Here is something I made today that I love.

I did 6mg nic, 60/40 PG/VG

All TFA Flavorings.

Black Honey tobacco - 1%
RY4 Double - 9%
Bavarian Cream - 3%
Caramel Original - 4%
French Vanilla - 1%
Hazelnut - .5% (Don't forget that decimal it's 1/2 % not 5%)

I make sometHing close to that. Minus the honey tobacco and French vanilla.

Is the French vanilla good on Its own? Is it strong?

Haven't tried the black honey tobacco either. I been wanting to add a tobacco to my diy shelf just not sure wHich one yet.

I noted that some of flavorings % are way lower then recommended in chart, still wander how you guys figuring out the right combination. If French Vanilla suggested to be at 5-10%, and Hazelnut at 16%, I would never guessed that at 1% and 0.5% those flavors would be palatable as well. Thanks for the recipe, PapaGeno21, I will try it out as well.

It sort of like cooking to an extent, you can think of things that would taste good together. The chart can give you an idea of stronger (used at lower %'s) and weaker flavors (people use then at a higher %). Here's a link to recipe's that are all TFA, it should give you an idea of flavors and %'s people think are good together:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-liquid-recipes/343181-tpa-tfa-recipes-only.html

I'd like to note that these are just recommendations, everyone has different tastes, some like stronger flavors, some weaker. What may taste great to me might taste terrible to you.

Cheers,
Steve

One of my ADVs is 8% black honey tobacco and .8% menthol.

But just adding that 1% gave me the tobacco flavor I was looking for.

And yes I know the hazelnut is supposed to be used at a high %, but even at .5% I noticed the change and its all I was looking for.

Apple Candy.

I'm having trouble getting this flavor to come out. The description on TFA website says that it is supposed to taste like a Jolly Rancher. It smells like a green Jolly Rancher but the flavor that I'm getting is just unpleasant. The juice in the bottle smells like what I want, but tastewise it's just an icky wanna be but not really an apple type flavor.

I've tried from .5% to 10% and it just goes from weak icky to strong icky. Any suggestions?

I just made some of this the other night, and I have been vaping it all morning. I think mine is still too weak, and I started at 12%. I'm going to try again, though...

I also think that it needs an additive, like TFA sweetener to finish it off. I tried some with "sour" in it, but it didn't go the direction I wanted it to...

MD Boater.. Glad to see you in this thread !!

Another ol DIYer taught me something....works pretty well alot of the time. If you put a couple percent or so of strawberry in any fruit juice your making....especially a single flavor fruit....especially if your having to go higher and higher in flavor hoping to get it where you feel it should be......The Strawberry for some reason will give it a "Zing"...even though you cant actually taste the strawberry.

As you probably know, at some point, when you over do one flavor....it will suddenly taste bad...you never know where that percentage is untl you try.

Worth a try.....(two cents and all) :toast:

EDIT: Disclaimer.. I have this flavor but havent tried it yet....my suggestion my very well be crap....

Along the same lines I have read a little bit of Boysenberry (can't remember if it was a few drops per 5ml or 1%) can make other fruit flavors pop because it's tart. I have it, but haven't tried it yet.

What I have been doing is adding 1 or 2 drops of Lemon Juice per 5ml to my fruit mixes to make them pop. :vapor:

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks guys. I didn't like using the syringes for measuring, so I am going to wait for the graduated cylinders to get here. I got a couple of sizes from 5m to 100ml, and some beakers in the same range. It should make things a lot easier. The 5ml ones have graduations that begin at 0.5ml with 0.1ml interval so it should make life a lot easier.

I'm planning on getting more nic asap.

Its gotten so bad around my house that "for example", I had to make an emergency 90 ML batch of Red Vs Blue today as we dripped our last drop in our Kayfuns (family of 3 and a couple of Juice mooching friends)..LOL

Tomorrow will be a 60ml batch of Keylime Pie for the wife as she is getting low.

We dont know the meaning of steep.....

I love DIY !!

Yep, I have a graduated cylinder on the way for this as well. Syringe works OK but I'd rather use a pipette and cylinder personally.

I just got an order in and was mixing some flavors in around 10-15% with 60/40 PG/VG (just single flavors, to evaluate them individually) and I'm a little concerned about the Champagne..

I swear it smells almost like rubber cement.. is this one that needs to steep normally? Just wanting to see if anyone else noticed anything similar, before I actually tried to vape it.. :)

Also, blueberry candy.. I know it's triaciten (sp?), but it's not dissolving at all.. any tips there?
