No way 12 wraps will hit 1.5.. I use 29ga so its a bit more resistant but not much.. 6/7 wraps of 29ga gets you 1.4-1.6..Nic: what do you (or anyone) make of a 28g, 12 wrap coil on a 5/64ths rod that is reading at 2.1 ohms on my Magma/istick setup? According to the calculators I've used, it should be more in the range of 1.5. I can't think what accounts for the difference. This is my first coil ever built, and it's been a long time coming, so I'm pleased, regardless, but it takes a long time to heat up even at 15w and although the flavor is there, it is giving a super heavy throat hit while also not producing much vapor. The vapor is cool, which is fine with me, but I don't understand where the throat hit comes from, considering it's neither very hot, nor giving much in the way of clouds. Any ideas?

I am not quite caught up with this thread, but noticed a few pages back people were making flavor purchases and wanted to share a great blog by RocketPuppy that has tons of useful links to suppliers and other information like a pretty comprehensive list of flavor abbreviations.

My Magma has a twisted 29ga, 5/64", about 10 wraps and that's hitting 1.2 ohms. A single strand would've been 2.4, which is in the area your 28ga would be..
As for the throat hit, what's your nic level and pg/vg ratio?? Mine was kinda harsh at 10-12mg. I'm now down to 6mg altogether, and the Magma is right at home (as are the Kayfun 4s).. Mine are always 50/50 mixes BTW..
