other. Today minty coconut--tomorrow nutty mint. Strawberry Lemonade didn't make it longer than 3 hours before I started topping with more lemon. I had a craving and it was cured before the tank was empty. Orange mocha was an all day vape for 3 days and it was a mistake. It was supposed to be orange lemonade. I put orange in the wrong tank.

Sorry for the late reply, I went to bed. Here are the flavors started with.

Mint Chocolate Chip- LA
Banana Nut Bread-TFA
Black Honey Tobacco-TFA
Cinnamon Danish-TFA
Hazelnut-TFA
Irish Cream-TFA
Milk Chocolate-TFA
Peanut Butter-TFA
Sweetner-TFA
Vanilla Cupcake-TFA

That is the first order. I mixed 7 sample bottles so far. The mint chocolate chip and honey tobacco need to steep. The irish cream I have not tried yet but the rest I am happy with. I am amazed because I had a very hard time finding juices I really liked premade. I plan to order soon... Ripe Banana, Apple Pie, Yellow cake, Marshmellow and some sort of cream. If you have any suggestions on what I might need to add to that, I am all ears! I also placed an order for 3 tobacco flavors yesterday (from suggestions). I haven't found a tobacco I like but have only tried a couple so I am looking forward to that as well. I very much appreciate any and all help I am given. I spend lots of time here reading.

The TFA RY4 is consistently in my daily lineup; it's quite tasty and recommended. I mix at 10% -- and delicious. Others also blend with more caramel, vanilla, chocolate, etc. I like it so much I actually purchased an ounce of this flavoring. Enjoy.

Although I have lots of sweet flavors, I don't much like a really sweet tobacco. I do have RY1 coming to try along with a couple of others. Honestly, I have only tried a couple of tobacco flavors and one was a carmel tobacco that was nasty. I was surprised but I think it may have been the mix so I'm not ruling it out completely. I have a black honey tobacco that I am currently using and it is ok but it is not what I am after either. I want something smooth and light then I may add something to it once I find what I am looking for.

Another flavor I suggest you pick up is Bavarian Cream.
It goes with anything.
It smoothes out and blends fruits, tobaccos, and bakery's .. whatever !

I have a recipe I love (Creamy Nuts) that is Bavarian Crean and Hazelnuts.
I use equal amounts of each .. use whatever percentage you want, but keep them equal.
I'm going to try it with the toasted almonds next. (I like nut flavors)

For general information:
I know an "insider" that makes the juices we buy.
They (all) use around 30% flavoring, some even up to 35%, but not higher than that.
So, if your wondering why you can't get it to taste as good as what you buy ... up your %

Personally, I like my own lower % DIY. I stay below 20% (taste buds are shot from 56 years of smoking)
But, once in a while you run into a flavor that just "isn't there"

I'm that way with TFA blueberry right now . From 5% to 15% and I swear there isn't a berry in there.
I'm going to try a different company first, and if that doesn't work ... then I'll overload it

I happen to like MT Bakers "Blue Moo", and it's made with FW which is known for being weak.
If they can do it ... I'll find a way. I want some blueberry !!!

I actually think your percentages are a bit low for me. I have mixed those in single flavors at higher percentages and they are good for me. The banana nut bread I am actually going to up that percentage on the next batch. I do appreciate any and all input, it gives me a starting point to see what works best for me.

As for the "insider" info, that may be why I didn't like premade juices. LOL I am not sure if that is it or not but I think that would actually be too high for me. I have had lots of fun with it the past few days. Yep, going to have to purchase more bottles as well! :vapor:
