Dragon's Blood is a fruit vape. What is your take on it? All that really matters, and what are you looking for? Adjust to suit your taste.

My take is a very sweet fruit concoction:

Dragon's Blood

Dragon Fruit - 10%
Cotton Candy - 5%
Strawberry - 5%
Bavarian Cream - 4%
Vanilla Cupcake - 2.5%
Sweet Cream - 2%
Vanilla Swirl - 1.5%

Sounds like it might not be your go-to juice? :toast: :D

:2cool: :vapor:

Its fine and now Im remembering what my change/error could be.
I don't have cotton candy so I used 1% ethyl malto.
I read it was like a sweetener but adds different characteristics at different %'s.

I see the potential in the mix and more so now if I had the cotton candy to add or similar.

I did the same thing with a recipe that wanted brown sugar I didn't have any so used toffee.

For the most part, I have not had good luck with flavor substitutions, or even brand substitutions. Most of these recipes will taste differently even with slight adjustments in percentages, let alone total changes in flavorings. :2c: :toast: :D

If anyone has any recommendations for Fruit Circles and Berry Crunch from TFA..percentages, recipes, opinions.. that would be really awesome!

I think someone on reddit used together successfully( I know I wouldn't be able to find again probably unlikely, sorry), go for it, why not give it a try:) Gotta love the variety diy allows in experimentation, let us know how it turns out

i saw that one on reddit also and saved it away, but have not mixed it myself. the person that posted it said it was his version of the cereal killa:

by jordan917:
fruit circles - TFA - 8%
berry crunch - TFA - 5%
lemon - TFA - 3%

Oh on the dulche de leche , would that be a good substitute for caramel or best to have both ?
Thinking it might add a sweet and milky tone as opposed to caramel a mainly sweet tone.

No very different flavorings. Dulce de Leche is the sweet milk flavoring in the bottom of the bowl (of cereal), and caramel is caramel, completely different flavorings to me. My suggestion for dulce de leche was in response to the malted milk suggestion.....just an alternative possibility. Fabulous in Apple Jacks and others! :toast:

So I've been knee deep for awhile and thankfully for many people here I've came up with some good recipes! But now I'm finally at a point where I have to give it to those people who say that when u get a new flavor to mix it up by itself so u get a feel for it.
This has always made sense to me but I am the type of person to go against the grain so to say. I've managed a bunch of really good recipes - I'm not buying juice anymore BUT I'll mix a juice and get a weird flavor and sometimes not know what the offending flavor is exactly - I may have an idea but no way too know without a bunch of tests.

I guess it would be easier to do a few 100dts on some of these single flavors I'm not so sure about that way I know what they can bring or what they can do to a mix.
I guess what I'm saying it's time to give in? Am I the only one that does this or is everyone doing this?

Monica, I do both, I throw things together as the mood hits just cause I can or want to and I test individually...I don't think I use more than 4-5 flavors in a mix for the most part, and sometimes I scratch my head when flavor combos just come out weird, there are flavors I just don't like and am noting them along with the ones I do enjoy. At first I was so eager to dive in, but now am enjoying the simplicity of getting to taste a flavor solo too, I'll spend a day with it, see what it can add to a recipe or if I even like or not and add notes if increase needed(or decrease), but I don't do too many solo at once, maybe 3 solos, 3 recipes at a mixing session. I'd probably get bored or something, plus I have a habit of buying too many new ones at once, so I do both, small batches....30 ml sizes for the tried and true ones that I like as a fall back/predictable blend, I'm too fickle to have just one adv, always have been, I like variety.

I use sweetener even with "solos", I forgot to mention....oops. Getting to point where I consider sweetener a necessity like pg or vg instead of an additive/enhancer

In that case, then I might get some of that dulce de leche; someone told me it was sort of like caramel, which I'm not too fond of, so I've never gotten any. But the sweet milky flavoring would be excellent, I think, in my Smoky Cappucino. I kinda vary on that, whether I like it sweet or not so sweet; when it's not sweet, you taste the smoky tobacco-ish flavor more, but sweet, it's more like sweet coffee with just a hint of smoke.

all of the fruit types I've put together seem weak.....even with 3 or 4 flavors in the recipe.....comes out to be about 20-22% but seems very weak......nothing really pops like my store bought.....Hmmm
Did the Butterfinger recipe and that is very good.....but none of my fruit ones that are listed are good to go.. should I move up my percentages....I do like strong flavors fo sure....and I followed the recipes...

Sounds like a case of good ole vapor tongue. Happens, particularly in first six months.

Lots of suggestions for it, but I like a good shot of fresh ground coffee aroma to reset my palette. Everything tastes fresher after that. There are many other suggestions, and perhaps, others will chime in with their vapor tongue stories and what they did with them. Good luck to you! :toast:

Generally speaking, I use near equal measure fruits to creams/vanillas/sweeteners. You are not even close to those ratios. Those creams/vanillas and sweeteners are what add the pop to the recipes. You also mentioned my recipes, which ones are you having taste problems with?

Also, you are mixing many fruits together rather than focusing on a single fruit or two, which is what we normally see in recipes. On the first and second recipe, the orange cream is not a true cream, but a light orang:toast:e. I like it for that reason and use it as such. So, no cream in the first, 2% cream in the second, all combined with too many fruits. Suggest reducing number of fruits you are mixing together and increasing creams/vanillas and sweeteners. Think something around 12% fruit, 12% creams/vanillas/sweetener and then you can adjust from there. Also, what are you trying to mix? What are you shooting for? Perhaps we can help?!
