I have. The maraschino is extraordinarily strong, even at 1%. Very hard to mix....for me, anyway. I'm sure it's possible to use it somewhere in .1% increments. One of those flavors that doesn't play nice with others. Give it an inch, it thinks it's a ruler. :D

I could not agree more, that maraschino is powerful stuff.I tried to use that to make a cherry starburst a while back,i used it at like 1% and it tasted like cherry cough syrup it was soo strong i had to dump that mix out.

Hehe okies hun, np ;)

I posted about a juice a while back, one that I couldn't place the flavoring-just that the description was "mix of melons". Too generic. So, I ordered every melon out there, figured why not!

Well, the appropriate mix has turned out to be:

Cantaloupe - 10%
Honeydew - 10%
Watermelon - 8%

But it's a lil faded after two days. Not as BAM, in your face :( That's what I loved about that juice originally, it was an in your face flavor.

EDIT: I don't typically enjoy the fruit flavors. It is, in fact, the first straight fruit flavor I ever vaped, and created. I did try it with cream(s), but it's just not "right". Again, its not that crisp flavor I expect. But the above is perfect-for about 24 hours.... :-x:-x:-x:-x

I hear you about the trouble with fruits, Ren. You get a 1 dimensional flavor without something else, and you run the risk of dulling the mix with too much/the wrong kind of extras.

I've been struggling with this as well. What did you use for you creams?

I made a mix last night that was 15% fruit (10% Strawberry, 5% kiwi double). For the "extra" I added 2% Cotton Candy, 3% sweetener (kiwi's kind of bitter, IMO), 3% Sweet Cream, and 2% Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.

Maybe this only worked OK for me because Kiwi is such a strong flavor, but it worked pretty well. It's not great, but the fruits definitely the star, and still bright.

I found that Bavarian Cream can really take you in the bakery direction, where I don't really want to go often. I also know that while I love Vanilla Custard, it can really overpower delicate flavors like lemon. A good mix, but not if you really want a bright fruit as the star. Vanilla Bean Ice Cream smells similar to the custard, though I haven't tasted either solo.

I'm just wondering if you could lower those percentages slightly, hit it with CC and Sweetener, and find a mild additive like Sweet Cream and potentially a creamy vanilla. To be used in "trace" amounts like a couple % each.

I'm glad you found a good clone mix, now it's just time to stabilize it!

Random tankage of the petite variety LOL

T3S's (which I actually do like still-but I've come to realize that those in particular, are good for certain juices and situations, not ALL lol), Mini Protank 2's and 3's, stuff like that. Ya gotta start somewhere ;) The one thing I am kind of excited about where this new discovery is concerned, is that I'm driving back home pretty soon (22 hours total drive time) and THIS is a good solution lol

1 thing I have come across was adding a few drops of Mt dew flavoring to my fruits. In small amounts it makes fruit pop so to say.
Ren ,you won't be disappointed with the Russian once you get the hang of it. If you have A VV or VW device you will be able to dial in the flavor nicely.
Good luck with it

Ya, I might be able to dump a % or two of the fruit and do that. I dunno....Until i get a delivery, I'm a bit SOL anyway, as there isn't enough honeydew to do more than maybe 1 100DT. I used all 3ml that I got (I wasn't sure if this was part of the equation) trying to figure out the ratio. Which is why I'm almost afraid to play with it LOL I got it on the MONEY now, I don't want to lose it

I mix my juices to work for me. Always wonderful when others like them, but I use a Taifun GT, pretty much a better Kayfun RTA, with better vapor, flavor and ease of filling. YMMV. I rarely use RDA drippers, and I would certainly change my mixes if I was doing so. The additional heat affects the flavor, vapor, nicotine, and throat hit, all in different ways, depending upon device, chamber size, air flow controls, wicking, etc. That's pretty much why we have to make our own....DIY, to tailor it to your uses.

You almost have to throw out all rules of thumb to get the juice to work with your specific gear. Melons are not fruit......to me, LOL. I like my citrus....those are fruits....to me. :toast: As such, I have no suggestions about how to make them good. Is that even possible?

Fruits require creams, vanillas and sweeteners to bring out their full flavoring, and to dampen the chemical/floral flavorings. These supporting flavors, each at 6% or less, will not dominate the flavor mix, but will enhance and cause the fruits to pop, and not disappear over time....quite the opposite. That has been my experience. Of course, I'm not talking about melons. No idea how to get them to work, as they are a different flavoring branch entirely from my precious citrus flavors. :D

Before anyone jumps me, I am jesting about the melons not being fruits. Certainly they are. I was not jesting about not liking them, and I would never, never, never vape them......until I do! :D

I have a few blogs about how to mix fruits with supporting flavors that can help you make great juice. It's not that hard. As always, taste is subjective, so my ideas need to be adjusted to work with your taste sensibilities, that's what being a good juice maker is all about. Live and learn. :toast: :vapor:

Not making melon vapes is not entirely accurate. I've made plenty of watermelons, and I do like water melon. My daughter's favorite vape. Watermelon is a cool flavoring. Citrus in not a cool flavoring. Citrus does work great in pastries and creams. Watermelon does not. The watermelon recipes I have developed depend almost entirely on koolada and menthol enhancements, and not creamy vanillas. Perhaps the other melons would work the same way. My primary menthol recipe, for example, uses watermelon, and other cooler fruits like berries. Berries can go both ways, though.

Watermelon Surprise

Watermelon - 14%
Sweetener - 5%
Watermelon Candy - 4%
Lemon - 2%
Orange Cream - 2%
Sweet and Tart - 2%
Koolada - 1%

My daughter's favorite vape. I have to admit, it's not half bad.

Cool Breeze

Watermelon - 9%
Blueberry - 7%
Menthol - 4%
Raspberry - 4%
Lemon Lime - 2%
Koolada - 2%
Cotton Candy - 2%

Gotta love menthol for this one! Of course, you could make this without methol or koolada and it would still be spectacular. Different strokes. :2c:

I know exactly what you are talking about. I made up a 100 drop test of Bill's Lemon Meringue Pie. The lemon was so "in your face." Tasted exactly like LMP. So, I went ahead and made it a 200 drop, it was so good. Vaped on it a good bit that night. Two days later, I tried some again. Basically it tastes like just the crust now. Can barely make out any lemon.

I thought maybe it was just my taste buds, so gave it around a week or so. Tried it again today and still don't taste the lemon.

I don't get it! :?:

Sigh... VG makes me wait, while I have a vague idea of what the juice is.

I haven't been vaping at high wattages lately (at least for me), so I mixed double or more than my usual ~10% total flavoring..

Catch 22... vape more/more vape production..or vape more flavoring...It kinda seems like the cost difference is pretty equal.

Having a bit of a hard time with this.

I'm trying to keep it simple and ultimately, a lot cheaper. Just trying to add flavor to a pre-mixed Nic base. I'm using 6ml/mg 50/50 from Nude nic and looking to just add single flavors to the base. I have apple candy, raspberry, blackberry etc.

I've tried to mix this at around 5%, then 10, then 15. Still not getting good flavor. Any ideas?

Sure, go back and read this thread two or three months. All the answers are there. You won't get anywhere with single flavor mixes. Also, there are some blogs with this information if you don't like reading. Good luck! :toast:

Just made a new batch of Lemon Meringue. Been vaping it for an hour or so. Compared it to an older batch of the same, and while there was a little less lemon taste, it wasn't that much. The TFA lemon is a rather delicate flavoring to start with, so it can get overpowered. I went back and checked a base of flavoring only from July. Same thing, maybe a little less lemon that upon first mixing, but not a lot. I also checked a backup 240 ml bottle that I keep for stash, same thing again. I was expecting it to be a lot more muted after your description than it was. It's not that strong a flavoring to me, more delicate, so I'm not sure what's going on for you.

I have a teenager that resembles that flavor! lol

Rofl!!!!! As another mom of a teenager, this made my day...Thanks for the laughs!

I am thinking raspberry and BlackBerry could possibly/hopefully pair nicely, discussed this with someone else not too long ago actually, I'm just thinking of what to pair with....cheesecake(i know, I know I keep trying though)? Belg. Waffle.? Try them just alone together first? I am thinking ahead to next mixes/attempts...vanilla bean ice cream? Could be a nice mix, could be a mess....just noting what I'm up to next, I won't know until I try...or maybe blueberry wild and BlackBerry...

The sucker punch clone I got from another site, next time I mix it, I'm thinking of bumping up the dragonfruit a % or 2 for my tastes....it's ok but lacking...maybe needs a little strawberry too....so as said by others before, you get a recipe and since it's diy, you tweak it to your liking/tastes and make it better, and again, I never had the original, I'm just experimenting with flavors/recipes.

Notes on my saline....Ok I only add 2%, doesn't hurt my flavoring that I've noticed so far, but does help my nose...has it made the clouds part and Sunrays shine down and delivered anything spectacular? No, but I feel better not as dried up and will continue to add for now.

Plan on testing snake venom trial mix Coconut candy soon, another day or two...I've just been on a blackberry kick as of late.

The berries work great together. Keep them around 5-6% each, use 'em all! Add sweet cream and sweetener (6%). Four berries at 6% + Sweetener/cream at 6% = 30% mix. I've used this with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, cranberries and blackberries successfully....just pick your poison. I favor the "red" berries plus a dark berry myself as a proper mix. Easy peasy! :toast:
