Bill I made your Butterfinger recipe.....dang good. Only I didn't have DDBL Choco, so used extra milk Choco, and it's good but does need more chocolate for sure.......still very close.
Working on some sherbet now.....still pretty weak even at 20% of flavoring mixes.....might increase the 4 fruits I used and see what happens.....I didn't have lime and that may be what it's missing.

TFA extract is quite good. It is best used at low percentages with sweetener and creams and vanillas to bring out the full flavoring. Good with chocolates too. Givbe it a go! :toast: :D

Thanks for the tips Bill! I'm looking forward to it getting the droppers out for this one - hah and by the looks of the last 30ml bottle I mixed up it's going to be sooner rather than later. :)

Talking of cherry. Not sure what the problem is, other than maraschino is too strong. I like the extract and have made some great juice with it. Like so many flavorings, they need to blend with other flavorings to work really well as great juice. Here's a cherry recipe that I really like:

Cherries Jubilee

Cherry Extract - 2%
Cotton Candy - 6%
Vanilla Cupcake - 4%
Bavarian Cream - 4%
Jamaican Rum - 4%

This is strong and flavorful. Not for the faint at heart, but not overwhelming either. TFA Cherry extract needs to be used very sparingly and with creams sweetener et al. If you are having trouble with cherry, try this one, and good luck! :2c: :toast: :D

Thank you Bill!! - if it isn't already in the "Bill's Recipe Book" text file I've been putting together of your recipes from your blog and other posts around I will definitely add it. Ah - I see it's in there already. Sounds pretty good!

On the glass droppers I got it says 35-37 drops a ml. You can check by dropping in a syringe

artv61 did you by chance buy the SEOH 4" glass droppers from Amazon Bill had posted the link to some pages back? I measured the # of drops it took me to reach 1ml this past weekend with PG and VG and those droppers, and got 37 drops twice from PG. (23 for VG)

Just curious. :)

no actually i got them from kmart pharmacy and bought all 4 packages they had

edit: they come with straight and bent tips and i use them for flavoring into 100 drop test , seems to be pretty consistent . I premix base ,nic,pg and vg and I start at 2ml with that which is 75 drops in my book.

Just thinking - if you could only pick one cream and one vanilla which would they be ?
Or which two of each if you can't narrow it down.

I've read their descriptions and I have and have used sweet cream , bavarian cream , whipped cream but seeing as I'm new at this just wondering what they are individually adding.

I have the vanilla swirl and wondering what that brings compared to other vanillas.
They all seem to be very good foundations in mixes.

Easy and you mentioned them all. Sweet cream and Bavarian cream. Vanilla Swirl and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. These all make wonderful foundations when used with both Sweetener and Cotton Candy. I use these six in virtually every recipe I make. These are many of the best supporting flavors available, but they can be vaped without any others for marvelous vanillas and creams, if you like. :2c: :toast: :D

Your almond joy recipe

Just goes to show how taste is so subjective. For me, the almond joy recipe is spot on, though not a frequent vape. I prefer the butterfinger and oreo cookie recipes the best of the chocolate bar/cookie choices, also the peanut butter cup (though not all TFA).

Recommend just dialing back the coconut to taste and your flavor preferences. In fact, I recommend that all recipes be adjusted to match your taste sensibilities. Seems like I have not found a single recipe from others that I didn't have to adjust to match my preferences. Just the way of DIY, I suppose. Good luck to you! :toast: :D

Certainly does fall into that category. The Vanilla Swirl, though, is the sweetest of the vanillas and sweeter than the French Vanilla, and the Vanilla Bean Ice Cream is also very similar to the French Vanilla. I use them all, but I was asked to list my top one or two in each category. Of the top three, sweet cream, Bavarian cream and vanilla swirl are the most important to me for getting to the flavorings I like. Taste is subjective, so not surprising that you may prefer something just a little different.
There's no right or wrong answer, of course. Also, I could not make juice without the sweet cream and sweetener, or Bavarian cream and cotton candy. Totally different tastes, both wonderful. Often just depends on my mood as to which I prefer. :toast: :D

WOW!!! I just finally finished reading the last few posts on this mega thread and I'm definitely impressed! Now I'm still trying to get my feet wet with DIY, so I was wondering what would be a good place to start flavor wise? My thing thus far is tobaccos, but I am branching out to spice and fruits. I'm getting ready to place an order with wizardlabs for my start up, keeping it on the cheap side, FWIW. Many thanks!

I have a blog on starting flavorings. Even if you are going to make tobaccos, you still need the basic foundational flavors. Good luck! :toast:
